I'm not a slipcover guy but this seems fine to me - whatever makes your collection the most aesthetically pleasing to you is the way to go. As an old-timer who can remember the days before VHS (and Beta), my only caution would be don't think of your collection as an "investment." No one knows what the future holds and what formats will be treasured in the future. While it's possible your collection could be as valuable as classic vinyl records, it's also possible your movies will one day be as worthless as DVDs and VHS tapes. Enjoy your collection for the pleasure it gives you today.

To me this seems really extra but I can see the appeal. I have plastic protectors on my steelbooks because they kept scratching and on my autographed blu-rays so the ink lasts longer.
I've been doing this for awhile now, I actually also use hard clear plastic covers in which I purchase them also on eBay. Makes a difference in the life of the steelbooks and slipcovers. Thanks for the review. Oh. on Hannibal , do you have any info on Red Dragon 4k release possible ? Hopefully soon to complete the set. Thanks
You can also remove plastic from above and then removing the case inside. Of course with Disney releases this moost of time was not possible. Was but those days i believe Warner is only one who give slipcovers and then only with series. Disney was first who quite and sadley enough Fox and Universal followed. Even now without sleeves somitimes i try to remove on way i can at it back and i always keep a lot of seald til i wach it. For cd's or single's i use sometimes the plastic protecter from birthday cards.
Wow... interesting. I have original CDs and DVDs... even have original VHS tapes... wonder if there's a market for those. Some are really old classics... all the way into the timeless classics. P.s. I just checked and it seems that almost all the DVDs have protective plastic on the covers from the factory... are you saying that we need to replace those with better seals? Is it worth it for DVDs?

I only protect things I enjoy so far i got one Godzilla movie in an acrylic hard case.
Very good choice, Mason. I personally use clear hard cases but either way its important to protect that slip.
I’m tempted for my steels and those hard cases can get up there in price.

Depends on the movie really. But for the most part VHS and DVDs are worth next to nothing unless it’s a rare release.

I protect my steelbooks but it’s like $25 for a pack of 25 I think so not too bad. I don’t do the bags on slips but I kinda wanna
