When my wife and I got married 40+ years ago, it was very small and simple because we paid for it ourselves and didn't have a lot of money. No drama. Years later, when our grown children got married, we gave each couple a set amount to spend toward the wedding or honeymoon or whatever and still no drama but 3 new in-laws that are GREAT. As far as I know, all of their weddings were kept to a budget and none of couples acted as stupid/entitled as this 'woman'.
OMG, I don't know who to blame more for these temper tantrums by the bride. The mother should have stopped this behavior when her daughter was two years old. Or the bride who is a nurse and should be more thoughtful. Or the groom, who is also enabling. Oy vey.
The fact that she said “I don’t even remember most of the wedding” speaks volumes. All that unnecessary spending and things she didn’t need just to not even remember it and be so stressed. Was it worth it? No..... also when did this become the brides Wedding ONLY? I thought it was two people getting married?
I have been married one time. My mother (widow) paid for dress, hairdo and boquet. We paid (my husband and I) for the dinner for us and our 2 witnesses. No guests. My Grandmother sent an unexpected boquet for our table at the hotel where we ate and it was greatly appreciated. We paid for the photostudio and the shoot and the photos. I went to a big wedding at a rented place with full dinner and a lot of extras. The bride's father was a lawyer. Mine was dead. We both got divorced later. Stupid stuff based on stupid decisions. Not worth the excess use at all.

Knowing it was our last baby, we wanted to ‘do it right’ and be married before he came and everyone had been bugging us for 6 years to finally get married, we were obviously made for each other, complete teenage sweethearts and soul mates. The ONLY thing I wouldn’t budge on was the men in the wedding party had to wear the traditional Filipino formal shirt (custom made with gold threading and gold colored buttons I picked, the men had to be measured and the shirts were made in the Philippines and sent here to Seattle), but everything else....flowers, cake, decor, music, food...I compromised with my husband and made sure he was JUST as apart of the decisions. We didn’t fight about anything, he didn’t have to check me, I didn’t throw a fit and I was HUGE prego and hormonal with a 6, 4 and 2 year old. I'm trying to figure out, if the Bride, Jaime got anything she wanted and the groom refused to choose anything but a car. The Bride's dress was under budget so she isn't as bad as everyone says. The Mom made all the decisions by the end of the day, and she spent money on what she wanted. How much of the guest list was for the two Moms' friends and not the bride and groom's friends????? I think the Bride was correct, her Mom was planning her own wedding. The Mom spent a lot on her own dress and her cheese and talked to the other Mom behind the Bride's back.
She is this way 😬🙄 in part because she was raised that way- and she probably has spent too much time watching Downton Abbey….I would’ve never had been allowed to behave that way.
With Covid and our daughter being 2000 miles away, planning a wedding was hard. We gave our daughter a check, a substantial one at that, and she and her fiancé have made decisions based on what they can afford. We are proud of this couple, they made hard decisions and got creative. We offered more assistance if they need it, and they said no. If they go over budget they want to pay for that themselves. They are such a beautiful couple and we are so proud of them.

Three comments: (1) The cheese wheel was my favorite part and I love the idea of a wedge of cheese and grater as wedding favors; (2) Groom's suit looked too big and baggy and for $1K, not a good value; and (3) $4,500 for the wedding planner was nowhere near enough money for dealing with that crowd
I think she just wanted to spend for the sake of spending. It seemed like expensive was her only criteria and that feels quite disrespectful to her parents.
I think it’s crazy to spend that money on one day…when divorce rates are so high! I would rather spend it on something more lasting- house, furniture or car
I got married 6 months ago in city hall had a small get together in a restaurant with 30 people and the money we saved it’s for a house. And we couldn’t be any happier!!!
Most costs go to food and drink these days though, which is unavoidable if you want to be a good host- although five course menus with caviar and french champagne are unnecessary. But most of the extras with the exception of maybe a good photographer for the memories and music source, are a waste and cone be done without or more cheaply. The money would be better spent on a honeymoon. Even with a big wedding I would not come close to what they spent on this.
If my in-laws had paid for our wedding all I would have done was say "yes I like that" or "no I don't " especially when someone else is paying. I can't stand spoiled adults. 🙄

If we found that we wanted to spend more in one area we had to deduct cost from another area, that meant the money had to come out of something else so that the budget didn't change.

