I've been crocheting for about a month and I am addicted! Your tutorials have inspired me so much. My four year old scrolls down your videos and makes requests. Thank you for sharing your work x
***just a tip, I only used two balls of yarn*** I found the two ends of each ball and was very careful about not tangling the yarns up together. I also rotated my square back to the starting point for each new round and unwound yarn as a went for each color.
I like this two color spiral granny square, this has been so much fun to work, I have been making place mats with matching coasters to give as gifts. Thank you again for posting these videos.
this was a really helpful video, and i really appreciate how you walked through every single step instead of just saying the steps and moving on!! this is my second crochet project and you made it seem easy, so thank you :)
I just made my first one and its so perfect! Thank you for sharing! Also if anyone is scared of accidentally pulling the loop out while you're working on the next colour, you can hook a stitch marker (or a safety pin) into each loop and that makes sure it stays secure
thank u soooo so much for this tutorial!! i haven’t find anything like that in russian language and i’m grateful that u filmed that, it’s really comprehensive
Yay!😀 You did do a 2-color spiral tutorial. I watched your 4-color spiral tutorial earlier and was wondering how to make a 2-color spiral so thank you very much for sharing this. Your instructions are so easy to follow. You are truly awesome!👍😊
definitely beginner friendly!!!!! so about a year ago I bought like 20 different yarns and told myself I’m going to learn to crochet granny squares and every video I watched was so confusing so I gave up (I should’ve started with actually figuring out what stitches were what lol) not even when I slowed it down this month I was at my moms house cause people in my dads house kept getting covid back to back so I ended up being there for a month and while there I didn’t bring a lot because I only packed for 2 days and so thankfully my mom is a knitter so I asked if I could use some and was just kind of playing around and actually self taught myself how to crochet and have been non stop since January so now I want to learn something new and this tutorial was so easy to follow !!
I love your channel. You have taught me the correct way to crochet. My mom taught me years ago and no matter how hard we tried our afghans always turned into triangles. She did not know the most important thing in crochet, stitch count....lol. Now I know and all of my work comes out as it should. I am now a yarn junkie and must crochet everyday. Love, love, love it! Cannot wait to do this pattern. I think it will make a very cute baby blanket. Thank you so much for all you dedication to the craft and the willingness to share. P.S. I let all the ads run through because I read that is the only way you get some money for your videos. I want to give back something since you give so much. Thank you again :-)
This was my first ever try of crocheting gloves. Thanks to your amazingly helpful tutorial, I was able to finish one of two fingerless gloves for my baby brother. I am so happy with the result, especially since I was improvising on the wrist part as a newbie. I'm excited for the second glove on which I am going to start now :)
You are a very good teacher, but I got tickled watching those loops getting in the way and you are so patient teaching us. Thank you. I liked the alternated two colors best.
Parabéns pelo trabalho! Ao assistir o primeiro vídeo pensei imediatamente como seria com duas cores, kkk. Que bom que você colocou essa opção. Escrevo do Brasil.
Hi Laura! I just LOVE this pattern, however, I was wondering if you have a tutorial for this pattern that would end in the creation of a circle instead of a square. I'm not experienced enough to figure it out for myself. Would love a tutorial for the circle. Thanks so much.....LOVE the tutorials. Please keep em' coming......
I just started my first spiral and i'm loving it but I have no idea how to add a border. I know at the end its fastened off into a square but it still looks like it needs a nice border to really give it a flare. By any chance have you done one and if so can you give me tips on how to do it. With other projects I've found it hard to do borders that don't end perfectly square. Please any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank You again for this great tutorial!!
AMAZING! Thank you so much. The tutorial was very easy to follow. Thank you for the clear instruction and the great quality video~ SUBSCRIBED AND LIKED!
Your channel was refered to me by a Facebook group, Yes, I have subcribed. You do very well with instruction. Thank you, will be watching more to learn new things. Love to see that you have the Tunisian crochet also. I so want to learn this. Thank you.
I have a question!! If you did choose to do an extra row or two or however many, how would that affect the squaring off at the end of it? Thank you in advance.
love these. how do you join them together? do you add a border first? please advise as i have made a ton of squares, but no idea how to join them. thanks for the tutorial ❤
I was making mine bigger and it turned into a very large circle what do I need to do? I don’t want to scrap it. Was thinking of making it into a large pillow or a very big tote. Any suggestions?
+HappyBerry Crochet Did you use a 3.5mm hook for these like you did with the 4 colors spiral granny? I apologize in advance, but did I hear you say correctly the yarn is a DK light worsted #3 weight? I can't wait to get started on these! Thank you for your amazing tutorials!
Hi, i followed your pattern the other day (loved it thank you!) But can i keep going with it to make a much bigger square? Been looking online with no luck in finding an answer!!

