It’s always nice to see he inner workings of these cars. Either way keep up the great work.

Check out the solder joint slightly above and to the right of the White dot. Looks cracked to me.

Also... I noticed that there is NO jumping of the tachometer while cranking. This usually (not sure exactly about this particular model) suggests that there's possibly no signal from crankshaft position sensor...which I believe is what the car uses to know when to run the fuel pump.
I'd avoid guesswork here, as im SURE you know, you will end up spending a lot of unnecessary $ on parts that aren't faulty. I also don't think your car has N118, that is only on newer models from what I understand. You really need to get a scanner!

I just realized this, but actually the scanner I linked (deleted?) probably wont work for you. I think your car still was using the 38-pin diagnosis connector inside the underhood fusebox for diagnosis. Even though it also has the OBDII port under the dash, that is ONLY for emissions, and will not allow access to the rest of the cars systems! Sorry! :(

@@Johnathan_Waters Interesting. When I enter my vin into the documentation database a reference to the N118 comes up. I'll have to recheck.

@@kennethcroll6972 I've tried this, it did not work. Did this work for you? I'm fairly certain that you can't just "adapt" the connections, you need a device in between to interface. (Like the multiplexer/mux for instance)

Where did you get the service manual? You said it was a VMware manual? Hmmm. Sounds like a clone.

Ebay. Just search for Mercedes Repair Service Manual on Ebay. It's the real stuff. It's just crammed into a VMware engine that you download.

@@Engineerd3d Takes a long time to download. Massive amount of data and the ftp server on the other end is slow. Also make sure you do a checksum of each file per the instructions. I had to re-download some of the files several times to ensure the files were not corrupted. Kind of pain but for the price is worth it. This is why I was thinking of making a video on the installation.
      Good luck.
