I must admit when I was playing the game I cringed and scoffed at Prompto's "ability" of taking photos. By the end, it was clear what it was meant for - to capture the journey and genuine memories of virtual comrades which felt very real and tangible by the end. And that "last photo" that Noctis had to choose? If you genuinely chose a memorable photo, the emotional payoff is well worth the price of admission despite the game's flaws. Well played, Square. He showed me Final Fantasy XV and we had a fun time drinking while exploring the game. I recently played the game for myself and the games theme of brotherhood hit me really hard in the heart, I miss him every single day and it feel’s unfair that this world goes on without the people we love. I wish he could have seen the Gta 6 trailer, I wish he could have married his girlfriend, I wish so many things that I will never see materialize but we’re still here to do those things people we lost could not. The thing that people don't seem to understand about this game is that it isn't a typical FF story, and that doesn't make it bad. This is the theme song for a reason. Right from the start you know it's a road trip game with these four, the main focus is them and their relationship. That's why for a good chunk of the game it's just open world exploration and getting to know these guys. They want you to form a bond with them, go on a journey. The destination and details don't matter. It is quite literally almost exactly like Stand By Me the movie, just with a grander scope. The game, just like the film, is a coming of age story between friends and how their experiences together shapes who they become. Also I'm gonna be honest, this is the only FF I've played besides Crisis Core where I cared about any of the characters in the story. Zack along with Noctis and the gang are incredibly relatable and realistic and some of the best written characters not just in FF but games in general. It pisses me off when people trash this game because it's not a typical FF. Well no it's not, but it's the kickstart the series needed into a fresh and better change imo.
Ellie i think most people (excluding the crybabies who cry because of the arpg gameplay) are disappointed because the story is so incomplete as most characters like luna, ravus, the 2 kings and the empire in general get very little to no screentime oh and they die off screen and that's it for them. also tenebrae, altissia, nifleheim, insomnia... most of the game we're just doing fetch quests that feel too repetitive and don't contribute to the lore, like the frog quests or vegetable quests. all that said, i still loved the gameplay, ost, story despite incompletion, but it's just way too incomplete because it was 'taking too long to release'. i wouldn't have minded waiting 1-2 years more it's already approaching 1year mark and they're taking forever to release 1hour dlcs + additional content.
If it includes them among the story, the game might has too much things to tell at a time. And SE won't have another chance to release other FFXV-100 (?) for more profits. (Just kidding XD) I have a different point that some say they should talk more about the love between King Regis and Noctis. However, I like this part. This is a RPG. When you're playing the game, you get into the character. If you're Noctics, what is the last image for Father in your mind? For me, I will always remember my Daddy, Regis' last look and what he said to me. But I can meet him no more. After that, every time I watch the scene, I just can't help myself. It's because I have the same situation as Noct. (but not for Dad.) I have a lot of feelings for FFXV, but I'm not the game player. (So I have no ideas about the gameplay techniques ). I just admire the story, music, and the art of FF. SE should complete the XV. The story and the characters are all good. FFXV was my very first FF game and goddamn was it a whole new experience to building relationships with characters. Everything, from the beginning to the end was leading up to the ending and the feels that you will experience. At first I thought the photos were kinda corny, but looking back at them at the end of the game and getting hit with a truck of flashbacks and all the things I did and experienced was a joy. This game will definitely go down as a game I will remember forever.

I was shocked to hear a licensed song in Final Fantasy, and I thought it was cute when it played at the start. But when it played at the ending, I literally cried, and I generally don't cry for anything.
What I feel that people miss when they criticize FFXV is that it wasn’t a story of saving the world. It’s a story of the friendships and bonds formed with our loved ones. Bonds that last through the test of time and even death. You saving the world is just a little mashed potatoes on the side. The steak is the road trip.

Man, I played FFXV just by random choice scrolling through PSnow and it turned out to be one of my favorite games, ever. The game does a great job at making you love the main characters. i randomly got the game back in 2017 when my dad picked it up from the store. little did i know that day when my hands touched that controller to play, it was gonna be my favorite game to ever play. they all deserved such a happier ending. i wish there was a way to play out iggy's alternate ending in episode ignis instead of bits and pieces of those cut scenes. wither way, the alternate ending will always be the true ending in my eyes. the devs did phenomenal on this game. idk so many people hate it.

this quote is so poignant because it literally sums up the whole series- their lives are wayward and Noctis isn't the perfect king, but that doesn't matter because the core of it all is their friendship and their adventure, and the fact that through all the shit that happens to them, they remain together and stand by one another. That, paired with this song, and the ending of the game, makes for an absolute masterpiece of an adventure

