I love the goblin rolling a dex save instead of running
"Come on, Nat 20... I NEED A NAT 20!" *3* "Absolute Dammi-" *SPLAT*
A 12hp goblin successful saves against 24hp damage.
@@garwynrosser8907 A reflex save in that case would be about not getting hit at all.
I just like goblin, giggity
@@miriamweller812 this is 5e dude, no reflex saves in 'ere
Wizard as always calculated everything perfectly, little did he know that average dnd party potential actions are beyond math and logic and morality and...
It is not possible to understand the reasons for this or that action of the DnD party without going insane and calling upon an ancient, indescribable, chthonic god.
And common sense
@@draconisrus9273oooooo can we do that? It sounds like fun, and I bet we could try to romance it too😚
As in you have Barbarian with an intelligence of 8, and Everything on CON, STR, and DEX. SOOOO this is the outcome lol.
“LEEEEEEROOOOOY! JJJJJENKINS!”
Anyone watching this and not yet played BG3 is going to wonder who the hell the bad guys actually are.
Maybe the real bad guys are all the friends we made along the way. (•_•)
I wish there was a counter for how many crimes we committed or at least a counter for how many neutral or friendly character we attacked how often we tried to steal something
Oh, I know who the bad guy is
It's me, I am the bad guy-
@@lixnix2018 Ikr? Currently wondering if me murdering the 2 tieflings that holded Lae'Zel captive will haunt me back (probably not for my conscience but maybe the game will come back to me for that), and currently wondering if I should kill Wyll before entering the grove or if I save him for Act 2 when I can just kill Mizora and he leaves to the Hells with her to be tormented as a lemure for eternity. It will be mostly a matter of if I'm patient enough to wait for the worst faith coming for him or if I will just end his life there. I just don't really care about him, he has normal problems compared to the other companions so that makes him the most boring in my eyes and I tend to hate the most boring characters in the cast so unfortunatly it goes to him. Decisions decisions.
It makes bad entertainment to show off the "goody two shoes" which I represent. You can indeed be nice, as for the goblins they are actually eating dwarves and planning some nasty stuff, so it´s quite okay to get rid of them. I played the Dark Urge turning good, even that was probably too boring to make a sketch of.
I swear the first time you aggro those goblins and see the sheer number of them, it feels exactly like this
I cleared inside the Ruined Temple thinking I was done and then went out the Front Door straight into combat. I did it with Lump's help but they all got killed. So many Initiative cards...
Just toss the electro chest into the room, all the goblins will die trying to loot it. Its glorious.
@@archmagemc3561I heard that it’s patched..
Truth, can't believe I got out of there without any deaths. Lots of janky fighting from up on those rafters, funneling them all onto the ladders, screaming in terror when the boss got up there with me, good times
@@ThisOldTechGuy I saw the ogre with his red circle: NOPE and got back inside, took the passage to the Underdark instead.
The Spectator play has me more and more convinced that Carbot is just animating his own party's playthrough 😂
Pretty much haha
How did you summon a Spector in the overworld?
@@DrippyWaffler In a previous episode they found an "Iron Flask" (pictured here as a Pokeball) in a chest on the Risen Road which has it trapped within
@@DrippyWaffler If you open the Zhentarim Cargo (in the chest Rugan is guarding, at the big gnoll fight), there's a bottle inside it that summons as Spectator when opened/thrown. That's what the Pokeball is a reference to.
@@DrippyWafflerhaha someone either missed Rugen or didn't open his chest 😅
I think my favorite running gag is with the goblins looking and sounding like the Fallen from Diablo 2.
Which is fair, since those are basically demonic goblins.
Im still waiting for them to summon their champion rakanishu
Carbot loves D2 sound effects. Even the goblin equipping the warhammer is from D2
@@bigsmall246 yea you also hear sounds from WoW and Warcraft 3
RAKANISHU
I came here to say this, thanks for existing mate
This party is so accurate- The rouge constantly sneaking around. The wizard constantly overthinking every situation. The bard constantly playing music, and of course, the barbarian constantly making a mess....
"The rouge constantly sneaking around."
If it's sneaky makeup, does that make it camouflage? :D
It's a Dark Urge barbarian too, so it's even worse
wtf is a rouge
The double face palm killed me. 😂
Yeah, that was hillarious !
The three Stooges making their entrance through the ceiling caught me offguard :)
And that rogue lockpicking the treasure room in the middle of Armageddon is definitely me in every DnD game...
Reminds me of my Tengu Swashbuckler in Pathfinder 2e XD He started with 0 Coins and after the first Town he had almost 250 Gold Coins XD He even stole from the Party.
That's my son we will be holding down 30+ goblins while he is somewhere looting the treasury.
If that's true and you really do that, you need to be a better player. frfr
As a DM, it's not that big a deal.
Easy solution to team play as poor as that is to let the person die when they inevitably get in trouble
The Barbarian antics always make me laugh. The Wizard only having 1 spell slot left at the beginning of battle was priceless.
2 things
1st, the little diagram showing initiative going out of the room is hilarious
2nd, i can really imagine something like this happening at a dnd game like there all at the table and wizard starts talking to the party like "ok i have a plan, you go here and you go here..."
barbarian: i push over a statue.
wizard: what?
barbarian: i push over a statue.
dm: you do realize that will alert the entire cave to your presence?
barb: i do it anyway.
the entire party: bruh
Not only he is a barbarian but the Dark Urge as well. He is conceived to cause chaos and destruction, and by the looks of it, he is not holding back.
Wizard and bard: -"Invisibility x 2, have a nice day, good luck with your next character."
Rogue -"pickpocket barb and sneak away."
@@Chikanuk Good luck trying to fit that inventory on a rogue though... :'D
@@AkuniLesare Just send it to camp. :D
Yes
The bard communicating with the flute is fucking hilarious

