@Vipppala No, they aren't disabled but how many do you see performing a two hour, intense Metal show with a ten pound guitar strapped to their body, while negotiating a dark stage with stairs and no breaks. My guess is not many.
Miyako's stone-faced stage presence was a deliberate act during this time period. She is naturally more reserved than Midori, but the two of them decided to play up that yin/yang between them by having Midori be more animated than usual, and having Miyako be more stoic than usual. There is video somewhere of them talking about it being an artistic choice in one of their interviews. They adopted those personas during the 2020 and 2021 tours, but seem to have gone back to their normal stage personas, with Miyako being more animated and fun (like she was in 2018 and 2019) during the 2023 tour.

you will learn - and quickly - to love miyako the dark haired guitarist. she plays the badass but is just seriously ultra talented and writes much of the music. as well as playing the keyboards at an elite level. most of the time she's all business on stage as opposed to midori the blonde guitarist who hypes the crowd with her power stances and huge smiles and faces. it doesn't hurt that they are two of the best guitarists on earth either. this band is pure gold.

I'm sure I won't be the only person to tell you this, but stopping the video in the middle of a guitar solo is a mortal crime. People have been sent to prison for less.
As the comments will begin to pour in, just remember that we told you, after your first reaction, that there are another 55 original songs by the band, all but a couple have been played live (thanks Covid) and each time it was, it improved upon, or matched the studio version. Not once, but, for example, I saw them 4 times last year and a couple of songs were played at all four gigs. You could play them one after the other and you’d be hard pressed to tell them apart. I’m 64 and I’m confident in saying that LOVEBITES (it is actually capitalised 🙂) are *THE* best band, in every aspect, both musical and personal, that you are ever likely to hear. Not only were they perfect on day one, but they consistently improved upon perfection album upon album. I love these ladies. I couldn’t give two f$$ks if I never listened to another band ever again, and particularly a male band. Too much posturing.

Right on-I came upon them by accident a few weeks ago and have listened every day. I can't open my computer without watching them. I saw a lot of great bands with great guitarists late 60's-70's-The Experience-Zeppelin-Cream-Who and everyone else and was simply spoiled by greatness on a regular basis. Pretty snooty about what people call a "great band" or guitarist. . This band IS a great band-with great guitarists-They could hold their own with ANYBODY. I want to see them ASAP..
Miyako, the black-haired guitarist playing the Dean ML on right of screen was between 4-5 months pregnant when this video was recorded and played several other two hour concerts during the same tour. I'm looking forward to seeing Lovebites from the front row when they play a 350 capacity venue in the UK in the middle of June. Can't wait.

LOVEBITES is just doing LOVEBITES things. They are coming to USA later this year! Miyako the guitarplayer with the black hair is sort of introvert on stage. I think she is so concentraded on playing perfect. She also is nearly a concert pianist skill person. AND here she has a 4-5 babybump as well. If You look into videos from 2023 she is a little more out. On her own TH-cam channel she is a more outgoing person. There is a live video with the song Raise som hell. She looses up on that "easy" song... and the 2021 concert was under pendemic restriction. Clapping hands was only allowed!

You shouldn't laugh at Miyako (guitarist, brunette). Do you need "more energy"? I'll try to tell you something.
This concert took place on March 26, 2021, as part of the national 'Ride For Vengeance Tour' LOVEBITES (March - April 2021). Imagine yourself in Miyako's place. You are a woman, during a concert tour in different cities of Japan, during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the Tour you are 4-5 months pregnant (this is not a joke, Miyako was pregnant and this can be seen during the concert). Each concert lasts almost 2 hours, 18 songs (90% of them are speed, thrash, etc. metal).
And you must perfectly perform complex parts on guitar, piano, keyboards + backing vocals during each concert. Being 4-5 months pregnant! You risk contracting Covid-19 and infecting your unborn child! Do you still want to laugh at Miyako?
I have watched this concert in its entirety many times. There are few male guitarists in the world who, being in good physical shape, could play better than the pregnant Miyako! Most likely, many of them will be inferior to the pregnant Miyako in technique! Today, Miyako is one of the best guitarists in the metal world, both among women and among men. And a brilliant composer!
By the way, the author of the music for this song is Miyako.

Miyako's mentality during live shows is that of the Iron Lady, even when she's pregnant.
She plays more than just the guitar, so even though she's always nervous, she pulls it off perfectly.
However, although she is usually very kind, she sometimes forgets the names of her songs or forgets things.
She's a genius, but there's something about her that makes so many people love her.

