FFXV was beautiful in the way it depicted not only friendship but that destiny can be cruel and there's sometimes never enough time to do everything or express everything. Noctis had a huge burden on his shoulders. I also loved that so much of the big events took place off-screen, and you saw the characters reactions to it. To me, that was realistic and what I enjoyed about it.
I just love FFXV, it's now my fav FF but I can't say that it's very constructive for naration having so much things off screen.. Many things in the game were not always written well. But My God, the friendship ! For me the best friendship of all the FF and the best villain. Ardyn is so good as a character.

Here's this kid (20 is still emotionally young) who his whole life has been told "You're the chosen one, you have a grand responsibility to the world and must save everyone to fulfill the prophecy" WITH ZERO SAY in the matter. Of course he would be rebellious and gripe all the time! Who wouldn't!? All he wants is to have a dad, see his fiance (wink, wink), and chill with his bros like any sane, normal person. But instead he loses his home, father, fiance, sleeps outside, has to fight an empire, and purge the darkness without knowing what that even means. It's a great, tragic twist on the classic coming of age story about growing up and accepting difficult responsibilities in life. It wouldn't have hit as hard as it did had Noctis NOT throw a bunch of tantrums about all the loss and hardship he endured. :')
IMO SE wasted a hell of a lot of potential in these characters and plot. I've been playing FF games since I was a wee one with the American release of FF2 [actually 4] and played every single one after. I played FFXI for years [literally, in accumulated game time, sadly?] and FFXIV as well for a long time. I'm old enough to appreciate the olds, but also enough to see the drastic change. FFXV _tried_ to depict a deeper plot, but in comparison it just... didn't add up to what it _could've_ been in to the older installments. Ultimately I found the characters to not even be _remotely_ flushed out as to what could have been. That being said; I cannot knock SE for splurging on Flo as at the very least the soundtrack was phenominal.
Agreed, those who hate FFXV is just a kid or grown up with a kid's mindset that can't understand how the world work, sometimes bad things happened, and sometimes good things happened
I have way too many feelings about this song. It makes you understand that no, Noctis is not a spoiled brat, he just can't do anything about his destiny. He knows what awaits him that's why the time he spent travelling with this friends was precious to him but also knew that it was only a mere delay of his duties. He fucking technically lived 20 years and like what 2 days. The outro was just so beautiful and majestic. Thank you Florence and the Machine for performing a perfect music that conveys all of that !!
I think we love the game for completely different reasons. I think Noctis is a spoilt brat, at the start he is completely oblivious to the fate what awaits him and why his Dad is acting unusual. The story takes such a U turn at the start you are tricked into thinking you are going in a rich fancy car to a wedding with a beautiful bride with a bunch of body guards but things continue to get out of hand and only by the end of the game does Noctis understand what awaits him, such character growth / sense of journey is rare in games. It mirrors real life in a sense how we do things we might be really reluctant to do such as Education but by the end you realise how much the people around you matter, that feeling/sense of loss when the journey is finally ending is something that FFXV captures amazingly on an epic scale.

Despite the multitude of different songs from this wonderful group and artist, this has to be my favorite. Not because of the game, but because there is something so terribly beautiful and sad about this song and that feeling of struggle portrayed by the lyrics. This song resonates with me in a way that I can’t put into words; like I needed to hear it and understand it. It is simply amazing and I still keep it in my active playlist wherever I go.
After beating FF XV, the lyrics are more meaningful than ever! Especially the bridge: "And who cares about the thing I did that night? So what? Maybe Luna had it right. And who cares if I'm coming back alive? So what? At least I have the strength to fight!" Awesome!
Greensky02 I agree I sat there in front of my TV staring screaming that they told me , at least in my mind what's to come. rumor is that there are 7 expansions 3 of them you get to play the Bros and they are all trying to bring noctis back. I would be happy with that after 100 hours of game play I have grown emotionally attached to my character he can't just be dead, gone for good you know. The line of 'who cares if I'm coming back alive' makes complete sense with this idea. I don't know about the other 3 maybe you get to play ardyn, luna and Regis or cor that would be cool. I secretly hope not cor though I hate him.
Who are we kidding, they're all good! I know every single song of hers by heart. And all the harmonies. It's bad. XD A few of my personal favorites are Falling, Seven Devils, and Hiding. But I love so many, that it's SO HARD TO CHOOSE. Those are just the first three I thought of. You guys listed some of my very favorites.

