Brother John!! Get a hair cut hippie!! :)) Man, I dig that color, that is killer!! John, I actually bought an acoustic Epiphone Excellente!!! There's only 40 being shipped into Canada, and I got one because a few weeks back I asked my local music shop buddy John to find one for me. He told me he hadn't heard of one in years. So, last week he calls me and tells me he found one!! Epiphone has built a very limited run as part of their "Master Built" series and hadn't told any of the dealers yet, so it was pure good luck timing that he called before anyone knew they were coming, and he got one for me!!! They're retailing at $1,700 Canadian. I sold my Casino, and my Seagull Maritime is for sale to pay for it. I never believed I would EVER sell either of these guitars! I absolutely LOVE my Casino, and my Seagull is the very best acoustic I've ever played, and I've played a BUCH!! The Excellente are so amazing in quality, playability, and tone with aesthetics to boot! I haven't been this stupid excited since grade 6 when "jugs" Sue Cook agreed to "go around with me"!! LOL! Hi Jon, nice sounding, stunning colour and I like the wood grain on the fretboard. Watching foreigners posting videos of rehersal National Day fly past with the flag, brought back memories, with pride. Even though I've switched to the Maple Leaf, I still consider Singapore, home. nice,i have a g and l legacy usa from 97,one of my fave guitars,only thing that pissed me off,was not long after i had it,something fell out of the trem cavity, so i now have a floppy trem,and its a thick bar, and can hit the jack when i let it go,and i like the trem to be where it was when i bought it,though all round its a better trem system than on a fender strat.my legacy also has the best bridge sound of all my strats fender/levinson blade mij/charvel etc nice tasteful playing as allways jon

Back then he couldn't afford it so I put a smile on his face by buying it for him as a long term present. I already owned a Comanche. As you are aware I've expanded my G&L collection somewhat over the past few years. You have a Comanche so my question is how different is the S 500? It has the same layout and switching choices. Can you hear a noticeable difference between the straight MFDs of the S 500 and the Z coils?

Friend was a G&L and Fender dealer so he and I had plenty of time to compare each companies offerings. Overall G&L had better QC. Their older import Tribute line with ash bodies are killer and mint condition ones can be had used around $400 USD. Your skill on the guitar is the best promo G&L could hope for. 😎🎸
Don’t blame G&L … you bought a Placentia and not a Tribute (or Fullerton). You thought you were getting a deal… I did the same when the Placentia line was first introduced…
I too like the visible wood-grains on the fretboard... but I like the look of wood. I know so many folks who hate the look of wood and demand it's painted over. I wish they'd take up asphalt painting instead. Or concrete. Bricks, whatever. Not wood.
