I see where your coming from, I tested the tiger 1200 and 900 back to back and ended up buying the 900, it had plenty enough power and a lot lighter than the 1200…it’s a great bike, looking forward to the next episode, keep up the great work..
Great comparison re: weight and engine size. I've been fortunate to own1 x 955, 3 x 800, 1 x 900 and 2 x 1200 tigers in various forms and tbh (and 1 x AT adventure sport, big mistake, don't ask - rusting frame) the 1200 were great bikes, but I much prefer the 800/900's and like you, my current bike a 900 rally pro is plenty good enough for all round use. My playground is the English Lake District and covers everything from Hardknott and Wrynose passes to major A roads and my Tiger takes them all in its stride. Stay safe, ride safe.
This is all do very inspiring 😊 Tomorrow I may ride to Segovia myself, as it's only 105 kilometers away...weather looks good 👍 came from California 4 years ago and have been living in Spain! A great place to travel with a motorcycle. Would have been great to meet you. Good luck in Morocco, riding the sand there is just a complete incredible separate experience!!
I absolutely loved this video! And your side comments... classic! I ride a Tiger 900 GT myself and I get all your points - the positives and negatives, even the 200km threshold for seat comfort 😊. Great job and I look forward to enjoying the rest of the episodes! Ride safe. P.S. Greetings from the Philippines
Fabulous video Vanessa - I thoroughly enjoyed that and hugely appreciate the amount of effort it will have taken to make (not to mention the epic trip you're doing).....looking forward to part 2. PS The Tiger 900 is a fabulous bike isn't it....bigger isn't always better...
Great, You'll love it. I've done 4000 miles on the same bike this summer and its been a pleasure. Light (for the class) and great feeling make it quite manageable. All the best.
Finally had some free time to begin watch this series. What a great start to the adventure. Looking forward to watching you be a champion in the Dunas rally.
Epic stuff. A great blend of talking, humour and riding! I think I spied the B4293 at the beginning? A nice little thrash about road that is. One thing is certain, the 900 nose is much prettier than the new 1200.
Absolutely epic video, love the music. The Tiger 900 is essentially my dream bike but I unfortunately couldn't find one near me so I got a Husky Norden 901 instead. I really hope one day i'll be able to get my hands on the Tiger as i've never ridden one before and the triple sounds sooo good! Also I love your Basilisk jacket and Woodsmen pants they look so bad ass!!!!
Nice start to your trip & rally. Not too many riders will ride bike to and then race in an event. Watched on phone but commenting on it isn't so good. Yep, quite a trolley of luggage 'n being stuck on it was a bonus for us. It has been snowing here for over a day and should end mid day on Tuesday with a high of 5 degrees F. Stay safe, warm & happy as always.
I ride my 900 Rally Pro on green lanes at least once per week. The 900 Rally Pro is also fabulous for long distance touring and a 1-hour commute to the office. I tested the 1200 Rally Pro in a quarry with gravel, rocks, wide open spaces, and steep climbs; the 1200 was incredibly stable but gave me no additional usable performce offroad. Plus, at 170cm height, I couldn't touch my left toe to the ground with my right foot on the peg & brake. I suppose I could learn to slide my bum completely off the seat and hold myself on with my hamstring to touch the ground with the opposite leg, but I can't imgine myself routinely recovering on a slippery green late without being able to reach the ground with either leg. My test rides of 1200 Rally Pro and other brands like the 1250 GS convince me that the 900 Rally Pro is the perfect bike for me.
I like the style of analyzing. Where you think it fits in the ADV bike range is correct. It's about if you feel like there's enough bike to make you smile most of the time.
Triumph-"What do you need to go off-road?" Me-"Get rid of that stupid 23* rake on the front forks!" While it makes for a great street bike, 23* rakes make off-roading a lot more work. That's hard on a 60 year old man. I have an 800xc, am looking to purchase a new Adv bike, and Triumph is low on my list because of this. I've heard numerous Tiger owners here in the States complain about this......numerous! Hope Triumph reads this, because they're losing lots of future customers because of it. Other than that....Love you videos. Looking forward to this series. You go girl!
If you read the tiger rp.manual page 147 and 153, you will finde out thst with the off roud setting the bike changing geometry and changing rake. It's getting close as is can to dirt bike setting. That's where is this bike amazing. But nobody talking about that and Triumph did very poor marketing. My dealer didn't know about that either. I find out on my trip to England where I visited Triumph headquarter.
