Thats what I had to do. But I had to do it in secret because she was sure that she was the ultimate negotiator. I would take every vendor aside and tell them to quote her half so I would know the real price...
Right, I would appreciate anyone who is willing to help no matter the price they contribute. I also wouldn’t expect someone to spend their money on me. Not to mention, she may not have it since she is most likely not working, but it’s no ones obligation to pay for their dress or wedding. I know how hard it is to become financially stable.
Sofia Dunn Honestly it’s a choice to get a big wedding. I gonna pay all my crap if someone wants to offer with help great but I don’t ever rely on others. Paying for my college rn it’s hard but my mama did the same. She had a small wedding paid out of pocket and got a secondhand dress. Dont even think about that dress anymore lol. Thay girl needs to respect her grandma and she probably doesnt work anyore. She can work and get that cash.
Mrssewhardtoplease yay 😀 I would pay half the money if I could but if it’s super expensive than I’ll borrow money and then return it I don’t have anything over a thousand dollars the most expensive is my iPhone 6s and that less than eight hundred I bought it after three years it came out
42 jade I know but like I’m saying like if I don’t have enough money that’s what going to happen besides some people don’t even pay a single penny some parents just pay for it all
@42 jade I agree, I thought so.. I saved enough money to have a wedding, house etc. Im over 30 and now there is a different problem - why. In my 20s I was sure,.. now its just like the same as I would burn that money and I worked hard to get them so who needs a wedding :D
@@jessicaaye3738 Doesn't matter what the old lady thought. It was her money, her choice. The bride should learn how to save money if she wanted an expensive one or learn to stay on budget if she didn't want to use her own money. Is she jobless?
I find it appaling that everyone thinks Granny was being tight fisted. Shes 93! I'm guessing she has a very limited income and it's wrong for them to feel entitled for her to pay whatever price they want for the dress. Ungrateful imo.
And she is the GREAT grandma, not even grandma. Plus, even if she has the money, she is not obligated to pay for what the GREAT granddaughter wants. Will this GREAT granddaughter pay for her medical bills and funeral? Or will this bride pay for her daughter's wedding dress or her granddaughter's wedding dress or if she lives a lot longer, her great granddaughter's dress. If she does not have money now, most probably she doesn't know how to save and be within her budget so I doubt she can afford her own daughter's wedding dress in the future. Present actions tend to predict future actions.
I am pretty sure the entire segment was a set-up for dramatic purposes, since they certainly don't sound like they live in NYC. And if Mamie could not afford to pay for it, or refused to spend more than $500, the Bride would not have ended up with that dress in the end. Everyone is assuming that Mamie CAN not pay for it, not that she WILL not pay for it, and everyone is picking on the Bride and calling her entitled, and making it all the Bride's fault. The salespeople are also involved and they know who is writing the check. For all we know, Mamie owns half her town, and is rolling in the dough. As I always tell my kids--2 rules to live by--you never know what goes on behind closed doors. And don't count other people's money! Even when it makes for good tv!
@@skontheroad That is why I said, even if the great grannie, she is not obligated to pay for her great granddaughter's wedding dress. People always have this idea that we can spend other people's money especially if those other people are rolling in dough. My mom has a lot of money and properties but I don't ask her to pay for things I want for myself. She also taught us, her children, at an early age to save money and to save for things we would like to have. Of course, a gift is another thing.
She is married to a Matthew Strickland something ... Dang! I stalked her because she made her grandma paid for her wedding dress and it just dont sits right with me .. ( sorry for my bad English )
The grandmother should have given her $500 and she can pay the rest. Problem solved. That discount dress would have looked better to the bride if she was paying.
I love how the uplifting music is trying to pass this off as a beautiful moment when really we just watched a pensioner get shamed and beaten down to pay 5 times the amount of her budget because her great granddaughter is an entitled child in a grown woman's body
Yeah, I can’t imagine doing that to anyone. My parents helped me pay off my student loan and I felt terrible about it. I didn’t ask. They went and just did it. I’m paying them $400 a month until I pay off what they contributed. Every single month they insist that I keep my money and every single month I give it to them. At least I’m not dealing with variable interest! I’m very grateful. I’d never dream of doing what this brat did to her grandma. For a dress! My goodness.
