    A couple of years ago I did this (on paper). I allowed 10p per day for herbs, spices and small amounts of ingredients. I also used other pantry ingredients costing them pro rata and some supermarket shopping. Doing it this way I managed within budget and had a desert for lunch and supper too. After all most of us have a pantry with lots of half used basic ingredients.

    Great video , adding a few herbs and spices would be tasty and probably most people have some already in cupboard , as you say not nutritionally sound for long term but great for a week 5 of a five week month x

      Yes, you’re right! I do mention this in the video. They’re called ‘loss leaders’. It’s a great time to bulk buy, prep then freeze for months ahead 😊

    Do you have any vegetarian meals you could share. I live alone and tend to snack more than I should but I do eat porridge, some bread, baked beans, eggs, hummus, beetroot, fish and lots of oranges.

    • @TheBudgetMumUK
      @TheBudgetMumUK  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely! I usually intertwine them in my regular week menu but I am planning on a whole week of veggie ones as my daughter it vegetarian so this might well suit 🤗

    How in the world are you getting carrots, onions and potatoes for 15 p? Even the "without card" price is cheaper in the UK than Italy and salaries her are WAY lower. All of that marked down food? Nope, not here.

      The veg was only that cheap as in the UK now supermarkets are doing deals on veg around Christmas and Easter which is when this video was filmed. The prices are around tripple for the rest of the year and going up almost weekly or the supermarket don't have the cheaper items forcing people to buy the more expensive items or going without.
