I'm in a discord server with a bunch of people who believe theyre genuinely characters from various media (I'm honestly in the server just for a friend). they'll talk about how they miss their 'friends' (other characters from the same media) and their 'memories' from the media and they all have in their bios 'if you're a double of me, don't interact with me'. they constantly say they aren't delusional but they very clearly are and I don't mean that with malice.

It seems like to me Jane is an abuser. It's the same type of situation you often see in domestic abuse. Where the abuser acts out but then apologizes, then does it all over again. Only in an online space. People who use this method of abuse often think that they can just apologize and everything will be OK, often not actually taking the time to self reflect on their actions and the harm it's caused. They might even say like Jane has that they need to step away to re-evaluate but that is just to appease the masses. When in reality they just want everyone to forgive them. It will honestly happen over and over until someone manages to point out and get through to Jane that this is what she is doing or people stop forgiving her, which probably won't happen.

Nah. Being called "transphobic" isn't the death blow people act like it is. At least, not anymore. Too many people on that side of the isle like to use "transphobic" as the fall back for when they can't win a debate or literally anyone disagrees with them. Here's the thing about trans activism (from someone who's incredibly vocal about trans and LGBT+ rights): There is absolutely nothing wrong with spreading trans positivity in a video game, sometimes it's especially good for telling off bad-acts who want to act like they're welcome; be the bar tender that kicks those people out of their booths and make the others feel welcome and safe in their restaurant. But don't be so paranoid over every slightly negative interaction, only the most obvious ones. Trust me, I've been addicted to Twitter, I was like that two years ago. I only really caused more harm jumping to extreme conclusions. I know the beef has been squashed between the two here, but like, Jane needs to seriously self-reflect more before she has another outburst like this. It's understandable that people mess up and I understand that emotions are high particularly for people within the trans community with the constant bad-hands they are dealt with on a day to day basis, so much so that it's obvious the house is against them (again, coming from someone who fits into the trans label for being gender-fluid). But to go into a very familiar pattern of tirades within barely two months of each other after claiming to have "reflected" is concerning. She needs to remember what image she's promoting, and I'm not saying she needs to have a perfect image because she's trans (again, no one person on Earth is perfect), but because she's a vocal activist for this stuff, campaigning for a better environment for the trans DBD community. The pattern of blaming and gaslighting because she thinks a completely unrelated action or a simple misunderstanding is transphobic, like you said, actively harms that cause. On one final note, I think it’s fine identifying through a fictional character; if a character is relatable enough to you, that’s fair. Hell, I’m not afraid to admit I identify through Claudette, Steve, and Hillbilly for differing reasons each, but I understand someone not liking to go against either of the characters for whatever reason isn’t a reflection on myself, rather game-balance, game interactions or both (except admittedly, I have it really easy when a majority of players wants to go against/with a Steve or Hillbilly). I just find it really ironic that Jane takes someone hating Skull Merchant personally when she could have been looking through the eyes of Laser at that moment when he played as Nurse, another killer that people hate going against, that even SHE hated going against.
As someone who used to follow her for her positive mindset in the DBD community, she changed A LOT. I am not sure what made her take that turn but I had to unfollow and remove myself from her circle. She has played the victim a lot and especially after unnecessary callouts on people, she can't handle it when people disagrees with her. It's very sad. I think she needs to disassociate herself with the community as a whole as clearly it's not good for her mental health.

This is why I've been saying to think critically about how you try to alter your personality and behavior towards others. If you're a "trans" individual, great!, I wish you all the best with your life choices and hope you find happiness, much the same way I would wish happiness and joy on anyone and everyone else. It seems like to me Jane is an abuser. It's the same type of situation you often see in domestic abuse. Where the abuser acts out but then apologizes, then does it all over again. Only in an online space. People who use this method of abuse often think that they can just apologize and everything will be OK, often not actually taking the time to self reflect on their actions and the harm it's caused. They might even say like Jane has that they need to step away to re-evaluate but that is just to appease the masses. When in reality they just want everyone to forgive them. It will honestly happen over and over until someone manages to point out and get through to Jane that this is what she is doing or people stop forgiving her, which probably won't happen.

Nah. Being called "transphobic" isn't the death blow people act like it is. At least, not anymore. Too many people on that side of the isle like to use "transphobic" as the fall back for when they can't win a debate or literally anyone disagrees with them. It's been thrown around so much, most people don't take it as the "career killer" they want it to be. It's just a bunch of eye rolling and people thinking "look, someone can't take criticism".

BUT, like 2 weeks prior or more? Here's the thing about trans activism (from someone who's incredibly vocal about trans and LGBT+ rights):
There is absolutely nothing wrong with spreading trans positivity in a video game, sometimes it's especially good for telling off bad-acts who want to act like they're welcome; be the bar tender that kicks those people out of their booths and make the others feel welcome and safe in their restaurant. But don't be so paranoid over every slightly negative interaction, only the most obvious ones. Trust me, I've been addicted to Twitter, I was like that two years ago. I only really caused more harm jumping to extreme conclusions.
I know the beef has been squashed between the two here, but like, Jane needs to seriously self-reflect more before she has another outburst like this. It's understandable that people mess up and I understand that emotions are high particularly for people within the trans community with the constant bad-hands they are dealt with on a day to day basis, so much so that it's obvious the house is against them (again, coming from someone who fits into the trans label for being gender-fluid). But to go into a very familiar pattern of tirades within barely two months of each other after claiming to have "reflected" is concerning. She needs to remember what image she's promoting, and I'm not saying she needs to have a perfect image because she's trans (again, no one person on Earth is perfect), but because she's a vocal activist for this stuff, campaigning for a better environment for the trans DBD community. The pattern of blaming and gaslighting because she thinks a completely unrelated action or a simple misunderstanding is transphobic, like you said, actively harms that cause.
On one final note, I think it’s fine identifying through a fictional character; if a character is relatable enough to you, that’s fair. Hell, I’m not afraid to admit I identify through Claudette, Steve, and Hillbilly for differing reasons each, but I understand someone not liking to go against either of the characters for whatever reason isn’t a reflection on myself, rather game-balance, game interactions or both (except admittedly, I have it really easy when a majority of players wants to go against/with a Steve or Hillbilly). I just find it really ironic that Jane takes someone hating Skull Merchant personally when she could have been looking through the eyes of Laser at that moment when he played as Nurse, another killer that people hate going against, that even SHE hated going against.
As someone who used to follow her for her positive mindset in the DBD community, she changed A LOT. I am not sure what made her take that turn but I had to unfollow and remove myself from her circle. She has played the victim a lot and especially after unnecessary callouts on people, she can't handle it when people disagrees with her. It's very sad. I think she needs to disassociate herself with the community as a whole as clearly it's not good for her mental health.
I was following her and liked some replies about her needing help and apparently she is going through each of her followers profiles, looking at their likes, and blocking them. This is so obsessive--I never said one thing to her on Twitter and going through a stranger's likes is borderline insanity.

This is why I've been saying to think critically about how you try to alter your personality and behavior towards others. If you're a "trans" individual, great!, I wish you all the best with your life choices and hope you find happiness, much the same way I would wish happiness and joy on anyone and everyone else. But if being "trans" is the only "redeeming quality" you focus on yourself and you push on others...you're just looking for attention and trying to make others out to be villains in your "main character story."
