Liberty Bell Beekeepers Urban Beekeeping
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 พ.ค. 2017
Welcome to Liberty Bell Beekeepers, located in Philadelphia, PA. I am a beekeeper, a craftsman, a gardener, and father. I perform honeybee and wasp removals, as well as raise and sell bees. My life is a little different than most, and I hope you enjoy the experiences here as much as I do in real life.
Liberty Bell Beekeepers is dedicated to keeping honeybees in an urban setting and show off some ideas I have had in creating my apiary, my shop, and my gardens.
We get into a little bit of everything and as it grows, hope to show just what it takes to make a dream come true.
Welcome.

Bumblebee Nest Removal
มุมมอง 2193 หลายเดือนก่อน
As part of our services, we do come across bumblebee nests from time to time. We do our best not to disturb them if we don't have to and try to let them carry out their days as they are native pollinators. But in this instance, the homeowner is highly allergic to all b. Stings and being as they were right in front of his shed, they had to go. #bee #beelife #savethebees #honeybee #queenbee #hone...

This little one was only about a month old, and my guess is it was a very small swarm. #bee #beelife #honeybee #queenbee #honey #honeybees #savethebees #smallbusiness #swarms #removal #beekeeping

Nice day! Looks like you ended up at Washington Crossing. I grew up in that area (Hopewell Twp - on the Jersey side). I miss my hometown! Its population has more than doubled, at least, since I lived there 😢
Hi ❤ love your beard
Currently in a siege with yellow jacks in my brick column, a war that has lasted months where the current score is about 734 to 3 anyways. A question. I’m encountering yellow jackets that look almost identical to the normal workers however they have longer back ends, more stripes just. Longer What are these ? As I don’t believe it is a queen and I was under the impression males were smaller but I could be wrong as I’m but a man with an electric tennis racket
Try using Spray adhesive .
Not a bad idea. Thanks.
Holy crap, are those the ground nesting ones?
I think so, but I'm no expert with these things. Two nests, 5 feet apart. About the same size, 5 disc's of nest each.
Super Impressive. That was `amazing. I think very very few people would tackle that. Great job !
@@T289c They're cute and fuzzy until you get into the nest.
I have never seen a Bumblebee removal.👍WOW BBQueen is Big. Way cool that is really interesting, thanks for Sharing.
@dcsblessedbees They are super cool. But difficult to relocate, although I try. They oftentimes abandon the nest.
I had one build a nest in one of my swarm traps this past spring.
That thing ain't fitting in a queen cage.
190,000 on the old Ford! I have 280,000 on my Yukon XL! Crazy how many miles we get out of vehicles now days!
@rodneymiddleton9624 2002 . My chevy van has 286K, still have it. Needs some transmission work, but runs great.
@@libertybellbeekeepers On my Yukon when I fixed all of the oil leaks I had a transmission guy rebuild the transmission while I had it out. That saved me time later.
Ladder removals that high up is such a pain and hard on the feet! Thanks Craig!!!
High on the job again I see. Cool camera.
Depending on what part of the country you are in, its been called a bird / squirell box.
@@dennistaylor7653 aptly named then! 😆
Do you still use this?
No, I ended up getting a metal fruit press but found that just doing a crush and strain works much better for me because I can walk away from it.
nice
That's cool!! We have 2 Harley Road Kings.
I like the new faster way to get to swarms!!!!
@rodneymiddleton9624 use it for consultations all the time.
@@libertybellbeekeepers Awesome!
thats Pretty Dam Cool... Looking GOOD!
I see them in my garden everyday. Never see bees. They do a good job of pollinating my garden.
Have you noticed that there are some type of other nest where the bees make their hives in voids? I see it a lot. Thanks Craig!
Find honeybees near old wasp nests and vice versa, all the time.
First!!!!
We haven’t had any rain in about 4 weeks and it’s so dry. Beautiful Colony Craig!
You just did a hive removal on my house😅
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Nice and small but healthy looks like.
You got her!!!!!!
Great job Craig!!! I have a double 40 feet of the ground in each end of a soffit coming up this weekend. Wish me luck!
Good luck, strap in, be safe.
@@libertybellbeekeepers Thanks partner!
That comb was beautiful!!! That's easy to frame up if it's not too soft. Thanks Craig!
So what do you do with all the swarms you remove? Keep, give away?
Gigando beehive!
Nice work! Do you repair those jobs?
Yes, most times.
@@libertybellbeekeepers Cool!
WOW, awesome
How do you do that
Just like I did it in the video! Thanks for watching
I don't know what's up with this season. Same is going on here waaaaaaaayy too early.
Honey Drunk!! Robbing is pretty bad here too. Thanks!
What luck!!!!!!! Thanks!
That’s too freaking cool! Never seen that before! Thanks!
Two things I've never seen. A brood cell being capped, and a wax flake being attached.
Yeah, that would be cool to see. Maybe catch it in an observation hive.
Awesome!
Nice work Craig!
For sure!!!
my goddness that colony is huge,, good for you its a monster,,
I have a bumblebee nest that I rescued. Thanks!
Thats a beautiful open-air colony. Those I try to hang a plastic tote under them to catch everything. Thanks Craig!
Nice looking colony Craig! I did one yesterday through a 5 inch bathroom vent hole that filled 2 bee vac canisters and the size was crazy. I filled 1 58 qt. tote and half of another. It was a drippy mess with temps in the upper 80's. Thanks!
What do you do with all these beautiful (maybe untreated) bees?
They are all untreated as far as I know. They come home with me. Some go out for honey production. Others stay in my breeding yard. Survivors go up for sale next year.
Gotta love a easy one! Thanks Craig!
I love raccoons
Those raccoons???
ye
Yes, sounded like a few of them in there.
Wtf it was already in a cage tho?? 😂
😆That other contraption is for marking the queen with a water based marker that signifies the year she was born.
@@libertybellbeekeepers lol 😂 I get that but it’s like you already have her captured in a sort of cage so “how to get her in a cage” is nonsense bc she’s not flying around she’s just being moved from one to another 😅
Awesome job!!!!
