- I kill a few mobs in the Overthere while comparing and contrasting Ranger Headshot with Rogue Assassination. Upshot, I prefer headshot for outdoor zones.

I played from 99 to 15, idk why I keep watching eq videos, I tried to go back once and it just didn't have the magic for me anymore. Was main 110bard, and 2 trueboxes, 102necro, and 103mage. Pets and mercs made a decent group. But it was slow because I wasn't using any crazy xp farms. Just kinda doing my own thing chasing clickies and illusions mostly haha
Pretty sure 110 bard.. maybe 105. Whatever max was at the time
Most of my friends have quit EQ for various reasons. I still enjoy the game, but mainly I like to group up with people learning the game. I'll keep playing, but I understand those who quit.
Don't rogues get some kind of bonus to throwing attacks? Assassination can go off that also. 15 delay. But I think it's only critical attacks. So it's up in the air which is better.

Thanks for the video, the UI should be cleaned up and condensed down towards the bottom of the screen, but the MAIN thing you need to do is stop using the keyboard to move :) MUCH MUCH more precise movement and FASTER movement by using mouse, typically in 3rd person so you can see better around you.
erm you also have a spell line that can headshot......hail of arrows line

Your ranger definately need more H dex, HS ratio was really awful. Stuff it with H dex and it goes up a LOT.I can also see that you are playing the rogue a lot better as you mention. You just need practice with the ranger. Now wether you will play it enough to get it. well we'll see in a later vid i guess:)
Yes. I've never played a ranger. I used my friend's ranger to get a sense of the difference between headshot and assassination and have some fun. I'm so tied up in Beta right now, doing the raids I'm not really having time to play with my alts. But I will definitely put more HDex on the ranger if I do play him. I always go HDex with my dps melee classes, but the ranger was just geared in whatever.

Root takes away alot of dps on the ranger because you can't double shot. Most people don't know that. The mob has to be standing still. Can be snared, but not rooted. So, in a group with a tank you will do more damage if mob is not rooted. Not saying you will do more than the rogue though. But it's hard to compare the damage of the classes if you are going against rooted mobs.
With root it is standing still. With snare it's still moving just slower. So your say kite headshot with snare don't root will cause more damage or headshot to proc more often.
Do you have a leveling guide for areas to go to HS based on level? I'm at level 78 at the moment.
The current iteration of Howling Stones is primarily meant for 105+ classes. It really depends on your class. At 78, if you were a necro, I'd suggest Loping Planes crocodiles until you are in the 81+ range. Any kiting, root-rotting class would do well with those targets as they are slow and rootable, snareable.

@@nathanielgeorge1398 My mistake, the TH-cam interface doesn't make it easy for me to see what Video you're commenting on. At 78, you're in between Blacksail Swashbucklers and Stormguard Knights for the Barren Coast zone and C1 plane of fire. Can also do Calling Emoush Goblins at 79 I believe. I didn't main a ranger and started my rogue at 85, so you may get better advice elsewhere, but those are my thoughts.
White, yellow and red mobs headshot isn’t as good with lower con mobs.

Could be awhile as I don't have a high level ranger. But I know there is a demand so I'll look into leveling one.
