Great video! I’m with exp as well! I worked during on BPO’s, property management during the last recession. Been licensed for 18 yrs!Hoping to connect with asset managers asap!
I really need a mentor. This video was a blessing. Already signing up. But lack of experience really hurts my resume. Thoughts for new guys to get started in REOs
I'm glad you got something out of it. Now you just have to start putting these steps into action. If you have questions I can spare some time. Schedule a call here. calendly.com/tomday/30min
Tom, thank you for this video. I am an investor looking to acquire REOs. How do I start a relationship with an REO agent? What value do i bring as an investor besides being able to close?
Thank you. The same thing I tell agents in other parts of the country. It's going to take some patience and persistence to break into REO. Inventory is still low but that will change.
With so many channels sharing a lot of mis-information, this channel is very good. I spent 20 years in RE, 7 of which in default. Tom is sharing a lot of great details that everyone should take to heart.
@@TheDefaultAgent thank you for the response.. I get it… Banks don’t want to talk w hundreds and thousands of “ Buyers” as they would much prefer to talk with professionals more familiar with the processes. Frustratingly for me though… 1) I am a very experienced real estate investor… but not in the REO world 2) I worked with Bank of America in the “ Short Sale” ( Freddie) department. 3) I am continually underwhelmed by the lack of “creativity” afforded to investors by both banks and even by Realtors and Brokers.
You aren’t going to find that anywhere. Fannie laid off most of their agents when the market shifted a few years back. They kept mostly their minority based companies. So they have a huge database of previous agents still in their database. Getting in now is almost impossible.

How/who did you give them a call and ask if there was any inventory in your market area?
Great video. I’m newly licensed & just joined eXp this month.
Thats great. Good luck. Be sure to join the REO mastermind group on workspace.

You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
I worked with an asset manager in my last brokerage and it’s definitely not easy getting into the circles of these guys
For sure. They have all kinds of agents chasing after them.
7 months . lol. Okay thank you for the honest time frame. It is going to take a little more. time than I thought
It will take some patience.

Your video was very informative. What do you recommend for a new agent in California?

You are very welcome. Thanks for your support.
Where do I find if Freddie or Fannie are hiring agents? I am looking on the website and not able to find that info. Please advise. thank you!!
The last time I looked neither of them were adding new agents. I would check back periodically.
