Honey Bee Removal from Cinder Block Wall.

  • I've heard honey bees don't like cinderblock, but you couldn't tell it from these bees.
    The wall dors get a lot of sun, and had a huge opening into a more than sufficient cavity, so they took advantage of about 7 feet worth of space in the hollow column created with cinderblock walls.
    It was a good removal, and ended up with about a dozen queen cells, which we banded up, and split into some 2 frame nucs, and added the bees across all of them.

    how did you replace the section of cinderblock that you guys cutout?

      In this case I cut flat block and pieced it in with mortar. Some instances I'll use plywood and back fill the block completely. Other times another contractor will do the repair work depending on the contract. Thanks for watching.

    What a great channel. I like how you took advantage of the ripe queen cells. Surprised you do difficult cut outs with all the swarms you catch. Got my first one in a swarm trap today! Huge swarm maybe 5lbs. Keep up the good work!
