It's as simple as Spider-Man 2 being an amazing game that excels in so many aspects that it got that many nominations but then having at least a more deserving game in each of those categories. Not winning doesn't demerit the game at all, it's been a crazy year with many fantastic games

im not going to lie spiderman 2 was mid once you’ve used the web wings, slingshot and loop around buildings its the same as miles morales and Spiderman 2018. the story seemed a little vanilla imo and boring. got exactly what they deserve down there with Star Field, had a solid game to build on in the first game, did not innovate nearly enough where it counts, had far more bugs than features, and the writing was a vehicle for the message. The lame cheery on top of it all is the character assassination of Peter spitting on Uncle Ben's memory by "retiering," and the biggest conflict of the game in Harry's showdown was with the wrong spiderman. Even a child can tell you that it would have been much more satisfying to have Peter Harry's longtime friend and confidante and perceived betrayer finish that fight than Miles, some kid who has met a hand full of times and has no emotional stake in.
Spider-Man 2 was a fun but flawed game. Was a decent sequel that added to the formula but it didn’t wow me or anyone really. Didn’t revolutionise anything for the genre. On paper it shouldn’t win. Baldur’s gate definitely deserved it, anyone saying different hasn’t played it or seen it

Spiderman two might as well been the first game. It just wasn’t creative enough and very lacking, with bits of social engineering added in. It didn’t deserve any awards besides its technical achievements. Also, leave Chris alone. The cod campaign was short, rushed, and boring.

im not going to lie spiderman 2 was mid once you’ve used the web wings, slingshot and loop around buildings its the same as miles morales and Spiderman 2018. the story seemed a little vanilla imo and boring. We've had Spiderman games almost annually for the PS5. Its difficult to define a single year with that release rate.
Miles was basically an expansion not a full game and Spiderman 1 was 5 years ago
@@The_MEMEphis they then remastered it last year. My point is that if Miles was released as DLC for PS4, and Spiderman 2 was the only game on PS5, the reception would probably be a lot higher. Despite there only being 3 games, they all blend together. And I'm sure that the general Marvel Fatigue certainly isn't helping either

Because it was just a fun game with an alright story but came out a bit of a buggy mess. The suits were super cool but that's it, removing special powers tied to the suits was a downgrade imo. Nothing amazing, really.

got exactly what they deserve down there with Star Field, had a solid game to build on in the first game, did not innovate nearly enough where it counts, had far more bugs than features, and the writing was a vehicle for the message. The lame cheery on top of it all is the character assassination of Peter spitting on Uncle Ben's memory by "retiering," and the biggest conflict of the game in Harry's showdown was with the wrong spiderman. Even a child can tell you that it would have been much more satisfying to have Peter Harry's longtime friend and confidante and perceived betrayer finish that fight than Miles, some kid who has met a hand full of times and has no emotional stake in.

Spider-Man 2 was a fun but flawed game. Was a decent sequel that added to the formula but it didn’t wow me or anyone really. Didn’t revolutionise anything for the genre. On paper it shouldn’t win. Baldur’s gate definitely deserved it, anyone saying different hasn’t played it or seen it