I’ve heard this song long before the game. Like... probably way to many years before it. And I didn’t truly catch what they were saying at the start of the game using this song, until it started playing at the end (especially with the subtitles on), god... it’s amazing. Now I’m gonna go replay Red Dead Redemption 2 for some more crying in the end. I always seem to pick the games that make me cry like a baby in the end. This game introduced me to Final Fantasy. I remember when I first got it. I had about $266 bucks because of my birthday and I was in a mall, so I decided to hit the local Game Stop to browse some games. There wasn’t any games that caught my interest until I saw this game with the day one edition. I thought since so many people talked so much praise about the Final Fantasy series I said fuck it and bought the game. Let me tell you what happened next. I spent over 170 hours on the game completing everything and never getting bored once. The bonds I built with boys, the road trip, and the ending all acumoliatmed to this game becoming my favorite game of all time.

I choose the very first Pic they took, because, for me, it's like, a picture of five friends and yes, I count the Regalia as a party member 😅. Without it, the journey would never be the same. I was devastated when it got destroyed 😢. And I was never that interested in cars. I'm more of a "bike guy". By the way, the Pic of the beginning of the journey, choose to end it. It still hurts.
This song really fits the game. When you hear it the first time when they are pushing the car, it’s like, “oh that’s cute they’re friends” but it means so much more when it plays during the credits, and it means even more after playing through the Episode DLCs, because you get to watch them make the promise to protect Noctis no matter what, and to always stay by his side. The story of FFXV rivals even the best titles in the series, leaving players old and new astounded at the storytelling ability of this beautiful game, and the amazing people who made it.

He says that they told the story from Noctis's perspective. There were few parts in the game which they had to show what's going on behind the scene so the story makes sense but for the most part, The story is what Noctis is experiencing during his journey. DLCs are all fans requested. They didn't release DLCs to complete the game. The game has already been completed without DLCs. Because Hajime Tabata respected fans so much and released these DLCs doesn't mean the main game is incomplete. I have 100% respect for Hajime Tabata's work and his decisions.

It means a bit more in the game at the end when Noct basically tells the others that he has to die in order to save the world and he needs them to get him to keep him safe long enough so he can finish his mission, but they can't save him.
The game is about accepting that things don't always go your way and you may not get what you want, but you have to make the best of things and remember the good along the way too. Noctis, although bitter about having to give up his life, that he and Luna were both destined to die and his father knew and had to die as well, he still remembers the good times with his friends and the people of Lucis. The game is about the journey and the memories you make, living in the moment while you can because there will be a time when you have to accept responsibilities in your life and take action, whether it's as a bodyguard, a king or perhaps when you see someone on the side of the road. Ardyn is someone who never got a chance to go down in history, he never got his glory and couldn't really live with anybody, since he was a Daemon and immortal. Nobody would be able to form attachments and as such he is vengeful towards Lucis and the Crystal. He seems to want to hurt people more than he want's to kill them. He takes pleasure in harming Noctis, and Noctis's story is about him fighting through the pain and doing what has to be done. It's tragic because Noctis never feels he had enough time. One of the game's musical themes is "Too Much Is Never Enough", singing longfully about wanting more time with people you can't ever be with again, like Regis and Luna. But in the end, Noctis still had friends that stuck with him to the end, reinforcing the Final Fantasy themes of brotherhood enduring through the worst trails. - ArbyWorks

In the beginning it had the context of some friends going on a nice journey together. The ending... well... no spoilers. But it's amazing what a little bit of context can do to a simple song. Goes from a song with a happy excited tone to holy shit.

Every time I hear this song, I break down and cry like crazy. Final Fantasy XV gave me the feelings I had while playing final fantasy VII back in the days. Bonds and friendship between characters, sad and painful moments, that bitter taste in your mouth during frustrating cutscene and that insanely good ending. One of the best entry yet.