22, getting married, doesn't pay for the dress , thinks that she can make her Great grandmother spend 2K by shedding a tear and at the end she wants a 2.6K dollar dress. Girl, no

When my daughter went to look for wedding gowns, David's Bridal had stunning gowns from $500 - $800. She ended up buying a gown in Ohio, but it was still only $800 and she paid for it.
Not even her grandmother; she's the bride's great grandmother. Maybe she's on a fixed income. Even if Great grandmother could afford it not her responsibility.
Part of me feels like the bride didn’t like the second dress only because it wasn’t expensive and because her grandmother picked it. It was a gorgeous dress.

My mom isn’t paying for my college and I understand that. Your wedding then your money. Unless someone wants to pay but grandma is being forced to go up. Also, their are other places for smaller budget. I seen the show do a budget for 1,000 and she is an adult. I work minimum wage which is like $15 but I live in California Bay Area. Also they are going up but that’s normal on this show. I live with my grandma I would never do this to her I have too much respect and I don’t lean on others for anything. Different between willing and forcing.
As a bridal consultant, this situation absolutely makes me sick. Something I always try to respect and pay attention to is budget no matter what. Whether it’s 700$, or 3,000. I have been able to find a beautiful dress my bride was in love with at 300$. It’s not difficult, but all these consultants are looking for is a money grab. 2,600 is insane for that dress, not to mention there’s also tax, depending upon which state your in for retail tax, plus the veil and everything else, would probably come close to 3,000 dollars.
my mother paid for her dress off the rack, it needed minimal adjustments and she got a standard cheap viel and she was more than happy with that. And only paid for about a hair over 400 for all that and she was super happy with it.
Definitely! We paid for everything ourselves because I know my family aren’t rich and I didn’t want them stressing about it. Also selfishly wanted what I liked not what I felt they wanted or could afford. My dress was only £175 but I loved it. 15 years later, I still love it!
what does Lori mean “money won’t matter when she sees her jacked up” she can’t afford it, she’s 93 and probably retired. instead of making the grandmother look like a villain why not the bride pay for her own dress. she’s 22. this episode was actually embarrassing to watch-

This episode was appalling!! Hadn't Grandma done enough for this child by raising her? The way the sales people AND the bride treated this woman was outrageous! This bride may have been pretty on the outside, but she was NOT pretty on the inside, which is where it counts the most. I feel sorry for the husband to be with this one. Shame, Shame, Shame. To even think of putting Grandma in that position.
How incredibly disrespectful everyone was towards the great grandmother. She had her budget for a reason, and if that wasn't high enough for the bride, the entitled brat should have put up the difference. If she can't do that, she's not mature enough to be getting married. Shame on Lori and Monte for manipulating a 93 year old woman into going over 5 times her budget and not even trying to work with the budget. Gok would never.
The grandma sounds very cheap though! You can often tell the difference between someone who can’t put the money and someone who is cheap! Yet the bride should pay the difference
Why does her great grandmother have to pay for anything, if she's willing to contribute with 500, then that's very generous, but the bride has to figure out how to pay the rest. I really don't like this bride, or the employees and their comments about the elderly lady.
This is emotional blackmail and it was disturbing to watch this. It's this 93 yr old women's savings, her hard earned money! Her grandmother would have happily paid what she could afford. The girl should have paid the rest with her own earning. Her married life's gonna face a lot of trouble if she continues being this manipulative! Also, throughout the episode the consultants went on mocking the old lady. I mean, Wtf. They didn't even try to find a mid ground.
I mean, the bride had a valid point too. The granny probably has not accounted for inflation and the hiked up prices over the years. I mean $2,000 now was around $200 back when the granny was the bride's age. I don't think it's emotion blackmail, rather it's a misunderstanding due to a generation gap.