Okay, but that sound bite of the flute they used at 1:32 is totally from a scene in a movie or show, and it’s bugging the shit out of me that I can’t figure it out!

I'm old enough to recognize a Thief: The Dark Project lockpicking sound when I hear it. And I love it.
It wasn't until my 3rd watching that I realized the spectator was just growler "spectator, spectator.." like a real pokemon as it mowed down the goblin camp.
All you needed was the spiders you can summon as well
And Scratch. And Basket. And Connor. And..
don't forget the spiders in the goblin camp. If you are drow you can talk to them or use speak with animals. They will happily attack the goblins.
Those spiders suck, can’t kill anything

11 episodes in and we’re still in act 1. 😊
That's the best part, they're at about the same speed as I am and half the time a new video comes out I'm like "Hey! I just did that!" 😅
Yeah this is basically half way through Act 1 with the creche and under-dark/grymforge still to go lol

This week on Chaos Gate:
The Dark Urge hugs a statue
The Wizard plays pokemon
The bard barters through flute play
And the Rouge fiddles a gate.

“They say he has a mysterious butler; That his invintory is a mess of corpses;
That he used to be a white reptile… it’s the Dark Urge”
Nobody plays as makeup.
@JulianaBlewett I've been a gamer far too long to discount to possibility that someone is playing with rouge on
I love that the Diablo 2 imps are being accepted as the universal sound for anything small and devilish ❤
I need approximately 800 more episodes of this series. Pls and thank you
I love everything about this.
The mage carefully working on a plan.
The Barbarian pulling a Leeroy Jenkins, aggroing hundreds of goblins with Diablo 2 sound effects.
The long, long initiative list.
The Pokeball.
The Beholder with a minigun and MP5.
The rogue ignoring a critical situation as she concentrates on loot instead.
The contrasting ogres.
The bard carefully influencing the smarter ogre.
The Barbarian once again screwing up a success.
It's just great from beginning to end.
It doesn't look like a MP5 but more like a Skorpion vz61, or a bolter, it's a matter of size.
So basicly if the barb wasn't a 50t Truck holding all your Oil Barrels, the party would have thrown him out by?
"The barb", aka The Dark Urge. Yep, pretty much.
This series perfectly captures the feel of a multiplayer campaign.
Eh, i think he lost all of the explody barrels going by last episode, after all, why none were used in this one? This location is prime explody territory
SPOILERS:
Since the Dark Urge is the real mastermind behind the Villains' plan, I think he might be purposefully sabotaging the party's missions. 🧐
@@soldiersPLwith barbarians there are always more barrels
I legit screamed "NOOOOO" when the Dark Urge targeted the lantern at the end oml
You are really missing out if you don't kill the ogres. The warped headband of intellect you can loot off them lets you multiclass into a competent wizard despite min INT stat while maxing out another preferred stat. One of the most powerful items in the game.

The barb at the end was trying to help them get the band of intellect for the wizard because his int is low
To 15, not to 5.

