it was a reference to THE ROCK & MANDKIND uncanny tag team. both of them had fierce rivalry in January 1999 and then some times in late 1999 out of nowhere they were told to be partners. to ease the situation Mandkind bought a birthday cake for The Rock. The correct answer would be "Today is not my birthday" just like on original TV version

You forgot Rey Mysterio's RTWM in SDvR 2011 where Jack Swagger is revealed to be behind the "accident" then you have a choice to either refuse Swaggers apology or accept it and turn on Evan Bourne and turn heel

One of my favourite heel turns is is in The Season Mode of Smackdown Vs Raw 2006, when during the ECW invasion storyline you can betray Smackdown and join RVD.

Man 2k love them some Rock in my career with 16 he canes back and you face, 18 he cames back and you face him and with 20 he cames back again you have to eliminate him in the Royal Rumble

Good video ThisGenGaming, Yeah wwe 2k16 had the most heelish turns ever. I dont know if wwe 2k18 had any in career mode or not, I just know I always got screwed over in 2k18's career mode and same with 2k19's
Speaking on the Shane hating Richards thing. I know in the world title path that Richards replaced Big Show, but idk if he did so in the Tag titles path, that's my only thought as to why Shane hates Richards so much (shane had a rivalry with Big Show back then didn't he? I can't recall) either way it's funny seeing superstars who are otherwise low or mid card only get main event pushes in WWE games. Actually that could make for an interesting video topic if you haven't done it before "low-mid card Superstars who got main event pushes in WWE games" that'd be a fascinating vid. Anyway ranted long enough, found your channel like 2 days ago when it appeared in my recommendation feed and I've been binge watching it ever since, they're really entertaining videos, keep up the great work!!
I think that's actually because of how No Mercy was very rushed to completion leading to several weird things, most famous of all being the infamous bug that would randomly erase your data. It's likely that character slots were changed around late in development during which the story mode was already programmed, which leads to Steven Richards being a main eventer because why not. While it's technically an oversight, it's so entertaining that it ends up being more fun than annoying.

Tiny nitpick, but you failed to mention that in SVR2006, if you chose to manage Shelton, then at the next PPV Unforgiven, you will face HHH for his World Heavyweight Title. However, if you chose to stay backstage and turn heel, then you will face Shelton for his Intercontinental Title at Unforgiven.
Yeah I originally recorded about that part, but removed it for timing reasons. Probably should have left it in.
You also have the option to turn heel in the Smackdown story mode as well. Actually there are two ways. One is after winning the Royal Rumble match and Teddy Long returns with John Cena as WWE Champion. That's after choosing to team with John Cena during the rising point of the "Who Run Down Teddy Long?" storyline. The other is after winning the Royal Rumble with RVD as WWE Champion but that option was given to you in the middle of the game's ECW Invasion angle.
That Triple H/Goldberg cake segment at the beginning would have fans upset nowadays

Steven Richards character originally was Big Show. That is why Richards was left in that angle on the No Mercy game.
You forgot smack down vs raw 06, ecw revival path betraying smack down and beating big show in a bar, this makes you heel for the rest of the game

These old wrestling games look like they have a lot more choices, customization and more fun than the new 2k wrestling games.

Smack down vs Raw 2006? Smack Down storyline, the one who rundown Teddy with car. By accusing RvD it will be turn out later that your character is the one who rundown the general manager. And you'll be the heel until the end of season mode.