Ritika Devarakonda excuse me? The bride chose to put a dress on that was 5.2 TIMES her granny’s budget (before alterations and tax) and then a room full of people strong-armed her into spending money she probably doesn’t have at her age. In what world does the bride have a point?? She could have easily put her granny’s $500 towards her dream dress, and forked up the rest herself. If she also didn’t have the money she has no leg to stand on. Pure selfishness from the granddaughter towards the woman who raised her.
@@andromedarayne you say that as if it’s the grandmas choice. The bride chose the store, she’s a grown woman she can pay for her own. Our suits, venue and catering are all coming from ourselves and if anyone in our families offers to pay for anything we are staying within that budget or covering the rest.
Even if the Grandma was loaded it doesn’t mean you expect more than she’s willing to pay. If she isn’t well off it’s even more upsetting to have your generosity and love not appreciated. I would be so upset if that happened to me, just looked upon as a cash machine. I really hope this was a set up for tv, because if not it’s disgusting.
My sister just got married she tried on dozens of dresses from $200-$2000 and she found her perfect dress everything she wanted for $400. This woman is a full grown woman. I can't believe this episode made it to air with no one stopping to say "Hey, maybe we shouldn't show this grandmother getting guilted into spending more than she wants..." Poor Granny, I hope that part was just drama for TV
"Penny Pinching Grandma" She doesn't have much money and the way these people made her feel is terrible. What a spoilt brat her great granddaughter is.
Exactly!! Incredibly spoiled. At 93, it’s very rare that she’d work, since at that age she’s definitely earned retirement, and she would need that to actually live on and probably had to dip into her savings. So manipulative and rude of them.
"She doesn't have much money..." We do not know that. Just because she doesn't want to spend more than $500 doesn't mean she doesn't have more. She made it clear that she doesn't think any wedding dress is worth more than $500, and that's why she didn't want to pay more.
I'm with Grandma in this one. It's ridiculous to spend thousands of dollars on a dress you wear once. A bride should feel beautiful on her special day but that money could be put to a better use for the future of the couple
When I got married we borrowed clothes to wear and were married in front of a JP. We went out for dinner with close family and a few friends afterwards. We just didn’t see the need to spend much money on wedding as it was not necessary for us in order to get married. I know some people thought it was strange to not have a traditional wedding. It’ll be 17 years of marriage this September. We have been fortunate to do well financially over the years and my opinion still hasn’t changed. I’ve seen so many people spend a lot of money on their weddings and struggle during their first several years of marriage. That wears on a relationship. Wouldn’t it be better spent on a down payment for a house? One day vs your quality of life everyday. Maybe it’s just me, but if your main goal is to marry the person you love and want to spend your life with, you should be happy to have a ceremony and a marriage certificate.
Lori and Monte saw how the grandma wasn't willing to pay even 2k dollars for a dress and yet they put her in something even more expensive than the one that brat of a bride chose. Lori disappointed me this time. Randy and Gok would've chosen something that would make the grandma comfortable with the price.
I wish that Gok did this one - he is always so respectful of the budget and if the bride or family can't afford it he will make sure they lower the price. That's the only thing that I hate about this show - they disrespect the budget and give the brides super expensive dresses over the budget, the bride falls in love but then it's like 2000 over the budget and they most likely can't afford it.
I was disappointed. They did not respect her granny's budget. That is a lack of respect. In say yes to the dress Ireland. The bride has 500 as a budget and they found DIFFERENT pretty dresses for her.
Not even gonna lie. The dress her grandma picked wasn’t even that bad , these girls only want the most expensive shit. They only make sure the price is big and don’t even really look at the dress. It’s all about the money.
I actually loved the dress Grandma chose for her. It was classic yet unique, and she looked great in it. I agree, she didn't like it because it cost less. Some of these brides view the dress as a status symbol and you can bet they tell others how much the dress costs. TACKY.
"I guess I have to (buy the dress)" "don't worry granny you'll sleep better without all that money under your mattress" "she looks so beautiful... I just wish it didn't cost so much" I feel so bad for this lady, no one is respecting her wishes at all, completely manipulating her. Everyone was just so horrible I can't stand it.
