I like the way you make your videos . Always interacting with the people to make us know the community properly and not in the form of Documentary. I thought they said Nigeria is not safe? I like your courage and open mindedness. Welldone . I am from Lagos but , your videos still shows me somethings I don't know . Nice one brother
Thank you very much, appreciate 🙏. A very difficult place in many ways (and hard to capture) but great beauty, history and a distinctive culture. Would highly recommend a visit
Having watched Indigo Traveller, Arab Uncut and Harry Jaggards Makoko docs, this feels like the most 'authentic' and like you know what your talking about. Very impressed.
Thank you very much for watching and kind of you to say. Anyone who comes to Makoko deserves a lot of credit. I guess I’ve just been in Nigeria too long! So many more stories to tell (I even want to get deeper into Makoko)
Good day, Will, I’m Tiléwa, a writer, and I’d like to start by expressing my appreciation for your storytelling and your unique perspective on Lagos, particularly Makoko, as seen through your eyes. I’m currently working on a story set in Makoko for the digital magazine Adventure, and I’d love to chat with you about your experience in the “Venice of Africa” from a foreigner’s perspective. Perhaps we could connect over the phone, or in person, with a cold bottle of zobo and some bread and akara. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Tiléwa
Would definitely recommend, sir. I spent years living in Lagos having never been and driven past so many times. Of course it has it’s difficulties but it’s a magical place.
Thank you! Very kind of you to say. Lagos is almost home to the whole world, I’m discovering small pockets almost every day. One of the things that makes it an incredible city, despite all the difficulties 🙏
Happy gangsters and their oyinbo. If we had good governance in Nigeria, Makoko residences would have better standard of living. Kenya youths please 😢 come and help us fight for our future. We are busy waiting for the next episode of BBN. Our mumu nova do.
im tired fed up and sick of watching these foreign journalist..youtubers doin vids of makoko..the lagos government to investigate this maddness ...leave makoko ppl alone
You are obviously not listening to the information presented. Your complex is affecting your understanding of the perspective of the documentary. You want a different narrative but the truth needs to be told. The Makoko people have always lived and survived like this for generations.
The humility shown I really love. Showing no irritation, coming down to their level. Eating the spicy food , that was brave.
Very kind of you to say so, much appreciated. It was delicious, more food in Parts 2 & 3. Out soon!
what humility?
Whatchu mean coming down to they level😒

This is phenomenal ... You've captured an essence of Lagos that has evaded many of us.

How come no life jackets? I come in peace.
A very fair observation. They laughed when I suggested life jackets but we managed to procure two for our cameramen, Jude and Gaby.