I'm crying. Not only because it's from one of my favorite bands, but also one of my favorite franchise games. And this song is amazing, it filled me with hope and energy to face a hard day. Never in my life had i ever heard a more incredible and final end credits song, it just sings Finality you need to end a game with to make you feel like its truly over.
+James Stine Just sounds like what's being talked about. Especially considering the previous line and that Noctis and Stella were going to fight. I think Noctis will end up having to kill Luna and this line is about him trying to justify it to himself.
It's astonishing that they had a song this amazing in the wings and it doesn't play at all during the endgame. You have to discover it by accident in the credits option in the menu. What a wasted opportunity! Simultaneously uplifting and devastating. This is up there with the use of "My Hands" in FFXIII, or the ending theme of FFX, in terms of just utterly destroying the listener with an emotional response. This right here is why FF games are in a class apart from other video RPG's / adventure games. Masterful!
I'm 99% sure that Florence is a real life White Mage that joined up with a band of Bards because she got tired of conventional healing. When your singing is literally summoning a thunderstorm pitter pattering and moving things around to the beat of your music in near perfect harmony, there's gotta be some mad magic involved

I LOVE IT! It sounds straight out of Ceremonials. It has that epic, operatic quality that I think Florence is at her best doing. Don't get me wrong her recent album was beautiful, but this is perfection!!!

I was disapointed this didn't play at the end of FFXV, I thought the lyrics all pointed to that being the case. I loved Stand By Me, but I thought this would have been perfect for the ending for sure.

I've had FFXV since the day it was released and this is the first time I've heard this song. I feel bad that I've missed out for so long, yet also happy that FFXV is still giving me surprises every time I come back to it. Lucky me.. i buyed the game, and i finished the game 1 year ago. What a masterpiece.. and its my fav FF Games now. The story... the world.. friendship.. everythings was beautiful, the main villain Ardyn is a good character.. play the dlc if you want ardyn backstory i recommended to buy the dlc.

FFXV was not a letdown to the vast majority of people. Perfect? No. An incredible game and a great Final Fantasy entry? Yes. Still my favorite, just beating out XII.
I beat the game awhile ago, actually I've done it twice. Now I've been waiting for more dlc and grinding for more xp through the timed quest. Then I come back to this song and I'm reminded of how heavy and impactful this game is, I remember what happened at the end of the game. I'd be lying if I said this song didn't punch me with a fist full of feels.

It's not even funny how happy I was when I heard that Flo had agreed to do some music for FFXV. One of my favorite artist combined with my favorite game franchise. I love how she even makes a reference to Luna, as if the song is from Noctis' perspective.

FFXV couldn't have been put together more beautifully that it was, and the emphasis on the appreciation of having such a great bond with your closest friends is really what got me. Such a masterpiece, it was, and these songs by Florence and the Machine make it even harder for me to take. Loved it so much :)

Despite the multitude of different songs from this wonderful group and artist, this has to be my favorite. Not because of the game, but because there is something so terribly beautiful and sad about this song and that feeling of struggle portrayed by the lyrics. This song resonates with me in a way that I can’t put into words; like I needed to hear it and understand it. It is simply amazing and I still keep it in my active playlist wherever I go.
The soundtrack for FFXV never fails to make me cry. Florence is absolutely divine, they were right in choosing her to sing these songs.

Greensky02 I agree I sat there in front of my TV staring screaming that they told me , at least in my mind what's to come. rumor is that there are 7 expansions 3 of them you get to play the Bros and they are all trying to bring noctis back. I would be happy with that after 100 hours of game play I have grown emotionally attached to my character he can't just be dead, gone for good you know. The line of 'who cares if I'm coming back alive' makes complete sense with this idea. I don't know about the other 3 maybe you get to play ardyn, luna and Regis or cor that would be cool. I secretly hope not cor though I hate him.

It's astonishing that they had a song this amazing in the wings and it doesn't play at all during the endgame. You have to discover it by accident in the credits option in the menu. What a wasted opportunity!
Simultaneously uplifting and devastating. This is up there with the use of "My Hands" in FFXIII, or the ending theme of FFX, in terms of just utterly destroying the listener with an emotional response. This right here is why FF games are in a class apart from other video RPG's / adventure games. Masterful!

I LOVE IT! It sounds straight out of Ceremonials. It has that epic, operatic quality that I think Florence is at her best doing. Don't get me wrong her recent album was beautiful, but this is perfection!!!

FFXV was not a letdown to the vast majority of people. Perfect? No. An incredible game and a great Final Fantasy entry? Yes. Still my favorite, just beating out XII.

I beat the game awhile ago, actually I've done it twice. Now I've been waiting for more dlc and grinding for more xp through the timed quest. Then I come back to this song and I'm reminded of how heavy and impactful this game is, I remember what happened at the end of the game.
