Love watching the video, it reminded me of my growing up years. When those ads ran the first time I was 9. The next year I would turn 10. I'm 60 right now but later on this year I will be 61. You made an old woman happy. Love from Marysville, California

You are really bringing out the treasures lately! One after another treasure trove of incredible Chicago television memories. Wow, it's great to see such a clear and in-color Lemon Refreshed Mr. Clean commercial. The Clark commercial- now that is CREATIVITY! The 5th Avenue commercial shows that for certain, the visual aesthetic of The Summer Of Love some 4 years earlier had made its way to Madison Avenue.

I think the blonde girl in the Milky Way ad is Trish Stewart. She was an original cast member of The Young and The Restless when it premiered in 1973. David Hassellhoff played her husband on the show. She later did that short lived series with Andy Griffith Titled Salvage I. She was also a regular revolving guest on Match Game.

5:11 a trippy early 70s vibe to advertise 5th Avenue candy bars. This sort of "feel" was completely gone from television commercials just a year or two later.

Another early 1970s spot which has a young Hal Douglas doing the voiceover. This time it's for Swanson. I remember Axion; this was a product Arthur Godfrey used to endorse (Godfrey isn't in this ad), but
he stopped when he contended it was a pollutant. John McGiver tells
his niece about why there is an alligator on the box of Baggies.

Axion was introduced by Colgate as an enzyme pre soak around the same time that P&G introduced Biz; they competed with each other for years

I also found a clip of a recent interview with Diane Keaton where she was shown that ad and she said it was one of the best thing that happened to her. She said those ads helped finance her early career for 5 years. She said she also improvised the bite on the husbands ear instead of just hugging him. The producers loved it and kept it in.