I agree. Im in a relationship with my boyfriend for 6 years and we think that we need another 2-3 years to save up for our future and for our dream wedding. We don't want to be in a hurry because we don't want our parents to be responsible for anything because we know that our parents doesn't have that much. Plus the fact that, our parents are all responsible for raising us since day1 for sure those years are enough for both of us to be responsible on our own ❤️ Anwy, im 23 he's 28. 🇵🇭
Honestly! I’m getting married November 2021 and my fiancé and I (both will be 22 by then) are paying for everything. We are both going half on everything we are planning, my grandmother raised me and I couldn’t even imagine asking her to pay for my wedding let alone my dress.
A friend who was a real estate agent for a while told me they were told to not ever show a client a house over their budget, because they will want the more expensive house. This is not a show about respect, it probably comes down to money and the fashion industry. Yeah, granny is way behind the times, but that's a lot of money for her.
I paid $100 for my dress because my parents couldn't afford it... I still love it and it was a perfect day.... I spent about $1000 on the wedding and cooked most of the food by myself. My parents were so excited to be able to buy my wedding cake. I'm so glad I didn't treat them like this. That poor grandma...

I hope your wedding went well. Or did I get it wrong that you already had it?
I think the producers tried to cover up the manipulation that the bride and the associates put the grandmother through by cutting out the parts where the great-grandmother was talking about anything besides money, to make it seem like she cared about nothing but money. It's quite sad to watch everyone not respect her wishes when she is the one who has earned that money and there are plenty of salons where a dress could have been bought under $1K
They basically pushed and guilted grandma in to spending her hard earned money, dissapointed in both Monte and Lori, why promote this grandma as a purse clutching frugal woman. Lancashire would never go this far.
But when the appointment is booked they are going to ask about the budget. It’s all hammed up for the cameras. But aside from that the bride seems awfully young and unrealistic about reality.
i mean she's definitely penny-pinching but it's ridiculous to try to push her that far outside her budget. especially when lori said "our dresses start at $2000" and then lo & behold mammy found one for $1250. you can be sure they have more dresses on sale and almost certainly some below the $1000 mark, especially since the bride's not hung up on a ton of bling or lace. there's really no reason that dress she picked should have been a nickel over $900. hell my dress was more complicated than that one and it was $900 at the boutique (but i found it online for $125).
It was very rude to put down a 93 years old women like that, as if the consultant, Monte and Lori all of them were desperate to sell their product and didn't even care about the one who's paying. Hate this episode for being so money-hungry and ignorant!

The great grandmother at 93 grew up during the Great Depression and WWII like my parents did. That kind of experience marks a person deeply, forming a lifetime of values. She has every right to be concerned about price. I'm only 72 and today's prices for anything are beginning to bewilder me.
I completely agree it was wrong for the Grandma to be forced to pay but like yeah of course everything is expensive inflation and the wages not accounting for it make everything expensive

Don’t forget to mention that alterations are usually hundreds of dollars, add in a veil/accessories and you’re paying an extra grand on top of the dress. I think the bride should’ve used her granny’s $500 budget as a contribution to her gown and paid the rest! What an entitled bride.
This was the first time I disliked them! Honestly, there are so many affordable options... they don’t look super loaded and 2K is a lot for a dress you wear once
I sort of agree, but at the same time, the consultants job is to please the bride, plus we never see every single dress they look at so maybe they tried, we just didn't see it.
This honestly breaks my heart. I lost all my grandparents when I was just a child. I would give anything to have my grandma here to take to lunch and get her nails done with me... I could never see myself being so entitled to act this way to her... she knew what she was doing, knowing she’d give in to make her happy. This is sickening 🥺
I LOVED the grandmothers pick it looks amazing on her. I HATE the fact that they are bullying this poor grandma into changing her budget over a dress that this spoiled girl will wear once in her life. This episode really boils my blood.