Nice little watch that, has peaked my interest in the Tiger, so much so I think booking a test ride is in order, cheers for sharing 👍🏻 looking forward to pt.2 🙂🏍️👍🏻
@@TheGirlOnABike ok so it took a while.....but I bought one!!! GT version for me (little legs and more touring to be done) but you were absolutely right, cracking little bike 😁🏍️👍🏻👍🏻
Be interested to see how you like it off-road? I have the same bike. Great bike BUT had to replace the following items after spending ~1500kms in the dirt and needed upgrades before the next off-road trip. Both mirrors, levers, handguards, pegs, handlebar spacers. Larger touring windscreen to follow in the Spring. Audio/phone/bluetooth operating system is useless.
Loved the 1st video Vanessa can't wait to see all the rest of your adventures and as usual you did a great job great riding and a great sense of humor I love it 😀
I'm heading to South Africa next month. My own bike is a Tiger 850 (love it!), but for this trip I'm renting a GS800 and planning to ride 8500kms around SA, Tanzania, Namibia and Botswana. Maybe I'll bump into you :)
Own a MY20 Rally Pro, great bike and you're spot on about the power 😀 You definitely need the under seat USB charger if you use the Triumph App for navigation, it chews up the phone battery. The upper roll cage is next to useless, dropped my bike on a low speed front wheel slip in gravel. The cage scratched and dented the left side of the fuel tank 😒
Awesome video but as usual you make ADV bikes look amazing but since I have a Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer I would love to see you put it through its paces. But looking forward to your part 2 video 👍👍👍👍🏍️🏴🏍️🏴🏍️
I found the same on my 1200 Tiger - after about 2 hours my butt starts to ache. Standard seat is great for shorter trips but touring needs something ... more. Triumph - take note please! Great Vid, thanks Vans.
Hehe so glad it wasn't fair me lol. So apparently there is a more comfortable seat available from triumph but I didn't know... I'd definitely have asked for it 🤣
@@TheGirlOnABikeI have not been able to find the more comfortable seat from Triumph… do you have a link for this? And a big thank you for videos, love them ❤
Great video Vanessa! Your sassy comments and the banter between the two of you is quite entertaining. Please please please can you tell me the brand and model of that DIN to USB adapter (can't catch that in the video)? All the straight shaped ones I tried don't fit the placement of the front DIN port between the key socket and the steering column. Yours would seem to do the trick with the L shape. Thank you!
Aw thank you dude. Mav doesnt remember where he got his from but after a little googling, I found this one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184389228908?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338268676&toolid=10044&customid=Cj0KCQiA5rGuBhCnARIsAN11vgSI1OZkX5nCSZZwrruP26AzORCjH-c4qbnYYuHtW45hzk8RIGMuv_QaAkDtEALw_wcB. It looks pretty similar to it. Hope that helps
Thanks a million! I just got a '22 Tiger 900 Rally Pro so this video was spot on for me, interesting to compare my impressions with yours. I gotta say the DIN port situation is a bit iffy (they added USB ports in the 2024 model). The power isn't cut when the ignition is off so you either need an adapter with an off button, or to remove it every time you leave the bike for the night (which I don't like). Otherwise you risk draining the battery. And I agree with you on that phone compartment under the seat being completely and utterly nonsense. Most uncomfortable position to hold a phone, ever! Another big big problem on this model is the tyre pressure sensors. They can't be customized or disabled from the dashboard, so if you deflate the tyres for offroading you constantly get the sensor alert. Ah, Triumph.
I've got the Tiger 900 Rally Pro and it's awesome. I love it, considered the 1200, but I'm really glad I went for the 900 instead. So much fun to ride. I haven't done any big trips/adventures yet. But plan on doing some in 2023.
Ok I got a question. I am a bit on the heavier side and 158kg. 6 feet tall. Obviously a Honda cb500x would be too small and tiger 900 might need springs to be stronger. So, say the Africa twin, tiger 1200 rally pro, 1250 gs adventure, how much spring compression is too much for the bike to tell me I need stronger springs? 25mm? 50mm drop? Rider only, no luggage.