He was so specific with the recommendation because most people prefer hearing them live and sometimes there are two live versions of the same song and he prefers one version over the other. Miyako, the stone-faced guitarists, thats just her look when she plays. Also as others have mentioned, she is several months preggers here. Ironically she seems to be the most active of the group on social media and she often makes how to type videos and other stuff on her channel. she smiles a lot more then and she is very sweet and respectful with a cute since of humor. It's only on stage she does that for some reason. LOL.
But these girls have yet to make a bad song in my eyes.
They have never been to the US as a group and it looks like they only have one date this year sometime after August in the SE I think.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
This year in June LOVEBITES‘ first world tour starts in Europe. In September they will play their biggest headline show ever in Tokyo. After that LOVEBITES will have their US debut …

She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer

She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete

Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food

Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop

Miyako. Yes, she is very calm, but this was covid show and she was also pregnant at the time. which makes it a bit extreme :D
that concert was covid restricted (no screaming,only every second deat occupied). so the audience couldn´t go wild and throw back the energy as usual. you´ve witnessed how perfect they perform, how much energy they radiate and what great stage presence they all have. their composition skills match that level. in their backcatalogue of around 60 songs is NO stale, bad or mediocre one. main composer with around 70 % is the dark haired guitarist miyako. she was in the second trimester of her pregnancy as you know now. also has she trained classical pianio since the age of three and plays on pro level too. that young lady is razorsharp focussed and not onstage to smile

Was waiting to see which of the standard "Lovebites first time reaction" comments you would make.
Here is the main one you nailed. Miyako, the dark haired guitarist is kinda famous for the disinterested look :D. It's either partly a persona thing, or she if focused. But its commonly joked about. In some songs so she goes for it more. But Midori, the other lead guitarist is more of the power stance one ^^
Also I think Miyako, the dark haired guitarist, was heavily pregnant at this show. She is also one of the main composers for the band, brilliant on the guitar, and then to top it off a concert level pianist which shows up in some songs.
Secondly, you are pretty one the nose with with older power metal vibes. The are heavily influenced by Maiden, Helloween etc. Their home base is Thrash and Power metal.
They are the first and only time I have had a favourite band, just based on sheer number of songs of theirs that have ended up in my best songs ever playlist, they just beat all other bands for me on quantity. Going to see them in the UK in June, whoop!

OMG....yeah the best new band to come a long in quite a while. They are petite musicians who wear their femininity proudly but once they hit the stage in heels and gowns they turn into metal goddesses. MIyako the dark hair guitarist always looks stoic, she is a classical trained pianist who was taught the music and instrument stirs the listener not the musician. BTW she was 4/5 months pregnant here as well but played the entire set this hard. This venue was COVID restricted at the time (less than 50% capacity, social distancing, no yelling, singing or screaming and only clapping allowed) yet the band still brought the house down. They play Power, Speed, Thrash, Prog, Rock, classical piano, acoustic guitar, and even ballet dance steps.
If you liked this try Hammer of Wrath. Midori the other guitarist is the polar opposite of Miyako (a/k/a M&M) yet they blend perfectly and together harmonize better than any other duo LIVE out there. Asami on vocals at 4' 10" is a powerhouse Napoleon stage general who never sang metal till she joined this group. Haruna at 4' 9" on drums is a beast and her cymbal work is legendary. Miho/bass is the founder who left the group for personal reasons after this show. Fami/bass is a 21 y.o. phenom who has stepped in and the band hasn't missed a step. Welcome to the Wolfpack(fan base). BTW, LIVE is the only real way to experience this group.

For the record 98% of us look like we are low energy flanking Midori Tatematsu. She is as energetic as a Super Nova. Actually Miyako is quite active considering she has too be near her floor board multiple times per song. Midori's effects are all programmed into the Kemper. Midori = High Energy and Miyako = Stoic. Thats M&M.

I pursued the rock star metal band thing from the mid 80s in Los Angeles and was in bands until just a few years ago. Priest, Queensryche, Motorhead, Racer X, etc, etc are all my faves....these ladies are my FAVORITE BAND since I saw this exact video three years ago upon a TH-cam suggestion. The next YT suggestion was Thunder Vengeance.....OMG. Watch that now and you'll be shouting at your computer like I was back then, "WHAT THE F AM I WATCHING!?!?!"

Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Lovebites is one of the best bands in our country. Their live performance is much better than MVs. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)

Some constructive criticism if I may. You've somehow converted the stereo audio from the original video into mono. Mono sound sucks in general, but a band like LOVEBITES with its dual guitars and harmonised solos really does need to be listened to in stereo to be fully appreciated. Could you please fiddle with the settings of whatever software you use so you retain the original audio quality.

Fami's great. I suggested this particular video because I think for a first contact reaction the level of thrash, fire, head banging etc has a lot of impact. Most of their performances do, but based on the other videos on this channel I thought it was a safe bet to get the Lovebites hooks in early :D

I ran a test on this a few times, to see if the Miho vs Fami thing is still going strong today. The best way to test it, is to list Fami’s TH-cam channel. That is the most upsetting for some. If it becomes a plague, the OP is not entirely wrong. To be fair though, adding extra stuff in the post may influence things as well, and with my many criticisms (as many know), I’m also not the best one to test it out.
Edit: I changed my other post, but it may be too late for more accurate feedback.