My problem is that she didn't pick it because she liked it. She only picked it because it was the cheapest dress she could find in the store. I don't like it when people make their opinions based only on the price and literally nothing else. I don't care what you say. That dress was ugly.
Yes, wasn't her budget around 2 at first? Did she reallyy neeed to choose 2,6 dress? And she also said that she doesn't really thinking about the budget.. gurll ya not da one payin🙄
This makes me so mad. The bride is incredibly selfish, spoiled, and entitled. And the consultants are greedy and disrespectful. I'm her age and I would never put that burden on my family..
I couldn't imagine treating my grandma like this- I would say thank you and pay for the rest. Pretty gross. You KNEW before going in what her budget was.
Everything about this episode is disappointing. First of all, Lori and Monte completely disrespected the great-grandmother. Yes, their dresses start at a price, but NOT at $2600-- I've seen lovely dresses in their salon for much cheaper. They were acting as if $500 was mere pocket change. Secondly, how dare the granddaughter treat her great-grandmother like an ATM. She should have either offered to pay the difference herself or gone to a different shop. IDK, both my grandmothers are gone and, therefore, will not be at my wedding, and the fact that this bride manipulated hers . . . Ugh. She doesn't know how good she has it.
Yep, agree with everything you said. I have none of my grandparents but i wouldn't treat my parents like this. I'm appalled to be truthful. Poor, sweet lady. In the UK, in London bridal shops, beautiful, high quality wedding dresses cost around the £600 mark (about $650) and that's what I plan on paying for my dress. To get a very old woman to pay £2,600 is crazy. For reference, the shop I'm referencing where the dresses cost £400-£600 is called Wed2B, and their dresses are stunning.
Agreed! Grandma had a point. Paying a small fortune for a dress you will only wear once, maybe twice if you're buried in it, is just crazy. $2,000 is a down payment on an apartment or a car.
I literally found the dress of my dreams in a thrift store for $50. I don’t think there is anything wrong with new but, it’s not worth blowing your whole bank account
$500 for a 93 year old on a fixed income for almost 30 years is quite generous. How much social security do they think a 93 year old person get? Shame on her great granddaughter.
The way " bride to be " speaks, like spoiled brat makes me feel sorry for her granny. My wedding dress cost less than € 200 and still was beautiful to me.
Grandmother: I am willing to pay 400 to 500 dollars for a dress Normal reaction: omg that is so generous thank you! And if I see something i really like out of budget I can pay the rest myself Because of course I waited to get married until I saved enough money for it 🤷♀️
i don't want to even spend 500 on a dress, but I'm probably never going to get married. I would have to go to a consignment shop or to the big chain store, but it is possible to spend 500 on a dress.
I think it's a traditional thing where ur family members especially your parenta have to pay everything for your wedding. But yah If I wanted to get married I would just pay my own dress since I'll be the one wearing it 😂
I spent $75 at a thrift store, and $150 for sewing/tailoring classes, and did all the tailoring myself. I then modified my dress for the wedding, 4 more times and dyed it twice more for other events. That’s $225 for a dress that got worn at least 7 times AND a skill I still use over 15 years later.
If mammie lived through the depression, there's no way she'll pay $2000 for a dress. The bride needs to understand how long it takes to save 2 grand to appreciate it. It isn't fair to Mammie to stretch her budget that much. There's still the rest of the wedding to pay for and weddings are so expensive.
If I overheard the shop employees making catty remarks like that about any of my family members, I would drop the merch and be out of there so fast it would make their heads spin. Show some respect for your clients, you self-important jerks.
It's so sad that this 93 year old woman is getting bullied into paying for a wedding dress that's $2,600.00! I've seen this more with the show in the Southern parts of the U.S. that the family contributes or pays for the whole dress. If this 23 year old woman can't pay for her own dress...how is she and her husband supposed to pay for anything? Does she not have a job? I mean wth? The only thing my family contributed to was my reception and catering and that was only $300.00. I spent around $800 on my wedding dress, shoes, head piece AND alterations for my dress. I did that on my own. My grandma who is now 82, brought a few things that my husband I borrowed for the day and she bought bottles of sparkling cider. It was a wonderful surprise! I would never in a million years ask and or manipulate any of family into buying me something like that. Shame on this girl for manipulating her Great grandma into buying her a dress. Shame!