I have a strong feeling this is a Canadian production :( all the STUPID sound effects. It really does'nt do us ANY justice! No wonder there are so many talented Canadians in the states. This kind of production value does nothing for their talents.
Classless, your center pieces should not be so big that your guests need to talk around them.
No respect for her mother.
I am speechless! I come from an Italian family. I would never have asked my parents to pay for the type of things this bride feels she is entitled to. Weddings are not supposed to cause hardship for anyone. Did this mother actually raise this girl to be so entitled? Her husband is in for a very pressured life. I’m glad she isn’t marrying into my family.
So did I. I was 19. I had a nice dress, married in a Catholic church mass, venue was at a Italian restaurant and piped in music. This was in the 70s.
I can't see them staying married because she feels so entitled. She's a spoiled brat. I raised strong independent women who are rational and financially independent.
@@fcllc4217 You know I said the same thing, I can't see Frank wanting to put up with this "entitled" person's silliness for the rest of his life
The mom sounds like she is used to getting what she wants and the daughter has the same attitude. Neither of them understand negotiating or compromise.
@@tastx3142 you have that right and the groom must be very stupid if he can't see by the way Mom and daughter behave now what he is going to have to put up with being in this family! My condolences to him and his parents.

If my daughter behaved like that she would be paying herself. What an attitude

She is an ungrateful person
Totally agree with this comment
I have been married one time. My mother (widow) paid for dress, hairdo and boquet. We paid (my husband and I) for the dinner for us and our 2 witnesses. No guests. My Grandmother sent an unexpected boquet for our table at the hotel where we ate and it was greatly appreciated. We paid for the photostudio and the shoot and the photos. I went to a big wedding at a rented place with full dinner and a lot of extras. The bride's father was a lawyer. Mine was dead. We both got divorced later. Stupid stuff based on stupid decisions. Not worth the excess use at all.
50% of all married in the United States end with divorce, it's pathetic.

@@yvettewilliams4893 I was 7 months pregnant when I got married, on my 4th baby. My husband and I had been together since we were 14 and had our babies at 14, 16, 18 and 20. Do they purposely get the rudest, most self-absorbed Brides on these shows? And seriously, doesn't the groom see what he is in for -a lifetime worth?
They absolutely do!

Yeah, like she was marrying herself. The poor groom didn't get a look in!!
…. I can’t Believe the way she speaks to her mother(No prize herself)…And Frank needs to grow a Pair or “Run like Pizza is on Sale!”😂😂😂😤🇨🇦
Perfect
Unlike this bride...you obviously raised your daughter right...and that's lovely of you to offer the cheque...most parents don't do that these days.
Point
Your daughter is both SANE and not selfish. Jamie is not either one.
That's what we did, too, for three of our children. Two others, #1 and #4, have yet to marry.

Not a single penny we took from our parents for our wedding am so proud of it.
I think she just wanted to spend for the sake of spending. It seemed like expensive was her only criteria and that feels quite disrespectful to her parents.
I think it’s crazy to spend that money on one day…when divorce rates are so high! I would rather spend it on something more lasting- house, furniture or car

That's what we did. Kept wedding to minimum and saved for honeymoon, apartment, furniture, etc. No regrets.

My parents paid for my wedding 30 yrs ago. My mom sat down and we came up with a budget. Line by line, we set a budget for each area;
* Photographer
* Venue
* Catering
* Flowers
Every single thing we could think of. If we found that we wanted to spend more in one area we had to deduct cost from another area, that meant the money had to come out of something else so that the budget didn't change.
