The negative is it's not as good as the sr-jv80-04 in terms of quality samples and patches, some of the samples are missing from the vintage board but you do get some great drum kits especially the CR-78.
You got a very good deal. It is a great sound module just when you compare it to the SR-JV80-04 board it's not as good. I hope you enjoy it. BTW there are slightly different patches on it to the jv board.
I also have one. I love it! The only thing I have to complain about is that you can hear a little digital distortion on higher notes, as using the pitch wheel.
It is a really great board for any JV XV JD synth. If you want the full complement of Mellotron sounds you have to get this one and SR-JV80-08 keys of 60s & 70s.
I've been for long time trying to listen to preset 228, one called Are Am Eye ... would it be possible to listen to it? It means quite a lot to me, doing some research on a classic electronic music song. Thanks
What keyboard do you have? Fantom S/XP synth? I have only used this board in my JV1080. There must be a function button on the front panel that allows you to choose between USER-CARD and EXPANSION patches. Hope this helps.
In a Roland XP series after installing, go to the Patch mode and hold dowh the Shift button as you tap a number from 5-8 (representing one of the four internal board slots. Scroll through the patch list just as you would for the internal sounds. BTW, make a note of the number you found; You'll need this number if you plan to reach this card's particular wave table. (Per the XP-50/80, tap the Edit button, tap the 4th button on the grid (for Wave parameters, then tap the Edit button so its light goes out.)
And yes other clueless sighties, I'm a totally congenitally blind person describing a totally sighted process... Music's not about looking, it's feeling.
Sorry no sample but I do know the patch you mean. Pretty good for it's day but probably doesn't compare to newer synths. This board excels at synth, mellotron type sounds. I think the organs on SR-JV80-08 keys of 60s & 70s has a greater palate of organs plus some great mellotron sounds as well.
Can't check at the moment as my synths are in storage but I can tell you there are many parameters that you can change on the JV synths so if it isn't to your liking you can adjust it to sound how you want.
I'd suggest the 4 and 8 cards proper for true retro yester-year sequencing. You'll get tears in tyour eyes just hearing modern takes of songs done in a classic stance.
Awesome! One of the best synth/song intros, ever! Nice demo BTW. I have a SR-JV80-04 board & use it in my JV1010 & XV5080. I have about a dozen SR-JV & SRX boards. SR-JV80-04 is my favorite one.
yeah just had to take my one apart as the red glue of death was starting to happen but by luck i got it in time to change the epoxy before it leaked inside the keybed and on the circuit boards but yeah they are good synths and have a nice day bye
Just got a Roland m-VS1 but cannot play it until tonight ! Cant wait

abrokenframe82 that's what I read, but the 04 card is hard to find / expensive and I got the M-VS1 for 65$. can't have everything! hehe

03:10 and 07:44 Roland typical pad sound! 😍 Sounds like the ORBit Pad on the JV. And many others.
Beautiful sounds...
nice video thanks. very musical/ pleasing
Thanks for the kind words.
Ahh, PhD (I won't let you down). Brings back some memories.
monstrous track. most underrated keyboardist
I may have to get this just for the Mellotron flute sounds. Very cool.

I layered the patch at 4:28 with an octave raised Tron Flute and got instant tears just hearing the layer.
Tenho uma dessas em meu Teclado Roland XP 80. Tooooop 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻👊🏻😊
Cool! Not bad at all.

Sorry don't have the board anymore. I think it's mean't to be a patch based on the RMI mono synth and if I remember it wasn't anything special.
I should have a JV-1080 and the Vintage Synth card this week and could absolutely get this together for you if you’re still searching
Yes please@@Reroute836
What preset is at 07:09 of Photographic Depeche Mode
Vito Cola 092 poly flange
Thank you
All I ever wanted, All I ever needed is here in my arms.

Hey I just installed my vintage synth card but can’t access the sounds. Could you tell me how to get them in the keyboard? Thanks!

Lonesome hill is a patch from the Expansion?
Yes it is.
How is 215 patch Dirty Purple?? any sample of that?
Sorry no sample but I do know the patch you mean. Pretty good for it's day but probably doesn't compare to newer synths. This board excels at synth, mellotron type sounds. I think the organs on SR-JV80-08 keys of 60s & 70s has a greater palate of organs plus some great mellotron sounds as well.
supposedly patch NUmber 215 is Dirty Purple(organ, hammond) just wondering if its a clear distortion or more muffled sounding?

In the 8 card, note the insane variety of Rhodes and organ-type waveforms/patches.
Which patch is the one used to play "Just Can't Get Enough"?
I think it was 020 Prophetic.
+abrokenframe82 you sure it wasn't 014 OBig Poly?
OK just had another listen whilst playing my XV5080 and I can confirm it is 026 Poly Palette.
please which pad is 2:36 welke nr is dit dank je.
I think it's patch 17 Thick Matrix followed by patch 20 Prophetic.
@@abrokenframe82 Thank you verry much🎸👍
what is that song from at 02:14
I won't let you down by PHD 1982. th-cam.com/video/EIY7xPtZWn0/w-d-xo.html
thank you as I know I heard it before but could,nt think who made it

Thanks for liking the demo. There is still a lot of mileage in the old JV synths especially when expanded.
yeah just had to take my one apart as the red glue of death was starting to happen but by luck i got it in time to change the epoxy before it leaked inside the keybed and on the circuit boards but yeah they are good synths and have a nice day bye