If you are starting FFXV, I only ask this: do not rush the game. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the journey as much as you can. I took about three months and it hit really hard! I love this game and, before it's release, I was completely jaded about it. I was like "four guys in a car!? What crap is this?!". It is a true Final Fantasy experience, even though the story is not perfect! It's one of my favorite games of all time and my 4th favorite FF title (only behind FFXIV, VI and IX).
Took me over at least a hundred hours each playthroughs. Totally worth it and this song kills me all the time because of it. What can I say, these guys are the best.
Taking your time and really just enjoying it for what it really is, 4 best friends on an epic road trip, a Bro-ad trip if you will, just makes it hit harder. Cause you get that connection, feeling like you're the 5th man on the voyage

Zephrix Xdial it had ASPECTS of a great story, unfortunately they failed miserably when put into action. the pacing was jorrendous, the characters were given no time to develop and they failed to flesh out the world
Basch152 I wish I could disagree, but your completely right. as of right now it seems like most of the world building and character development will be done in the dlc and patches sadly. I liked the game but I never got the Final Fantasy feeling I did with 7,8, and 9. It's not a bad game but with its framework a much better game could be made.
Basch152 I sadly have to agree as well... I was honestly getting some nostalgia with ff vi, and was expecting a major turning point upon meeting the emperor. There was to a degree, but it completely zip lined to the end, and I felt they missed a major opportunity to really give some purpose to him and their quest to take the crystal, counter to why the chancellor was after it. Luna's brother (hell, Luna as well) could've gotten much larger roles as their plan unfolded all throughout. I was totally fine with the sandbox, open world, I knew they had all the assets and models for Insomnia, and only getting to go back at the end and only for that small segment of the city was another waste. I did get incredibly attached to the characters nonetheless. There was more than enough banter between them to feel the bond they had with each other, but again, a lot of details and nuances felt rush and kept it far from perfect.
All About Smashing And that’s the best part, the emotions he can barely show himself come out without even having much audibly detectable sadness in his voice, the simple act of saying was enough to show he truly felt a heavy burden apologizing to his brothers...
*Spoilers for the ending of FFXV* I feel a certain kind of emotional while listening to this. At the beginning of the game you're like "this is nice, just an adventure with the boys" Then at the end you're in floods of tears, because you never wanted the adventure to end. You wanted to keep hunting monsters, going from place to place, taking photos with the gang. You know why Noctis had to die, but it still it just...sucks so much that Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio had to lose their brother. It's gonna take a long time for them to move on and learn to live without him. I'm perfectly fine with how it ended but...MAN does it get you right in the feels

I must admit when I was playing the game I cringed and scoffed at Prompto's "ability" of taking photos. By the end, it was clear what it was meant for - to capture the journey and genuine memories of virtual comrades which felt very real and tangible by the end.
And that "last photo" that Noctis had to choose? If you genuinely chose a memorable photo, the emotional payoff is well worth the price of admission despite the game's flaws.

Picking the final photo was the hardest part of the game, I had captured so many memorable moments, it was hard to pick. I finally went with the one that had everyone in, I thought it fit best.

He showed me Final Fantasy XV and we had a fun time drinking while exploring the game. I recently played the game for myself and the games theme of brotherhood hit me really hard in the heart, I miss him every single day and it feel’s unfair that this world goes on without the people we love. I wish he could have seen the Gta 6 trailer, I wish he could have married his girlfriend, I wish so many things that I will never see materialize but we’re still here to do those things people we lost could not. Sorry for your lost and thank the lord for media like this that can help us connect, video games like FFXV are more than games… they are a piece of art as much of a loser nerd thing that is to say.

The thing that people don't seem to understand about this game is that it isn't a typical FF story, and that doesn't make it bad. This is the theme song for a reason. Right from the start you know it's a road trip game with these four, the main focus is them and their relationship. That's why for a good chunk of the game it's just open world exploration and getting to know these guys. They want you to form a bond with them, go on a journey. The destination and details don't matter. It is quite literally almost exactly like Stand By Me the movie, just with a grander scope. The game, just like the film, is a coming of age story between friends and how their experiences together shapes who they become.
Also I'm gonna be honest, this is the only FF I've played besides Crisis Core where I cared about any of the characters in the story. Zack along with Noctis and the gang are incredibly relatable and realistic and some of the best written characters not just in FF but games in general. It pisses me off when people trash this game because it's not a typical FF. Well no it's not, but it's the kickstart the series needed into a fresh and better change imo.
Ellie i think most people (excluding the crybabies who cry because of the arpg gameplay) are disappointed because the story is so incomplete as most characters like luna, ravus, the 2 kings and the empire in general get very little to no screentime oh and they die off screen and that's it for them. also tenebrae, altissia, nifleheim, insomnia...
most of the game we're just doing fetch quests that feel too repetitive and don't contribute to the lore, like the frog quests or vegetable quests.
all that said, i still loved the gameplay, ost, story despite incompletion, but it's just way too incomplete because it was 'taking too long to release'.
i wouldn't have minded waiting 1-2 years more it's already approaching 1year mark and they're taking forever to release 1hour dlcs + additional content.
If it includes them among the story, the game might has too much things to tell at a time. And SE won't have another chance to release other FFXV-100 (?) for more profits. (Just kidding XD) I have a different point that some say they should talk more about the love between King Regis and Noctis. However, I like this part. This is a RPG. When you're playing the game, you get into the character. If you're Noctics, what is the last image for Father in your mind? For me, I will always remember my Daddy, Regis' last look and what he said to me. But I can meet him no more. After that, every time I watch the scene, I just can't help myself. It's because I have the same situation as Noct. (but not for Dad.)
I have a lot of feelings for FFXV, but I'm not the game player. (So I have no ideas about the gameplay techniques ). I just admire the story, music, and the art of FF. SE should complete the XV. I hope Florence knows how much of a blessing this cover was for me. My wife and I did this as our first dance for our wedding. We learned a choreographed song together and blew family and friends away. The original song was my grandfathers favorite song and he sadly passed before the weeding. FFXV was my very first FF game and goddamn was it a whole new experience to building relationships with characters. Everything, from the beginning to the end was leading up to the ending and the feels that you will experience. At first I thought the photos were kinda corny, but looking back at them at the end of the game and getting hit with a truck of flashbacks and all the things I did and experienced was a joy. This game will definitely go down as a game I will remember forever.