Thank you for using US terminology! I like to play the video, in the background, while I'm crocheting, and if I hear "two trebles," that's what my hands start to do, even though I know better! I'd imagine it is just as frustrating for someone, who is used to UK terminology, to watch a tutorial, using US terminology. How did this happen, this whole using different terminology thing?! Hi there, I'm new to crocheting and am currently doing the granny swirls in a chunky wool. They look fab! I also want to make some plain ones too. Do you have a video for that. They need to be basically the same size as the swirls. Thanks for the lessons, I'm thoroughly enjoying creating my own throws. Janine
Hello! I just finished one spiral square but it ended kind of... not flat!, don't know how to explain it. I'm gonna use this like a coaster for mugs cups but not been flat is kind of a problem. What can I do? Maybe the stitches are too tide or loose... don't know. Help
Just a quick question. When using multiple colors, I really dislike having to change colors all the time to sew together. Do you think it would be possible to add a border to each square in one color so that sewing them together is much easier? Just a thought. What do you think?
Hi, i wanted to know which yarn you use? You seem to use a special type of yarn, but it doesn't seem like it comes from your website to purchase your yarn. Could you tell me which yarn you use? It would be really helpful :)
I have the same problem. Plus when I try to keep going and make a bigger piece the center lifts and with curled corners it starts looking like a hat. I don't know how to avoid that.
👭 Thank you both for mentioning this. Because, before I begin a new crochet project, I always do read the comments.. just to be informed of any possible problems, which I also may encounter. & I've now noticed @.4.40+) some outer edge - curling up, of the square in the top right hand corner. 💟
Hi, I just came across your video and I was wondering if you could tell me what yarn you were using for these spirals. I just love your video btw, very easy to understand!
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. I was wanting to use up some scrap yarn but still only using 2 colours so is it possible to do this even without using ea colour twice
Think this been asked but no answer, I've just found this tutorial but am making it bigger, how do I stop it from curling up, if you could help that would be great. Jen
I put a chain between the end DC and beginning DC to give it more of a corner and it laid flatter than the original. I also did it with just two balls of yarn by hiding a chain stitch to reduce height in first round without changing yarn.

As long as youre sure theres enough that is..
thank you so much i love your idea about unwinding as you go..

Thank you for this. I have crocheted since I was a little girl, and it is great to try something a bit out of the ordinary.
This was so much easier than expected. Your tutorials are among the best! Thank you HBC!!
I just made a set of four and they turned out perfect! thank you so much for being a wonderful teacher! 💚💙💚😁
Gee Willikers I thought this was gong to be easier. What a set up! Maybe a glass of wine will clear my mind.
This feels like the gen x/boomer version of our gen z "ffs that's tough I need a puff if ima continue"
Oh, I just loved this pattern and tutorial. Can't wait to try it out myself.

Thank you for your easy to follow tutorial. I used it to make a scrubbie with Red Heart Scrubbie Yarn.
Thank you so much I'm so excited for my project :)
I bought the written pattern so I can have it to reference too. Much appreciations!
Hope you enjoy it! ☺️🙏
I've converted this into an idea for an epic blanket... that you for the pattern/ inspiration!

I am getting ready to start a blanket with the 2 colors. I made a baby blanket for my grandson out of the 4 colors about 7 years ago.
Thank you for a lovely tutorial. I have made my first spiral granny square 🤓
Thanks a lot for this double colour spiral granny design, well explained👌
thank you for using straight foward talk that is easy to understand.

Brigitte McKay / @.4.40 + Top right corner, square curling up.💟

How do you manage to keep all your balls of wool from tangling up with the others?
With great difficulty 😅
I have seen this question a couple of times but haven't seen any reply if making this into a blanket how do you square it off
How much inch does it measure?
Thank you for using US terminology! I like to play the video, in the background, while I'm crocheting, and if I hear "two trebles," that's what my hands start to do, even though I know better! I'd imagine it is just as frustrating for someone, who is used to UK terminology, to watch a tutorial, using US terminology. How did this happen, this whole using different terminology thing?! US is more logical, in UK it jumps from slip stitch to a double crochet for reasons unknown lol

i wonder if i do this with onky two yarn balls and just use opposite ends if it’ll turn out okay.
@happyberry crochet I'm having trouble adding colors I'm trying to do black white black white swirl
May I ask if there is tutorial on attaching these particular squares?
can you show how to do an octagon granny square with a spiral two color please
For the 4 color spiral crochet,,,how long do you make yarn strings?
would i be able to do this with just one color ?
Yeah you could! If you get two balls of the same colour yarn, and follow this tutorial exactly, then it would work just fine 😊
How do I read peoples responses? I can't seem to open the answers. thanks in advance

HOW MANY ROUNDS DO YOU CROCHET BEFORE YOU START THE SQUARE
None, this is the square
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. I was wanting to use up some scrap yarn but still only using 2 colours so is it possible to do this even without using ea colour twice
No, you need 4 yarns as a square has 4 sides
Thanks
How much yarn is used for each stripe? I only have 2 skeins and I'm not sure how much to cut off so I can have 4 strands.
Use the tail end from the outside and the tail end from the inside, that way you don't have to cut your yarn ☺️👍
