Jamie Addams THQ were just publishers, the same developing team (YUKES) that worked with THQ still develops with 2K. If THQ were still publishing games then people would just complain on the internet and blame them for all the flaws within the game like they were doing when they were active.
King Bradberry road to wm was replaced by the attitude era mode in 13, then the 30 years of wm then we started getting the showcase modes, the reason why they were bad COMPARED to the road to wm ones is because unlike in road to wm you're just replaying what happened during that year. Don't get me wrong tho they put effort into them and that's good but I prefer the old original story mixed in with some elements that happened during the year of road to WM

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I loved the Jack Swagger / Rey Mysterio / Evan Bourne storyline in SVR 2011. Not only is it underrated, but it's ten times better than anything WWE does currently on television which is sad. I did both the face and heel scenarios, but I always mostly had Rey as a heel since it was such a rarity.
The voice acting when people were inside the ring is kinda corny in these games, not even gonna lie Except for Shawn, Randy, Edge and Christian, Triple H was kinda eh...
The fact that the wrestlers actually talked in their promos all the way back then when in 2k17 and 2k18 they don't even talk is so sad it's not even funny. Why do all the new games suck now?
think about it just a little. wrestlers would have to take time off in their already busy schedules to go recording. and if you think that is something that gets done in one day ... you’re in for a surprise

Secondly, adding so many voices for a yearly game on short notice is expensive and intensive, and usually results in a more linear campaign to accommodate it. Compare Here Comes the Pain and Just Bring it and how they brought so much freedom, with 09-12’s RTWM mode that had few characters with lots of stories to ‘06-8’s much more linear style. Adding so many voices exponentially increases the cost of divergent choices
It’s sad that games made 7 years ago not only look better than modern games, but appeared to play better and have voices for the wrestlers. Wtf were they thinking with 2k18.
What I loved about this SvR games is that you could actually become the Face or Heel and you weren't shoe-horned into follow a particular storyline like many other games.

The Road to WrestleMania storylines really had some bad potholes in them, but I think the reason why cashing on Edge was a heel turn was because Edge had turned face while this game was being made. Although the confusing part was that it had updated Batista as a heel, Cena as WWE Champion, but Rey Mysterio was the World Heavyweight Champion.
Another good video that gave me a stroll down memory lane! I enjoyed when I was able to branch storylines, and bring back old teams. Trivia: Cesaro did the cutscene mocap for Jack Swagger - years before they’d team together. He also did the cutscene mocap for Edge. Because Cesaro is amazing! And Seanbaby helped a lot with the Edge & Christian dialog because he’s awesome.
I noticed that, it seemed like an Edge heel turn with that Chair. Maybe Christian turned heel and then that chair shot was a double turn so Christian was a heel for just a short bit?
That 1st story is so crazy I love it! It’s what make wrestling’s storyline great. It’s like when Rikishi ran over Steve Austin and admitted to it, but instead of going to jail for a Hit and Run, they wrestle each other to solve the conflict.

Rey Mysterio- Rey basically tells Swagger to F off before Rey's WrestleMania match with Evan Bourne, and if Rey wins, he fights Swagger defending his title again. If Rey loses, he congratulates Bourne. Christian- Edge and Christian make up at the end of Christian's story.

I never got how in storyline they changed the Edge and Christian characters from being brothers to best friends like Adam Copeland and Jason Reso are in real life.

I never got how in storyline they changed the Edge and Christian characters from being brothers to best friends like Adam Copeland and Jason Reso are in real life.

Wrong. The Rey & Swagger one was 2011 and so was Edge and Christian but Evolution/DX was 2009, not 2011.
At SmackDown vs RAW 2011 I played the Rey Storyline twice. One as he don't accept the apology and then when he turns heel because I want to see what happened

Tbh besides Rey in most of them I preferred The face option, because with Triple H bringing back D-Generation X you covered Evolution in goo, and Christian I always cashed in against Shawn Michaels because then you celebrated with Edge at Wrestlemania playing the kazoo.