The more I watch, the more I realize... I would never want to play with that barb, good lord what an unholy menace!
He is the Dark Urge, pity the other party members :)
You kidding me? I would absolutely love to play the whole campaign with a friend like that, just to enjoy the dimension of having to deal with every single catastrophe they'd bring that I couldn't even think of. It must be like. Having another awesome game in the already awesome game.
The barb in every video is almost 1:1 consistently doing the same "omg why" things as our non-oathbreaker Paladin in our first playthrough. Menace to society.
@@Sephisoo Non-oathbreaker? How long did that last? xD
@@PatrikLenghart I'd hate that shit lol. Here I am setting up a nuclear level fireball or some back to back mega divine smite chain kills and someone goes monkey brain and ruins it all....
I'd be "conveniently missing" during a tough battle so they die lol. Then loot their body and meta the shit out of my stats to solo the remainder of the campaign
the fact that this can actually play out in game shows how awesome bg3 is
Ok, you didn't have to come after us so hard with this one. I laughed until I nearly passed out.
Glad it wasn’t just me…
Every time I thought I was gonna stop laughing they hit me with another hilarious bit.
The dark urge has become the Dork Urge
Hey, it's the name I gave my Duergar Durge character!
For people watching, the spectator in a bottle can be found in act 1. Where a group of humans are defending themselves near a cave (see prevous carbot episode with the indiana rock). They have a chest with the bottle where the spectator resides.
Just throw it? Or how to use.
Thanks anyway.
@@stuckovstuckp
@@stuckovstuck yes, maybe using it spawn it on yourself too not sure.
but you have to break it to make it pop out. so whatever way you use to break it, like throwing it, works
but remember it's hostile to everyone. so better throw it in middle of enemies xD
@@LuckyPed10 Yeah using it just plops it on top of you. There's a little cutscene of your character fiddling around with the bottle. The Spectator ended up killing Scratch in my camp so I was forced to reload, can't have best boy die.
@@siegwardinspirit haha same i spawned in my camp too but i knew it might fak up so i literally saved before it with the intention of going back after :D
This. Is. GLORIOUS.
On my next playthrough I am going to also send the Ogres and the -Beholder- Spectator into the Goblin Camp and just hide in a fog cloud and enjoy the chaos. That looks so fun.
Wait.... how the heck do you get a Beholder???? I fought the one in the underdark but that's it.
@@kickit246 Oops, i meant the Spectator that is caged in the iron flask! The one they used here
The heck?! Haha, where do you get that??? I have 3 campaigns, 2 separate groups and 1 solo and I've never ran into that! I feel like I've probably missed a lot lol.
@@kickit246 Remember those Zhentarim that you save from gnolls in act 1? Their caravan was transporting a chest that contains an iron flask.
You can steal it from them, and if you use the flask (or throw it and break it), it releases the Spectator trapped inside.
The Spectator is hostile to everyone, so you can use it to take some blows (or give them) for you.
Fun fact, iirc one of the Zhentarim that attack the Nine Fingers in act 3 was the intented client, and she uses it in the fight against the guild if you don't kill her in time.
Omg! My one friend said not to look in there - he had already done that part in a different campaign - and I guess I just carried that through to my other campaigns. Argh I feel like an idiot lol.
I'm not quite in act 3 yet so I won't read that last paragraph. Thank you though!
The spectator saying its name when released from the pokeball was a great detail.
That warrior is a damn menace to that party 🤣
Barbarian!
OMG, this is so funny! 😂 You have created the perfect group of characters for this!
I did this exact same thing with the troll trio and surprised to find out that this was not big enough of a feast.
I think the joke is that it's never big enough because they're ogres
I convinced them to work for me and never summoned them once throughout the entire game...
I summoned them for the fight in the back room of the camp and did not have to deal with them afterwards as they all died in the fight, which was nice.
@@AndreyKrichevskysame
it's like all the party members have their own agenda that don't align/mesh well in this delicate situation X3
As quality as all the Carbot series are this may be the magnum opus. Every episode I've been laughing my ass off and it actually makes me want to try out a bard playthrough. Something I never thought I'd say.
I played a Dwarven Fighter/Bard in a multiplayer run and it ended up being pretty beastly in combat, and decently tanky in a party with a rogue and a couple of casters. We did have to call in those ogres to fight some Githyanki on a bridge, I kind of hope we get an animation of that battle at some point.
Didn't expect to hear Skies of Arcadia this morning. Thank you, CarBot, for making my day.
I KNEW that music was familiar! I couldn't place it until I read your comment, it's Ixa'taka's theme isn't it!
As a bard main, that last part is too real. The team mates never give a heads up before they f**k over the negotiations.
This is simply a comedy work of art.
every mage hand interaction just kills me

I am thinking The Dark Urge is honestly up to something. I mean, we just watched him indirectly or directly try to kill the bard.