Not only do the families pay for the dress, they pay for the entire wedding. I am middle aged and single, but always expected to pay for most of my wedding on my own. My parents would have given me some money (probably about like yours) but they paid for their wedding and I have a better job than they ever did. Not that I have "wedding savings"; I would have to be thrifty and have a small ceremony - cake, punch and cheese straws for the reception! I might even make my own cake or splurge and hire a friend from college who has a small business. I would search consignment shops or call around to small stores to find possible budget dresses. Most likely I would end up at the big retail bridal store I won't name, but most towns have! My only older relative is my aunt who would probably give me some jewelry (she has already given me some dishes and has promised me one of her rings - she got an "upgrade" diamond at some point). At this point, I would be so thrilled to find someone to marry - maybe his family would be so happy to marry off the old son they would pay!
My dress was a McClintock that was $400 in store and had pulled seams and needed at least $300 in alterations. I found it for $110 with shipping online for the same exact dress and it needed no alterations. I wore it once and I won't wear it again. For 2600, I'd rather have the money towards a down payment on a house
Sorry SYTTD, I know this was supposed to be funny with the jokes about mammy pulling the money out of her mattress etc, but I just found it awful. That 22 year old has a lot of growing up to do. Good luck getting married and being an adult! I got married 9 years ago, went to a bridal shop I could afford, told them $500 was my budget and got a dress. Fairly similar to that one too 💁♀️ Poor mammy shouldn't have caved!
Me too. The nasty remarks about Granny & her money were totally uncalled for. Shame on them. I bet in her 93 years granny didn't spend $500 on a dress for herself.
@@patpeters6331 YES my Grandma (She’s late 70s) Only paid £10 on fabric and someone to make it but hey that’s back then but the dress was still Gorgeous!
is it? You are going to a high end store then asking for cheap dress. It's like going to a big jewelry shop then asking for plastic jewelery. It was fault of the family for not considering their budget.
@@patpeters6331 probably not. if the grandma got married at 20ish years old she would have gotten married like 70 years before this episode happened and probably have spent way less on her dress. She probably never went dress shopping for a wedding since then and did not keep up with todays prices. And we can also consider that grandma maybe only had 500 to offer, possibly if she was poor or just had to spent her money carefully for any reason.
What is with these brides who keep hoping others to pay for their dress?! Edit: yeah, I don't like this episode. I hate how they forced & guilt tripped the poor great grandma.
"You'll sleep better without that money up under that mattress" WTF? What kind of a heartless self entitled man is he? As if what he did wasn't appalling enough!!!!
Elderly often barely have enough money saved for themselves when it's needed or for emergencies yet they want her to pay more? Even if this is not the case for this lady. She may not know much about the dress prices these days but she knows how much SHE can spend of her own money. Girl should just settle for cheaper options since she is so young and can't afford it yet or just pay the rest with her own money if she wants smth expensive or even better save up and pay the full price herself..
Exactly! It's harder for the elderly to keep up with today's economy, mainly because they are no longer in the work force. While the bride did look nice in the dress, this episode just left a bad taste in my mouth. The granny was definitely 'shamed' into buying something.
BRAVO! If the bride wants to shop in that price range, she should be prepared to finance her dress herself. To expect her GRANDMOTHER AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER to spend exorbitant amounts of money is disrespectful and disgraceful. For goodness sake, take them shopping with you by all means if you want them to help you pic out a dress, and if they was to make a gift of a contribution toward the cost of the dress, ok. But, she should put on her big girl panties and be prepared to pay for the danged dress herself.
I don't understand these people, like why are you getting married if you can't even afford your own wedding dress. Why are other people paying for your dress or anything with your wedding. Getting married is and was a decision made by you and your partner. So at the end of the day its your responsibility. Same thing goes with having a goddamn kid as well. So is she going to make her granny pay for the baby's diapers and formula as well including any other miscellaneous. WTH!