Thanks for sharing your journey. Good luck for the rally, It'd scare the crap out of me off road as my skills are limited but people have rallied them before - crazy people lol but it's a great machine I hear and now is a good time of year to head south, it's starting to get a bit "uurgh!" riding in the UK...
and smashed it like the boss!! I agree with what you said about people wanting the big bikes, I am happy with my little F750GS TE which I have customed to myself, and she is built for offroad now, people ask why didn't I buy the F850GS or the GSA, I liked the 750 and preferred the 19inch front wheel, not much else I can do on my 750gs, but I will be at the ABR next year, so you may get to see it, if you are on the adventure trail.
hi vanessa, where was the exact place of that coffee shop around 06.20? hope to see in your next videos your height-seat-foot landing on the ground (like you did on the cfr1100 video) on your road touring of this tiger, it's always a great point. cheers!
Looking at your accessories around 8:50 in the video. GOOD: you have the new style tank guard. NOT GOOD: if you hit a rock hard against the default sump guard you will dent the guard and crack the sump case, terminating your tour. The extremely sturdy Touratech sump guard designed for the Tiger 900 fits perfectly even with the attached Triumph engine guard and tank guard bars. NOT GOOD: the default mirrors will impare the range of our arm movement while offroading. The Tiger 800 style mirrors on the 900 give more arm room, and better yet foldable mirrors offroad will be much better. Possible recommendation: if you jump your bike, the default 900 windscreen will hit you in the throat when you land. (Quite dangerous actually.) Either don't jump the bike when riding offroad or replace the default windscreen with a short screen by Powerbronze and mount a foldable windscreen extension on top of the Powerbronze.
To do any serious off roading on that bike you need to change the crappy hand guards and equally crappy engine and tank bars/protectors for better quality aftermarket ones. Soft panniers is also preferable for off road. That said nice vid and good luck.
I did enjoy the hard ones but they are very hard and big. I tend to gravitate to my Mosko rackless bags, also the size I have doesn't give as much space. If I was dabbling off road with the panners I would go soft. Hope that helps
Great video Vanessa, after seeing you at the ABR this year had to follow you. I'd just picked up my 900 and you've picked up the same points as me. So did you ever get the connectivity sorted? I've been chatting to sena for 2 weeks now. What was the comfort seat you found? I find it feels like I'm sitting on a hard square edged foam. Apart from that, love it and will be doing some adventures soon for my channel.. thanks for your inspiration!
@@TheGirlOnABike you didn't really asnwer the quesiton about the comfort seat. At 15:50 you've put a text saying you found out a comfort seat option. Triumph configurator doesn't have it. I would like to know what you've meant with that message?
Great video, I have the same bike although currently on enforced rest after a shoulder op, so really looking forward to part 2. What are the trousers you are both wearing? Thanks.
Oh nice. Sorry to hear about the op I known shoulder recovery all too well. Good luck with a speedy recovery. They’re Woodsman by Mosko Moto and I definitely recommend 💯

great video of a brave young woman.....💪 😉 nice to see, that you wear some of the best rider gear.... from Mosko Moto...👍... maybe you could let us know how your pants and jacket perform, realy would like to know .... stay save , stay cool , best wishes from Germany.....
Aw thank you. I'm a big Mosko fan. They’re Woodsman and I definitely recommend 💯 jacket is the old Basilisk. The new one only launched in the last few weeks ❤️
I'd strongly suggest the Outbackmotortek ones. I took the originals off, and they were flimsy. I've gone outbackmotortek bash plate and engine guards, along with pannier frames from the same stable. I do take my 900 Tiger off road and have put DoubleTake mirrors on too. My enthusiasm regularly outstrips my talent and these things make dropping my lovely Tiger less heart breaking. I've also twatted my leg on hard boxes on the 900. I foolishly presumed on a bigger Adv bike I'd be less likely to get into difficulty, as I wouldn't be stupid enough to get into bother. I overestimated my intelligence. My 900 has pretty well the same set up as my dual sport 701.
@TheGirlOnABike yea I found out afterwards the factory setting for the suspension is set to the stiffest probably why it didn't budge much when I sat on it 🤣
It is a lovely bike but the phone connectivity is shite! Much like the KTM. I'm intrigued as to why only Honda have a decent Android/Apple interface. I HAVE BEEN UNFAIR. TRIED AGAIN AND IT WORKED FINE. UPDATED, MAYBE? A LOT BETTER THAN THE KTM INTERFACE.
@@davidhardstaff8110 mine connected well enough, just didn't do much. Primitive GPS, music dropped out on Android. I gave up. UPDATE. Not so fast. In light of David's comment I tried again. It worked very well. I am usually okay with tech and this was very smooth. Still can't get the volume control to work but otherwise good. Thanks David.
