@MaxMustermann-bm7qt Congrats on nailing the waterstart! That's awesome progress. I'm glad you enjoyed my video! Perhaps one day, we'll be pulling off moves like the pros! 😁 If there's anything specific you'd like to see in future videos or any questions you have, feel free to share. Happy kiting! 🏄♂️✨
Thanks so much! I'm glad you could relate to the experience. Kitesurfing is such a fantastic journey, and capturing it in this way adds a whole new dimension to the excitement. Do you have any favorite moments from your own kitesurfing adventures?
You achieve waterstarts and transition, I think you already passed the level not to anymore be qualified as beginner ! next step slided transitions and toeside. Enjoy the best sport ever created ;-O)
Thanks a bunch! 🙌 Your words mean a lot! 😊 I’m definitely feeling more confident out there, but there’s always room to grow, right? 💪 Slided transitions and toeside are definitely on my radar for the next challenges! Can’t wait to push my skills even further and keep enjoying this amazing sport! 🏄♂️🌊
How to set up go-pro like this? It is somehow elevated behinde author shoulder...? Never seen it like this in any kitesurf videos. Very good angle for study and reivew process.
Thank you for the kind words about the video! Actually, this isn’t a GoPro-it’s an Insta360 One X2. It’s a 360-degree camera that captures everything around it, and then you can edit the footage to choose the perfect angle. The “invisible selfie stick” makes the stick disappear from the video, giving that elevated, floating look behind the shoulder. It’s a great tool for kitesurfing and analyzing technique!
Excelent session, very motivating for all of us begginers! I'm still having trouble getting consistent waterstarts but I'm determined to nail it this season!
Looks pretty good to me! It seems you want to fly the kite one-handed. Just grab the bar in the middle with your backhand and with your index-finger on one side or the center lines. Very useful for going more upwind. Also, you might want to move the kite a bit less by moving your hands closer together.
Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely try grabbing the bar one-handed and work on moving the kite less. How long have you been into kitesurfing? By the way, my next goal is to learn how to jump 😁 🏄♂️🚀
I think someone else said it but put your hands in the center, 90% of the time, it will slow the kites movements as there is less leverage in the center. I like to put my backhand thumb over the entire center so its just on the uphand side. Not sure why I like this but I noticed a lot of pros(people way better than me) do that as well. But you are doing great!!! keep it up
Thanks a ton for the advice! I’ll definitely try adjusting my hand position and see how it affects the kite’s movements. Appreciate the encouragement, and I’ll keep pushing to improve! 🤩 🙏
I think you are doing great for a noob. I’m probably the same level and I’m trying to park the kite more when riding, try not to grip the bar and feel the kite power and edge at the same time against the kite power. But you rode a good session.
Thanks a bunch for the encouragement and tips! It’s awesome to hear that I’m on the right track! I’ll definitely focus on improving my kite control and finding that sweet spot of power and edge 😁💪
@MrWest202 I don't use a dedicated case, but I make sure to check that all the ports and the battery compartment are properly closed. It's essential to pay close attention to these details to avoid any water-related risks.
@davidastrauss Thanks! I use an Insta360 One X2 mounted on my helmet for those action shots. It's a fantastic combo for capturing the kitesurfing adventure. If you're into filming or have more questions about gear, feel free to ask! 🎥🏄♂️ #Insta360 #HelmetMount
Hey, i am actually at a jumping level, if is was you i would try to trust your kite more. Many beginners tend to be a bist scared, you dont have to be. Btw, cool spot…
Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll definitely work on trusting the kite more. Your advice means a lot, especially coming from someone at your level. Glad you liked the spot too! 😎😃
Yes, it may seem hard at first, but with some practice, it becomes more and more enjoyable and rewarding! Never give up, keep trying, and you’ll see how much progress you’ll make!
it's true, I had too much depower... I think it was the fear of having too much power to manage! maybe I should try to keep less depower pulled, so I could keep the kite more stable in the wind window! what do you think?
So a beginner is in onshore conditions? Pretty stupid usually but he did well. If you’re a beginner, don’t scree with onshore. You’ll get fucked easily and wreck our spots.
Absolutely, I acknowledge that onshore wind conditions may not be the most optimal, but for a beginner, gaining experience in various situations is crucial. Frequent practice is key to improving skills. Do you have specific advice on how to better handle onshore conditions during the early stages of learning?
Hey man! Dude you are killing it. Looking really good out there. I think you are doing a great job at not choking the kite. You are giving it room to breathe by keeping the bar out some. One thing I would recommend you start doing is holding closer to the middle of the bar and not having your hands so spread out. Not a huge deal in this light wind but its something you want to have as muscle memory for the stronger days. Just keeping your hands closer together will help a lot in the future. And as far as tips for lying in on shore conditions…. You were doing fine. Just keep two kite distances from the beach. It’s not a bad thing to ride on shore winds as a beginner. It’s obviously a light calm day with pretty calm water. I would encourage it. As far as your question about advice with onshore winds… It’s a little bit more about board skills. You’ll notice you’ll catch your edge a bit more on the white water. Focus on almost hopping over them after building up speed in the smooth sections. Keep shredding man!
Oh and last thing! I know gear is expensive but you should get a better bar! That thing looks pretty old and my biggest fear is equipment failure! Your bar is your life line and you want to have something you trust and gives you confidence out there! I recommend the north navigator bar
@@jessejoseph2082 You're right; safety comes first. I'll definitely look into upgrading the bar, and thanks for the recommendation on the North Navigator bar. Quick question: do you think it's an issue if the brand of the bar is different from the brand of the kite? Thanks again for looking out! 🙏🏄♂️
@@jessejoseph2082 Hey, thanks a ton for the detailed feedback and encouragement! I really appreciate your insights, especially about holding closer to the middle of the bar. I'll definitely work on that! I'll also focus on those board skills and work on hopping over the white water. Your support means a lot. Thanks again for taking the time to share your expertise! 🏄♂️💨

Are you using any kind of case for your insta360 one x2? Heard the waterproofing is not that great on it.
