Hey. Your videos are really informative. Thank you for that. If possible can you please do a video on progressive collapse analysis using Etabs? It would be really helpful and highly appreciated.
Hey i also need a complete video on progressive collapse analysis, can you make for both of us early please? ill be great full. Thanks @@SmartEngineer2
thank you for clear explanation, i have one question while defining hinge you have done reinforcement to be chosen from design but in ur explanation you have not done design and wheather the design is safe or not.??? or with out designing software is taking reinforement ????
Oh, the solution for this problem is very simple, First have the EQ records, in the folder where you have saved the Sap2000 model, Second you have to specify and insert the same EQ record correct specification while adding the record, for THA. that is set, you just look for the above 2 correctness.
Thanks, a lot for your good wishes. You can calculate the Scale Factor with the help of SeismoMatch, SeismoSignal, or other alternative methods or softwares...
1:00:10 why didn't you change the gravity load to a DL+LL ? also the gravity + lateral ?!? because the code says : NUD shall be the maximum compressive axial load accounting for the effects of lateral forces Alternatively, it shall be permitted to evaluate NUD based on a limit-state analysis. and 58:09 for calculation of V the ASCE says use either time history or pushover procedure, why you used ELF ( and its load combination ) ?
There is no need to consider the vertical seismic load as it is negligible, while horizontal seismic forces (lateral loads) are typically more significant and commonly considered in structural design.

@@SmartEngineer2 while defining the time history load case, you have taken load case subtype as linear modal ... isnt that mean the analysis would be linear rather than non linear?
Very outstanding explaination, thanks for your great help
You are welcome.
how did you compute the 137.5 scale factor for your time history load case?

exactly !
sir at 58:09 , you select V Value from combo UDConS5 , why you choose UDConS6? i dont have a clue
Sir When I did the analysis the sap software gives me the sentence " error in reading time history file" so How can I solve this problem.

can i ask what's the purpose of putting hinges on the beams
Can you help me with an experimental example that I want to produce its results?
Thank you for good teaching. How did you calculate the SCALE FACTOR for Earthquake acceleration in lode case part?

How you get 137.51 for scale factor ?
For scale factor watch another lecture on our channel.
Sir is it fna method or direct integration method in time history
Hello sir, what about vertical seismic load ? How can I do?
There is no need to consider the vertical seismic load as it is negligible, while horizontal seismic forces (lateral loads) are typically more significant and commonly considered in structural design.
Thank you very much for the explanation sir
Hello sir, I wish you could explain how to perform blast load time history analysis...
Sure, I will make another tutorial on that regard,

Is this procedure correct and how much time it take analyses
of course, the time duration is depends upon your computer.

its linear time history analysis? isnt it ?
Nonlinear, Time History
it is already written in title and explained in lecture.

Nolinear time history?
Yes