The GPS and Audio system are garbage. I have android and apple devices. Love my Rally Pro but Triumph needs to ditch the audio operating system. Replace with Android 'auto' or something similar.
@@davidhardstaff8110 I'm glad you commented. I tried mine again. It worked a treat! I had a very early Tiger 900. Maybe the gremlins were sorted out. Anyway, thanks David.
@@raulf1341 little over 6’1” 255lbs. The wind protection wasn’t good when traveling at highway speeds for hours at a time, the buzzing in the handlebars made my hands numb, the heated grips were pretty useless compared to my BMW’s or a pair of Oxfords when riding in 30’s or 40’s, and the seat was uncomfortable (and comfort seat felt no different).

Phone charger under the seat is indeed a stupid idea. Nobody uses it. On the other hand, you can use it as a charger for anyrhing in your back luguage, with a small wire
I pulled that silly tray out of mine and fitted 2 x 65 watt usb c sockets there instead, fitted another 2 x 65 watt up front. This is how it should be from factory.
In the '60s and '70s the U.S. was cris-crossed by intrepid boomers on every sort of bike. Choppers were particularly popular but gass stations were more numerous so being range restricted by a 3.5 gallon tank wasn't the problem it is today.

Ah sorry we didn't get to day hi. Thank so much for watching and saying hi here
hi vanessa, where was the exact place of that coffee shop around 06.20?
hope to see in your next videos your height-seat-foot landing on the ground (like you did on the cfr1100 video) on your road touring of this tiger, it's always a great point.
cheers!
Awesome. I m loving. It😍✌️
Very very nice, what about trying it again on a Honda X500 Adventure?
I’m sure that would be more manageable hehe
Power to weight ratio per ton. Although midrange grunt could be a factor too
Very true💪
Fantastic work. What is the name of the trousers you are wearing? The light brown ones. They look fantastic
They’re Woodsman by mosko moto and I definitely recommend 💯
Thanks dude. Check out the next vdieo in the series for what I changed ready for the desert rally 💪
Great video!
Would you prefer the panniers over soft luggage, from a balance and weight management perspective?
I did enjoy the hard ones but they are very hard and big. I tend to gravitate to my Mosko rackless bags, also the size I have doesn't give as much space. If I was dabbling off road with the panners I would go soft. Hope that helps
Big challenge ahead tackling the rally on the 900.
Yup sure is! 🤞🙈
I own the same bike in matt green. I've riden 8000 km now; seat is getting better😁
Haha nice. My bottom 🙈🫣😂
Brill video,ride safe sister!!
Great vid. Where did you both get the trousers from?
Thanks dude. They’re Woodsman by Mosko Moto and I definitely recommend 💯
nice trip! hoe did you mange to setup your microphone in your helmet?
I don't actually use an mic in my helmet. I probably should
Hope you are back in plenty of time to MC at the ABR festival
I sure will! I'll be there hosting the master class stage! Can't wait
22:35 🤔 best hidden place for .. medicine !! (Plz don't think over 🙏😅)
Where is the weight vs power analysis table? Sorry I'm late to the party, just daydreaming of buying a Tiger 900 RP lol
Oh blimey. Good question haha I remember drawing it out. I'll have to see what happened... Maybe I never hit publish on my website lol
Hi there great to see you on a tiger hun, what is the Mosko moto jacket your wearing I’m interested in it
Hey dude yeah Mosko but it is the old Basilisk. The new one only launched in the last few weeks so this one is no longer available unfortunately
@@TheGirlOnABike ah that’s great thank you
for American viewers, be aware that the 54 'mpg', is for 'British' gallons, which are 1/4 bigger [160 vs 128 fl-oz] than American gallons.
👍
The seat really is a pain. Hope the saddlers work will help.
Aw yey thanks so much for the follow, i mega appreciate it! Wooohooo!
@@TheGirlOnABike thanks, thought they might be, found them online..yeh unfortunately I too am too used to recovering from injuries! Started using the U perform collagen after an accident on a drz 2yrs ago cos of you, using it again now, so thanks for that as well!😁
Just for the start you have my like
Haha thanks dude 💖
Ok, now here's a channel I thought would be great to subscribe
I have one of these and the seat is definitely not great. What is the alternative seat you found? Great video
So apparently it’s another oem from triumph. I have not actually tried it but been told it’s the same as the 1200 comes with I believe. I think they should just give it as standard haha
Spotted Trellech there!
great video of a brave young woman.....💪 😉 nice to see, that you wear some of the best rider gear.... from Mosko Moto...👍... maybe you could let us know how your pants and jacket perform, realy would like to know .... stay save , stay cool , best wishes from Germany.....