What I feel that people miss when they criticize FFXV is that it wasn’t a story of saving the world. It’s a story of the friendships and bonds formed with our loved ones. Bonds that last through the test of time and even death. You saving the world is just a little mashed potatoes on the side. The steak is the road trip.

Man, I played FFXV just by random choice scrolling through PSnow and it turned out to be one of my favorite games, ever. The game does a great job at making you love the main characters. I thought their friendship was kinda corny at first, but then I teared up when this song played again in the end credits. Bravo

i randomly got the game back in 2017 when my dad picked it up from the store. little did i know that day when my hands touched that controller to play, it was gonna be my favorite game to ever play. they all deserved such a happier ending. i wish there was a way to play out iggy's alternate ending in episode ignis instead of bits and pieces of those cut scenes. wither way, the alternate ending will always be the true ending in my eyes. the devs did phenomenal on this game. idk so many people hate it.
The problem is that there weren’t any other FF games that take place over decades where there are real changes to the main characters. Most people got hung up on Noctis being a feminine looking shit but that isn’t how he ends his story

this quote is so poignant because it literally sums up the whole series- their lives are wayward and Noctis isn't the perfect king, but that doesn't matter because the core of it all is their friendship and their adventure, and the fact that through all the shit that happens to them, they remain together and stand by one another. That, paired with this song, and the ending of the game, makes for an absolute masterpiece of an adventure

I’ve heard this song long before the game. Like... probably way to many years before it. And I didn’t truly catch what they were saying at the start of the game using this song, until it started playing at the end (especially with the subtitles on), god... it’s amazing. Now I’m gonna go replay Red Dead Redemption 2 for some more crying in the end. I always seem to pick the games that make me cry like a baby in the end. More than I ever have while watching a movie or tv show, that’s for sure.

This game introduced me to Final Fantasy. I remember when I first got it. I had about $266 bucks because of my birthday and I was in a mall, so I decided to hit the local Game Stop to browse some games. There wasn’t any games that caught my interest until I saw this game with the day one edition. I thought since so many people talked so much praise about the Final Fantasy series I said fuck it and bought the game. Let me tell you what happened next. I spent over 170 hours on the game completing everything and never getting bored once. The bonds I built with boys, the road trip, and the ending all acumoliatmed to this game becoming my favorite game of all time.

When you hear it the first time when they are pushing the car, it’s like, “oh that’s cute they’re friends” but it means so much more when it plays during the credits, and it means even more after playing through the Episode DLCs, because you get to watch them make the promise to protect Noctis no matter what, and to always stay by his side. The story of FFXV rivals even the best titles in the series, leaving players old and new astounded at the storytelling ability of this beautiful game, and the amazing people who made it.

He says that they told the story from Noctis's perspective. There were few parts in the game which they had to show what's going on behind the scene so the story makes sense but for the most part, The story is what Noctis is experiencing during his journey.
DLCs are all fans requested. They didn't release DLCs to complete the game. The game has already been completed without DLCs. Because Hajime Tabata respected fans so much and released these DLCs doesn't mean the main game is incomplete. I have 100% respect for Hajime Tabata's work and his decisions.