So sad that brides now feel like it's ok to spend that much money on a dress. Especially when it's not their money to spend. In this case the team really should have pulled dresses in the thousand dollar range, not two thousand, and over. Plus, no one mentions the cost of all the other accessories you need. Wrong to do to poor Granny. 😕
Literally watched one earlier and the veil alone was $7000.. like how do u even justify that for some tulle and some ribbon ?! Yeah some of these brides are beyond bratty
just let the granny pay the 500 and then, the rest is her own money.
Thats what I had to do. But I had to do it in secret because she was sure that she was the ultimate negotiator. I would take every vendor aside and tell them to quote her half so I would know the real price...

I find it appaling that everyone thinks Granny was being tight fisted. Shes 93! I'm guessing she has a very limited income and it's wrong for them to feel entitled for her to pay whatever price they want for the dress. Ungrateful imo.
Yep, people who are like, "It's only $X.xx dollars" change their tune real quick when you suggest THEY cough up some money.
I totally love all the support that granny is getting. Right on!
@Mermaid V exactly
She totally Is not ready to get married
@@carolinemarchand4743 yea
But she had to understand that wedding dresses now costs a lot.
Why does her great grandmother have to pay for anything, if she's willing to contribute with 500, then that's very generous, but the bride has to figure out how to pay the rest. I really don't like this bride, or the employees and their comments about the elderly lady.
If you look at the video at 7:30 , Lori isn’t smiling. I don’t think she liked this either.
I have to disagree. It's certainly no virtue to be that stingy.
Stingy or poor?????@@trixi1608
@Clary Hustles I'd leave the shop if my grandchild tried that with me!
@@Sarah-tw4yv You expect a $500 dress from that store? Hunny, go to target.
@@andromedarayne you say that as if it’s the grandmas choice. The bride chose the store, she’s a grown woman she can pay for her own. Hell I’m 19 and engaged and even I know my fiancé and I are paying for everything with our own money.
Right? This was just disrespectful. She should be embarrassed treating her granny like that on national tv. Lori and Monty should be ashamed for calling her granny cheap the whole time.
I found my dress at a second hand shop for $40 and with a few alterations it was perfect

If a woman can't get herself a dress, one way or another, then she's not ready to get married.
This is a really classist thing to say. Someone not being able to afford a dress doesn’t mean they’re not capable of a relationship.
@@Hannah-zw9ow but if someone can't afford a dress that expensive they shouldn't be going to a shop like this. Its nothing about class , it's just disrespectful that she's treating her grandma like an atm , if she wants an expensive dress she should just pay for it.

"Penny Pinching Grandma"
She doesn't have much money and the way these people made her feel is terrible.
What a spoilt brat her great granddaughter is.
Exactly!! Incredibly spoiled. At 93, it’s very rare that she’d work, since at that age she’s definitely earned retirement, and she would need that to actually live on and probably had to dip into her savings. So manipulative and rude of them.
The bride is absolutely horrible for making her gran feel like that, especially for something so miniscule as a wedding dress.
Exactly, they bullied grandma into buying something she couldn’t afford.
They know exactly what is going to be said, the bride is asked all kinds of questions beforehand. All rehearsed
I wouldn't even want a wedding. If I ever get married (and I won't) a city hall license is good enough for me.
I couldn’t agree with you more ❤
Focus should be on the marriage not the wedding
The bride should not expect her grandma to pay her dress. She is an adult and must provide for herself.
Lori and Monte saw how the grandma wasn't willing to pay even 2k dollars for a dress and yet they put her in something even more expensive than the one that brat of a bride chose. Lori disappointed me this time. Randy and Gok would've chosen something that would make the grandma comfortable with the price.
Randy would have been very respectful of her mamie's budget. This was truly disappointing.
Lori and Monte do it all the time, they are sales ppl, they just come behind the camera to bash the entourage.