Aw thank you. I'm a big Mosko fan. They’re Woodsman and I definitely recommend 💯 jacket is the old Basilisk. The new one only launched in the last few weeks ❤️
Anyone managed to find a place to get the OEM Triumph upper crash bars for the Rally Pro cant seem to get any even with the part number ?
Oh that's a good question. I believe these are straight from triumph. Have you tried a dealer?
@@TheGirlOnABike Many dealers are just getting them in now.
Just a quick question. Is your Speedo display still in MPH or have you changed to KPH, which I do in Europe?
I didn’t change it to be fair. It’s possible though lol
What brand of riding pants are those
They’re Woodsman by mosko moto and I definitely recommend 💯
Nice video. Welcome to Spain. Remember to drive to the right.
What gear are you wearing?
Mosko Moto and i highly recommend!
You can tour on any bike!
Totally agree. The bike is just the facilitator
7:05 Vanessa next on food blogging..☺️
How tall are you if I may ask I'm 5'8 and thinking of this tiger
I am about 5'7 😊
@TheGirlOnABike yea I found out afterwards the factory setting for the suspension is set to the stiffest probably why it didn't budge much when I sat on it 🤣
What are the trousers you was wearing?
Are they military cry trousers
They’re Woodsman by Mosko moto and I definitely recommend 💯
@@TheGirlOnABike thank you for replying hope all is going well. I look at these trousers when I get back to the UK. Safe riding
Nice move grabbing the camera at the start!
Hehe thanks dude
It is a lovely bike but the phone connectivity is shite! Much like the KTM. I'm intrigued as to why only Honda have a decent Android/Apple interface. I HAVE BEEN UNFAIR. TRIED AGAIN AND IT WORKED FINE. UPDATED, MAYBE? A LOT BETTER THAN THE KTM INTERFACE.
Mine connected fine.
@@user-du9xr9qv4d try again, I did. It seems to work fine! Software update, maybe?
I bought them comfort seat and couldn’t tell the difference.
I was really uncomfortable touring on the Tiger, but I’m a big dude.
How tall are you?
@@raulf1341 little over 6’1” 255lbs. The wind protection wasn’t good when traveling at highway speeds for hours at a time, the buzzing in the handlebars made my hands numb, the heated grips were pretty useless compared to my BMW’s or a pair of Oxfords when riding in 30’s or 40’s, and the seat was uncomfortable (and comfort seat felt no different).
Shame about the gold front suspension. Would look much better in black
👍
Tebrikler 🏍🧿🇹🇷
👍
finally the video is here, let's how Vanesa did in Morocco
Hehe the series starts! Sorry I'm so slow to get them out but I hope it is worth the wait hehe
@@TheGirlOnABike I did enjoy the part 1, now I am impatient to live the desert adventure. I took the sticker you gave me in Granada with me on a desert bike challange end of October. 😃.....nice Work Vanessa I take my helmet off

👍
Phone charger under the seat is indeed a stupid idea. Nobody uses it.
On the other hand, you can use it as a charger for anyrhing in your back luguage, with a small wire
Yeah that's true
I pulled that silly tray out of mine and fitted 2 x 65 watt usb c sockets there instead, fitted another 2 x 65 watt up front. This is how it should be from factory.
In the '60s and '70s the U.S. was cris-crossed by intrepid boomers on every sort of bike. Choppers were particularly popular but gass stations were more numerous so being range restricted by a 3.5 gallon tank wasn't the problem it is today.
The phone and infotainment integration doesn’t work. Even the factory couldn’t figure it out.
Oh yikes lol. I will touch relieved to hear it wasn’t just me being turbo blonde haha 🙈
I THINK YOUR BIKES ARE RIDICULOUS
👍👍
❤️
Feedback: too much talk and too little ride ... excellent video quality though 👏👏 ... suggestion: part of the talk while riding 🙌
Thanks so much for the feedback 🙏
The dog parking its breakfast was a nice touch I thought...
Oh gosh I missed that 😂
