maybe try finding a purple conditioner, since shampoo strips your hair of moisture, especially if your going to leave it for a while like so, I know it was a fun experiment, but I also think a conditioner, will show/do more, as hair absorbs conditioner for softness and moisture, while shampoo, takes out oil and dirt, and strips the hair, the results are cute, but I do think a conditioner would be a better option to try in general.
