Feels to me that with their vocal talent - whatever advice judges would provide to bump their scores up should be very easy to incorporate. If you just need to nail a classic barbershop chart to win the judges over - do it lol

So…. when I heard them singing Sondheim, I thought this is going to be great. Their individual voices are so strong, but can we talk about the lead singer? That post at the end….took my breath away. I’m guessing he’s a professional singer/ musician? All of them?

I can’t understand it either. This group placed 35th, what?!!? Brilliant performance and two stellar lead/tenors in this quartet. I hope they jump up a number of places in Cleveland.

The singing and musicianship were insane. But maybe they were dinged due to the arrangement pushing the barbershop style envelope too much?

@@TempestTenor worth noting that this scored 80.6 in singing and performance but 78.4 in music, probably cause the arrangement is pushing the boundaries quite a lot

Something about 4:23 feels very off to me. I doubt it's the guys' performance, they are selling the hell out of that final verse, but there's something off about the arrangement or voicing. The return to this verse is so lively and energized with the chord substitutions and rhythmic changeup, but then this cord and the rest of the phrase feels muddy and disconnected with the preceding moments. It's too bad, because this throws a speedbump in the way of an absolutely killer end to this arrangement. Way to go, Praxis!
