Once I got my aero, I clutched it for the finish and bypassed rolling the dice on the lap banners. I didn't want to gamble it even at 50/50 chance. It still wasn't enough to catch that 1st place acceleration - 62kg riders goes zoooooooom! 😅 Unlucky that you had draft instead of aero for the finish - although I think you got some reasonable use out of it until you came past me. Either way, last week was .03 difference and this week was .14 seconds. Down to the wire both times with me yelling into the air trying to convince my legs that they have something more to give.
That was an amazing acceleration and you timed it to perfection to get the gap and not give us enough time to close it back down. Very well done. 💯 I have a teammate on Rhino that has similar weight and sprint acceleration - it's very hard to contend with if he times it right like you did.
Thanks! Especially when some of these sprints come down to hundredths and even occasionally thousandths of a second, I don't ever want to get to the finish line and think "I had more left to give - if I had only just pushed a little harder."
I was well motivated trying to close down Panu and Tanner 😅 Panu's acceleration was off the charts and Tanner has very similar power to mine. For sure though, strength training in the home gym you can see in the background is critical to keeping some pop in these old legs.
Great race again! Always fun when it goes to the line!!

68 km/h
If I attack any slower, I won't be able to catch up with you.

@E.M.B.R I like your motivation in the sprint, it's so fierce.

Watt Fiest last 400!! Impressive! Someone (me) needs to hit the gym....
