Years are is not a good measurement. I know people that have been kiting for 10 years (2 times a year) and still suck. A friend of mine has been kiting only for 2 years (3 times a week) and he rips. I'd say you're ready when you are able to handle gusts and any adverse situations with your kite. Also, make sure you can do a self rescue. Using the QR should be a second nature. 'just get a small kite' is not a good answer, because you have to be able to hold your own and save yourself when things go wrong. You also need skills, not only smaller kite sizes. In 35 knots shit goes wrong way faster than in 15 knots. If you break something, you need to be as intuitive as possible with your kites. Because a broken limb will drain a lot of your attention.. ;) Don't think I'm exaggerating, because this still is an extreme sport. Especially in higher winds. I've seen a lot of accidents throughout the years, and its always better to be safe than sorry. And remember: you don't need to prove anything to anyone. Everything has already been done. It's all about having fun ;)
I rarely use gloves in wintertime (only when its 5 degrees or lower). They get used to it! Just make sure you have a pair with you if things go wrong and you have to spend a lot of time in the water.
Looks like you've got the whole spot to yourself most of the time, nice stuff!
Here in winter not so many people are out on the water i guess
Very cool💪
Nice footage, also those 35 knots look pretty chill
Birds eye view 🔥
Definitely high end player, massive applause from the audience of China!
Hahha thanks 👋
How will the audience of China have access to youtube?
Excellent! Perfect!
Hardcore! Gotta admire the no nonsense launch and landing. Maybe try Cape Town during the next Dutch winter...KLM flies there directly. ;=)
Hahha good plan:))
how about no flying on carbon and acquiese that everything could and should be different due to climate change?

Crazy🤙🏽
Don't know about the self launch positioning: those two bins looked like they were in a potentially troublesome position at 2:19!
As you can see i got pulled to the side because of the wind direction so the bins where not a problem.. i guess it looks like i know
@@dsan05 anything downwind is a danger .1 line snap on launching teaches you that

broer heb dit jaar leren kiten ben nu begonnen met loopen mr ik heb tt veel zin in deze tijd van t jaar
Haha lekker man🤟
This looks amazing, if someone is intrested in buying a starterpack kitesurf, 2nd hands is also fine. what price range would that have?
Depands how much you want to spend price 2nd hand can go from 500-5000
Awesome video, how could you use the music on your edit without getting copyrighted?
It is no copyright music;))
i reall miss european wind.
Show de bola

Thanks dude💪
Isnt the c4 the looping kite
Enduro/edge are better
SUPERDIK!!
these frontloops... 😱
moet je lessen nemen hiervoor? of kan je dit gewoon doen als je beetje kan surfen, skaten etc en uitzoekt hoe die kite werkt?

Never tried a contra loops, any tips? Should I just go for it?
Just sendd it bro! But make sure you got your normal kiteloops dialed in
👏
do you have your gopro on a helmet?
No in my mouth 😮
Overpowererd with 9?
In the beginning definitely overpowerd but the wind died a bit at the end 😅

How many years kiting approx. for kiting at 35knots?
If you feel comfortable than you are ready
@@thijs.linthorst when did you start (how many years aprox of practice) confortable kiting with that knot speed, just to have an idea?
@@aseuvella6102 Years dont matter we started as soon as we got comfortable (within 6 months) just start with a smaller kite.

Paar jaartjes!
Nice session! What was your kite size?
9m Enduro:)
🥶🥶
What height did you achieved?
I didn’t measure it but normally with this wind my kiteloops are around 10m
Gewaagd een self launch in 35 knopen met downwind van de kite die prullenbakken :)
Volgende keer beter een leash gebruiken idd;)
I never understand how this works shouldnt you only be able to travel like in one direction and then you have to swim back or something
Blud what. Go watch a video about kitesurfing upwind
It works kind of the same as sailing, you can go left right upwind and downwind
Style points 10 for me...