That Skies of Arcadia, soundtrack. Was a throwback.
The rouge going straight for the treasure. Exactly like I did lol.
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone at Carbot. My wife and I love these BG3 animations and they always come out by the time I get home from work for the weekend. I can grab something to eat and unwind after a hard week, all while spending time with my wife. I’ve been watching for years and we both enjoy your content. So thank you, truly, for everything.
Dark Urge being Dark Urge is golden
The accuracy is on point as always
I just have to hear the carbot animation "beep-beep" and I hit the like button
The bard using jazz flute to pass persuasion checks is hilarious.
Durge is like me in DnD sessions with friends. No long plans or so, just "Let's fucking gooooo!!!".
I love the fallen sounds for goblins and the mage hand ✋️ 😂
Love the reference to gunholder from enter the gungeon very awsome. 🤟😉🤟
That red enemies taking up the top screen gets so much worse in act 3 haha
Love the variety of Skies of Arcadia songs you have in your videos!
Spell slots are the reason why I feel wizards are pretty useless in DND they’re more useful in boulders gate because unlike in normal D&D, you can just take a long rest nearly whenever you want so it becomes manageable, but in normal DND the fact that of random surprise attack or your parties doing something stupid starting combat when there otherwise wouldn’t be any can lead you to being worthless being some form of fighter or maybe a fighter spell using a hybrid like a paladin or a deaf night or something is the only way to actually be a spellcaster and be reliably useful because if you are a pure wizard or a pure source or pure whatever you will be in combat at times for long periods of time where running around beating people with your staff is on ironically the only thing you can do I genuinely believe they need to update the rules of 5E, and make it to where wizards have a special class ability that allows them to cast at least up to level two spells without needing to consume spell slot once they unlock spell, slot 3 or higher. That way, they are our always reliable useful, at least some small degree even when they’re out of greater spell slots. Because, as it is right now, warriors or Spellblades are objectively superior to wizards, even if someone could make an argument or a wizard is better than a warrior, it would only be true for a single battle maybe two and then you’re useless.
Durge Barbarian as always causing mayhem and destruction everywhere he goes through a mix of no impulse control and stupidity. lol.
You just Willy Wonka that flute?
Legit has been my "quick thinking" mental sound for at least 25 years.
I was not expecting the Horteka BGM when the video started.
You have fine taste, Carbot.
This Pokeball was such a huge trap, i tried to catch a monster with it, just to find out it released one xD
Dwarf Barb is the Leeroy Jenkins of Baldurs Gate
I cant wait to see later part of the game in this serie😂
I had a similar experience where I started the Halsin quest with half spell slots and had to kill all the leaders before I could return to camp. By the time I reached the final fight I was running on fumes so I finally blew the horn.
I literally binge watched all of these and i cannot wait for more
Throwing in the monster was exactly what my squad did. We just watched the chaos from above and finished up the rest. Bard cast silence and the groups sorcerer and barbarian cleaned up the place.
I lost it when all the enemy portraits were loading😵
The double facepalm with the mage hand had me rolling.
The Bard's persuasion style is perfect.
It’s such a shame these are so short, as I could watch hours of this!! Also, I need to meet that barbarian, as he is my soulmate. ❤️ keep up the videos!
The BEST one you have ever done! Laughing so hard!!!
I love how you keep using skies of Arcadia legends ost. Soo good
The wizard is the adult... the urge is his attention deficit son.
This embodies the Bard perfectly.
the goblins sound very much like the fallen from diablo II.
I love the bard character 😂
Even the scene where the wall is smashed with a hammer is 100% accurate because it is vulnerable to bludgeoning damage and that is the only easy way to break the wall. (Еxcept, blow it up with barrels)
One of the flute sounds the bard used to communicate with the Ogres was what Willy Wonka used to summon the Oompa Loompas. That was a deep reach into childhood nostalgia.
My group used the ogres to wipe out the party outside. And inside we used a stack of smokepowder barrels and a sneaky wizard hiding in the dark to instagib the red guy. Just kept me out of combat so I could slap the barrels when he ran by lol.
The og charlie and the chocolate factor flute play was good lol