It means a bit more in the game at the end when Noct basically tells the others that he has to die in order to save the world and he needs them to get him to keep him safe long enough so he can finish his mission, but they can't save him.

The game is about accepting that things don't always go your way and you may not get what you want, but you have to make the best of things and remember the good along the way too. Noctis, although bitter about having to give up his life, that he and Luna were both destined to die and his father knew and had to die as well, he still remembers the good times with his friends and the people of Lucis.
The game is about the journey and the memories you make, living in the moment while you can because there will be a time when you have to accept responsibilities in your life and take action, whether it's as a bodyguard, a king or perhaps when you see someone on the side of the road.
Ardyn is someone who never got a chance to go down in history, he never got his glory and couldn't really live with anybody, since he was a Daemon and immortal. Nobody would be able to form attachments and as such he is vengeful towards Lucis and the Crystal. He seems to want to hurt people more than he want's to kill them. He takes pleasure in harming Noctis, and Noctis's story is about him fighting through the pain and doing what has to be done.
It's tragic because Noctis never feels he had enough time. One of the game's musical themes is "Too Much Is Never Enough", singing longfully about wanting more time with people you can't ever be with again, like Regis and Luna. But in the end, Noctis still had friends that stuck with him to the end, reinforcing the Final Fantasy themes of brotherhood enduring through the worst trails. - ArbyWorks
the story of ardyn is way more complex than what you see in the game
If you understand the story of Ardyn, you feel sorry for him too, even if he wasn't right. This game is such beautiful and bittersweet theatrical perfomance where you can empathize every major character, story about eternal values. True work of art, independently of subjective scores.
You can get a happy ending where Ignis isn't blind and Noctis is alive.

Every time I hear this song, I break down and cry like crazy. Final Fantasy XV gave me the feelings I had while playing final fantasy VII back in the days. Bonds and friendship between characters, sad and painful moments, that bitter taste in your mouth during frustrating cutscene and that insanely good ending. One of the best entry yet.
Final fantasy is always like that , unlike any other western RPG , that's why I still love Final Fantasy until these day.

If you are starting FFXV, I only ask this: do not rush the game. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the journey as much as you can. I took about three months and it hit really hard! I love this game and, before it's release, I was completely jaded about it. I was like "four guys in a car!? What crap is this?!". It is a true Final Fantasy experience, even though the story is not perfect! It's one of my favorite games of all time and my 4th favorite FF title (only behind FFXIV, VI and IX).
Took me over at least a hundred hours each playthroughs. Totally worth it and this song kills me all the time because of it. What can I say, these guys are the best.
Taking your time and really just enjoying it for what it really is, 4 best friends on an epic road trip, a Bro-ad trip if you will, just makes it hit harder. Cause you get that connection, feeling like you're the 5th man on the voyage

That moment when you were about to cry when this song was playing in the credits and then suddenly your saved picture of Ardyn shows up.

Zephrix Xdial it had ASPECTS of a great story, unfortunately they failed miserably when put into action.
the pacing was jorrendous, the characters were given no time to develop and they failed to flesh out the world

Basch152 I wish I could disagree, but your completely right. as of right now it seems like most of the world building and character development will be done in the dlc and patches sadly. I liked the game but I never got the Final Fantasy feeling I did with 7,8, and 9. It's not a bad game but with its framework a much better game could be made.
Basch152 I sadly have to agree as well... I was honestly getting some nostalgia with ff vi, and was expecting a major turning point upon meeting the emperor. There was to a degree, but it completely zip lined to the end, and I felt they missed a major opportunity to really give some purpose to him and their quest to take the crystal, counter to why the chancellor was after it. Luna's brother (hell, Luna as well) could've gotten much larger roles as their plan unfolded all throughout.
I was totally fine with the sandbox, open world, I knew they had all the assets and models for Insomnia, and only getting to go back at the end and only for that small segment of the city was another waste.
I did get incredibly attached to the characters nonetheless. There was more than enough banter between them to feel the bond they had with each other, but again, a lot of details and nuances felt rush and kept it far from perfect.

*Spoilers for the ending of FFXV*
I feel a certain kind of emotional while listening to this. At the beginning of the game you're like "this is nice, just an adventure with the boys"
Then at the end you're in floods of tears, because you never wanted the adventure to end. You wanted to keep hunting monsters, going from place to place, taking photos with the gang.
You know why Noctis had to die, but it still it just...sucks so much that Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio had to lose their brother. It's gonna take a long time for them to move on and learn to live without him.
I'm perfectly fine with how it ended but...MAN does it get you right in the feels
