    The time history records which you obtained, are they in mm/s2 or m/s2 or g? Also, the unit of Scale factor g in etabs is 9806.65 if you select units in m/s2. While doing the Target Response Spectrum thing, you kept the Time History data unit as "g Units".

    Hi again, :)
    I have one more question about 11:15.
    You have earthquake records on x.y directions. You did define x direction record and y direction record. Its okay. To this point I understood. (btw i am a student)
    Why you did match response spectrum with earthquake record? What does this mean? This Why you didn't use only earthquake record directly?
    1- If I create response spectra using different soil types
    2- Then if I match each spectrum separately with this earthquake record
    As a result, can I find out how the same structure reacts to the earthquake in different types of soils?
    Thanks already for answers.

    • @civilmdc
      @civilmdc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I did matching,....
      It is called scalling of Earthquake...
      Two methods...
      1)scaled maching
      2)Spectrum matching
      I used here, Spectrum matching....
      Why I used....
      Because, any earthquake have its own properties like, it's magnitude, soil properties, intensity etc....
      To match any earthquake to your required site, where you want to construct the building, it may be low risk area,
      So that is why, I matched..
      Yes, after scalling under different soil conditions it will behave different......
      I think so...

    • @civilmdc
      @civilmdc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      2ndly, you can apply earthquake directly to your building without matching...
      But then you have to mention.... You have used uncalled earthquake.

    Hello, is Ig/R also used in NLTHA in etabs fin load case or in RSA only? I think I read somewhere under csi that the scale factor for the load case in time history depends on the unit of the record? like if its g units, its scale factor is 9.81 if your model is in meters.. kindly correct me if Im wrong..

    Hi, firstly thanks for this videos.
    I have one questions about 21.20, why you didn't change ''Load Name'' as U2. I think ''TH- Y imperial'' on the y direction. You did forget or something. If you can explain i have so happy. Thank you

    Thank you for your effort .But I have a question
    It's mentioned that matching Time history record to response spectrum is for Non-linear Time history analysis . Meanwhile , when you define the load case of time history , you made linear time history. is it correct?
    in case of linear time history i guess it is needed to divide by R only !
