Tedding Alfalfa with the 4450 Tractor!

Join me as I ted a field with an old tractor but new Tedder! This is done to spread out the alfalfa so it can dry out!

Our 4450 had 14,000 hours on it. No major repairs. Wore a loader when the 4430 retired. Ran every day on the dairy farm.

1800 is normal PTO speed for that tractor 🚜

Tenders I’ve run say don’t run at PTO speed, it’s too fast for the Tedder itself…

​​@@sodbuster518ableyou Ted below rated pto rpm if run to fast it tears the leaves off the stems the leaves drop on the ground and the merger can't pick them up and the leaves on alfalfa are where the feed value is . And rated pto speed on these tractors is 2200 engine rpm not 1800
