- Since Joey is low on money, Gunther offers him a position at Central Perk, the coffee shop Joey and his friends hang out at all the time. Joey thinks it is weird waiting on his friends and tries to hide his new job from them. When everyone finds out that Joey works at the coffee shop, they give him words of encouragement and Rachel passes on her waitressing advice from her time work there.

nah I believe it was Joseph who worked with Chandler.
I always felt bad that Chandy slept with Joseph's wife for sport and would laugh about it the next day at the water cooler.

Can we talk about how great Gunther was? When Joey tells him that he can’t pay his coffee, Gunther offers him a job for it
Yeah. Well I think back then this sort of thing was unusual but it was still believably possible that it could happen. Today you'd probably get the police called on you.

This is so relatable. There's nothing to be ashamed of getting a job in between acting jobs. I did it in my friends bar. If anything I got better tips than everyone else who worked there.👍

Wonderful that Phoebe's final line suddenly ends the episode, before the audience can be heard not laughing very much. It is the one line in a hundred in which Pheobe is a bit unkind, - the one attitude which even an actor like Lisa Kudrow can't make funny. Kindness is swimming inside every other line that she says. But she cant pretend to her secretary that she is 'joking' about firing her, because her previous line (also about firing her) already shows Phoebe 'pretending to be unkind'. Kudrow says the last line the only way that's left! And my POINT is that kindness is the CENTER of all this! J.
