- We scored all time great conditions during the Cape Hatters Wave classic due to a hurricane off the coast. First the hurricane came straight for us but lucky enough it barred of to sea witch gave us strong wind and big waves.
I thought why not ride straps during the contest. It just feels so good. Let me know what your thoughts are below in the comments.

it is all depending on the condition, white water washing mashine = straps, clean glass like waves = straplless :)

Sorry i missed you in Hatteras both times this year. Love Real and Watermans, they always put on the most epic events. Still havent mastered the waterstart but I love meeting pro kiters and really wanted to shake your hand.

REAL is actually in a smaller norther town of Hatteras called Rodanthe, but still a sick spot, I go every year!

I like the strapped atitude bro...always tell everyone on my coaching trips, that straps can add a lot of fun, specially for those that are not riding on daily basis. On that level that you showed is even more fun, reminded me of the Chile PKRA event that we made the final together, fins up all the way! :))

You made riding with straps look amazing!! Glad they gave you credit for the riding ( third place). Watched you ride at Scarborough Beach in SA strapless, and you made it look effortless climbing over 10foot whitewash from the waves crashing,.. Maybe you would have won strapless?

Mesmerizing!! That was flippin' incredible! I have been thinking about beginning my kiting journey/training at REAL- there or Cabarete. Those waves were crazy and you really worked them.

@@coolhari2000 Yeah, I noticed that, too. That is why I am considering going to Cabarete.
@@Pete_R63 I've heard good things about cabarete (specially when it's freezing balls in the US). If you do go to cape hatteras, check out KittyHawk kiteboarding or what used to be North kiteboarding. The instructors are awesome.
@@coolhari2000 Thanks so much for the info. I, too, have heard a lot of good stuff about several places in Cabarete. The combos I have seen of lessons and lodging seemed really worthwhile. What slays me is, I go to Jamaica every summer and on the north shore the wind is always honking perfect all day long steady side on shore and I never see any kiters. I feel like it is a hidden treasure.
Thanks to GKA it is probably fair to say that strapped is cooler these days. I would never have thought to say that one day.

Kev, you should change your tripod to DJI's Osmo Mobile 3 !!!
Where I can see a live video I mean full video of your or some one else rides so I can see how you deal when you fall, I you going in to the water, pumping kite etc.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Kevin do way more tricks than the strapless rider's. If so, he should have won that comp.... And why be a Trendy strapless rider and limit what you can do....
I don't understand why would you ride strappless, do straps not give you an obvious advantage?

I don't get why with straps. Shouldn't all riders have the same setup? 'Cause with straps it's a lot easier. Brilliant content though :)
