What I always liked with these scenes is showing the love and compassion in Janos' heart, with how he reacted seeing Raziel as his vampire/Soul Reaver self as well as how he showed he didn't hate humanity because he wanted to keep them safe from the wrath of the Hylden, as well as the sadness and shock Raziel felt when he sees his Sarafan self, when he was human, ripping the Heart of Darkness out of Janos' chest and that he began to see what Kain said about how the Sarafan's agenda was no different from his failed empire.

Something that just occurred to me: It's at the Vampire Citadel where the vileness of the Sarafan is shown to Raziel, and at a different point in time, the 'Oracle' is revealed as the parasitic Elder God to Kain. These revelations completely change Raziel's and Kain's goals from that point onwards, and both times, the citadel is teetering on the point of collapse. Neat.
4:02 "They don't know what they're doing" "And they are vulnerable to manipulation" The irony of this statement is that the vampires themselves were manipulated by the Elder God.
Janos was such a great character. I wanted more scenes with and about him. Much like Vorador, Janos was an interesting character who needed more of a role.
@@MegaYoYo The most likely hypothesis is that it was a mistake by the game developers, but I like to think that following the events of Defiance, the revived Janos had a part in this "resurrection".
Which, ironically enough, is exactly what the Elder God wants since it keeps the wheel turning and leads all souls back to him. After all, it takes Kain a millenium of rule over a failed empire to realize his mistakes and seek a better path. And once healed of the corruption that causes the blood thirst, its possible that in the new timeline he will walk a better path.

There is an interview from the game director Raina who explains why SR2 looks the way it does. they did the best they could with the budget they were given for the project because tbh SR2 just needed a remake to actually make it look good there was no way a remaster would fix the blurred models and objects so it does look really jarring at times but in her noclip interview I kinda understood why it doesn't look all that great. I'm okay with it though because at least I can play it on modern hardware and with actual controller support
@@radagonsoreseal3457 That doesn't explain why they could weight paint the eyes on Wraith Raziel, Kain Vorador and Janos, but they flunked on Mobius and Human Raziel. Was it just an oversight? They must've been able to reference the weights on the old models to some degree. I would be fine with an excuse like "Oh well it wasn't preserved for every model" or something. But so far it seems like the one in charge of it just didn't finish all the models on time. But it would be nice to know if they will update it. That is nitpicking though. Do tou know what I find hilarious about these games: theu portray the vampires, the bloodsucking monsters of horror stories into angels. Humans are portrayed as monsters for defending themselves! 😂😂😂 Humans are supposed to be the sheep of vampires and let themselves be turned and or eaten... 😂😂😂 The ancient angelic vampires who banished the atheist Hylden suddenly find themsemselves cursed to be monsters and instead of making spells to cure themselves or I don't know, grow farm animals like pigs to feast on, which are the closest animals to humans, they instead feed on humans and expect no reprocusions for being violent killers. 😂😂😂
Hey, I loved this scene 10+ years ago. It made perfect sense to me. Now after thinking it over I realize that Janos Audron is as fake and dirty as everyone else. To say that humanity is easily manipulated and easy to control. Lol, Janos, my fellow Vampire, your race commited a gene-o-side against another race of being for simply being more advanced technologically and being atheists to your Calamry God. You can say about the humans a lot of things but being easy to lead an manipulate is no more beneath the vampire race who could fly and had amazing magic but were so easy to convince to destroy another race of atheists. Humans has to be convinced with REAL threats: "the vampire race are attacking your people, they are eating your people, they sre turning your people, stealing your kids and turning them into vampires." At least humans had legitimate reasons to hate vampires. Not like the angelic and noble vampires who blindly followed their god and F-ed arround with the wrong people and found out on own. So yeah, I think it is perfect irony that Vampires received the same kind of treatment from humans, an inferior group of beings considered beneath them as they had done to the Hylden who the Hylden considered to be beneath them. I love this Universe because it understand that cycles repeat themselves.

@Username-ng8jy How exactly are the humans involved in the Hylden vs Ancient Vampire war? We have to remember that Janos Audren and Vorador's hybrid vampires were all cursed with the need to eat red blood and they primarily hunted humans for it.