Noumi Hassan southern ladies survive in drama and gossip
If you want an expensive dress, you pay your own dress.
Not even gonna lie. The dress her grandma picked wasn’t even that bad , these girls only want the most expensive shit. They only make sure the price is big and don’t even really look at the dress. It’s all about the money.
Exactly. She says she didn’t like the one her grandma picked because it had ivory on it, and then picks a more expensive one with ivory.
And that one looked rather prettier
Makes you feel for the husband...
Agreed! It is so flattering and elegant on her.
Everyone’s bashing the bride but it’s also the consultant that isn’t showing her affordable dresses.
A friend who was a real estate agent for a while told me they were told to not ever show a client a house over their budget, because they will want the more expensive house.
This is not a show about respect, it probably comes down to money and the fashion industry. Yeah, granny is way behind the times, but that's a lot of money for her.
They have plenty other places, perhaps the show pays for the dress after all is settled. People must get something for going there and being filmed.

Gok would make the bride see the Grandma's POV and maybe do a compromise. Lancashire has better dresses for less money anyway

Is easy to spend money you didnt earn...
Grandma said 500. The brat said her budget was 2,000. The brat went 600 over he own imaginary budget. Deal with this for a moment.
Let great granny keep her money. She'll need it when she's raising Jesse's kid.
OMG E X A C T L Y
That's sooo funny and probably true!!! 🤣
Savage, so good 😂🤣
💀 dead asf
This is just cruel... Lost all respect for Lori and Monte
Me too. The nasty remarks about Granny & her money were totally uncalled for. Shame on them. I bet in her 93 years granny didn't spend $500 on a dress for herself.
@@patpeters6331 YES
my Grandma (She’s late 70s) Only paid £10 on fabric and someone to make it but hey that’s back then but the dress was still Gorgeous!
is it? You are going to a high end store then asking for cheap dress. It's like going to a big jewelry shop then asking for plastic jewelery. It was fault of the family for not considering their budget.
same but they are used to customers who are ready to pay 1000+ and its an expensive designer store so u cant expect more from the staff there
@@patpeters6331 probably not. if the grandma got married at 20ish years old she would have gotten married like 70 years before this episode happened and probably have spent way less on her dress.
The granny was definitely 'shamed' into buying something.
shame on the bride and the consultants... that was so wrong
I was also thinking of all the extra money: veil, adjustments, etc. Its actually much more expensive 😒
She should have gone to "VOWS".
As in I FOUND THE GOWN.
Twisting Granny's arm is not flattering. I hate this!
"I don't want to spend all my money on Jessie's weddin' dress."
Wisdom.
I'm never watching these consultants again.
They sure showed thier hind ends to the world in prime time
The way she sits with her arms crossed. "I'm not budging one red sent." XD
WTH!
My budget is $500, if I fall in love with something over that my sister is paying difference, as a gift up to $500.
@@ashleighray7503 that's lovely! And super generous of your sister. £500 is a lot of money and I don't understand why it was treated like pocket change in this clip?! Makes me so angry. Hope you have/had an amazing wedding 💒
@@user-xs8bt7fn2e September of this year. Nothing is done besides bridesmaids' dresses and I am sweating bullets.
@@ashleighray7503 wow! That's so exciting but nerve-wracking too. Have you found any dresses you like yet? I'm sure everything will start falling into place before long and you'll be able to take a breath! Good luck! I'm sure you'll have an amazing day 😊
@@user-xs8bt7fn2e a few but waiting until I see my sister next month to shop (we lived in different states 4 hours a part.)
The dress her grandma picked was so pretty
No it was not 💀
I actually really liked that dress tbh
I thought it was gorgeous! I would’ve gladly worn it lol
I wish I still had my grandma around. I can't believe how rude everyone was to the great grandma. I would wear whatever my grandma asked me to if she were still alive
Me too
I’m really sorry. ♥️
*Hugs* Me too 💜
Yeah I want my great grandma here and I would never treat her that way
Yeah... I understand you... They really need to start treat people around them better...
