Lola's expression at the claw clip when I still wear mine from the 90s. The only reason I don't have my original scrunchies from the 80s is because the elastic died.
That's why I don't have scrunchy socks. ok...it's also because my feet were still growing.

What the younger generation fails to understand is that mom and dad jeans are not baggy because of age or style. They are baggy because of the added inches most people put on as they age past the mid 40's.
Neither Penn nor Kim need to be wearing baggies.
The problem with trendy is that you're not allowed to wear what you like or prefer. You are only allowed to wear what the totalitarian fashion cult dictates. Even when the garment is already worn out and has holes from the factory.
Why would anyone buy jeans that are already worn out?

But really, Its sad, I know, but I hate todays music and everything. Im around PC's age but I am in love with Bonnie Tyler, Linda Ronsdadt, Dolly Parton, Cher, and The Carpenters and in a sense 50s because entertainment is jump rope, hopscotch, and anything outdoors.
I thought ripped jeans went out of style a few years ago. They were out of dress code in the title one school where I taught, so I remember. That was in around 2015.

Those things in your wrist are actually elastic hair ties. They are meant to be easy to put in your hair and grip your hair without pulling too hard in your scalp.

I am SHOOKED that kids these days don't know how hair jaw/claw clips work. When I was a teen, I would spend FOREVER trying to make sure my hair flower looked perfect.
My fifteen-year-old is literally wearing the same clothes I wore to school in the 90’s. 🤷🏻♀️
My nephew is that age and wears his dad's old Girbauds with some straight "Fresh Prince"/ "In Living Color"- looking button downs with 70s trucker hats and Orange crocs to go rodeo.

if you live long enough most this stuff comes and goes so if you don't gain/lose much weight and have ginormous closet just keep everything,

Yup, body suit tucked right into the Guess jeans. I have a pic of me 1st year university. 1994. But there is NO WAY I would look as good as Kim does in THAT look now. 😳

I honestly don’t know if I like “trendy” these days. I do know when I was Lola’s age asking my mom why she didn’t keep all of her neon and orange stuff from the 70-80s era so that I could be cool. Lol

The hair bobbles you had on your wrist in the first outfit, are for curly hair girls. We DO actually use them. At night, we put our hair up in a pineapple with them (top head pony tail) to keep the hairs from getting split up and destroying the curl pattern as we sleep, or to use when working out for the same reason. The spiral style keeps the hair from getting all snapped and split like a regular hair band. So, yes they do get used for hair.
It's called trendy because that look wont be around long. That's the way trends work.
I just dress in classic or chic styles they may not be trendy, but at least they never go out of style and they don't set me in a decade.
thats what i like to do, stay with near fashion but at my age found everything comes and goes except the classic styles that are always in and save money.
I'm gen z and I never stick to trends, my hair has a natural side part I will continue to have a side part, also I will skinny jeans most of the time when I wear "actual pants".

JNCOS aren't technically baggy so much as wide-leg. REALLY wide leg. Seriously, I had sheets with less fabric than those jeans. But they looked so good with your chain wallet.😂
I couldn't afford them back in the day (and my parents refused to spend the money on them), so I will definitely buy them now if they're back.

My jeans ripped just above the knee and I was so upset -- they're my favorite jeans! Great to know they're even more trendy, now. Too bad they're straight-legged, but hey, I'm even older than Penn and Kim, so I'm not particularly worried about it. I don't mind baggy jeans; really I like ALL jeans, including bell-bottoms. No suggestion for baggy jeans. I'm still stuck on boot cut jeans I used to wear back in the 90s. As a "curvy" Latina woman, I find them to be the most flattering and comfortable for me.

I will NEVER go back to mom jeans but absolutely live for my oversized overalls. Didn’t even know this was a thing until my 27 year old daughter told me that a teenager told her she was so “over” for wearing skinny jeans. We just laughed because we’ve never done “trends” This video was super cute. You two are adorable. 💕✨

I think there is a cute way to style baggy jeans, I'm picturing Aaliyah in the Are You That Somebody video. But the patchwork kills me! It's like all the ugliest parts from the 90's.
I think the trick to baggy jeans is proportion. Not to go baggy everywhere. Keep the jeans simple (one wash, no patches or rips) and keep the shirt fitted or cropped (if you're younger) and colorful.

Amazing jeans for women that are not skinny - Levi's Wedge model!!!! I have to order them from USA because we don't have that model in Europe unfortunately. Perfect baggy jeans but not too baggy.
I'm not trendy at all. When I'm shopping, I always just look for clothes that I like. Sometimes that means going on Amazon and typing in the search bar something very specific because I can't find it in stores anymore.
1. The lady who owns the store has gorgeous eyes
2. The body suit just leaves me fighting to not stare at Kim's boobs. She's married and so am I; it's uncomfortable. But, good on her for being in her mid-40s and still have that effect
3. The patch jeans are meh
4. The ripped baggy jeans are absurd
Love the first look except the jeans. The jeans fit you beautifully but just get them in a solid denim (not patches). The second look was awesome except the jeans! Only teenagers can get away with ripped denim, adults should not where them. The last outfit was fantastic! Nice idea and very sweet of your daughter to help you!

Those hair ties that y'all used for bracelets they are meant for curly hair and don't work very well for straight hair like Lola said they will rip your hair out if its straight
To any woman over age 24 try to always avoid being stuck in a time warp. Often women evolve with current fashions but stop in their mid 20's or when they get married and just drag out that same hairstyle 20-30-40-50 years. They also find new old looking clothes. The average woman in her 40s still dresses from 1998 and her hairstyle is basically the same as well or the same hairstyle she had in the 2000's (usually the flat straighten look parted in the middle or the side). Men do the same thing, look at Erik Estrada, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry...actually the entire cast of the tv show Friends. Although they are older, they all still have the same hairstyles from their late 20s (around 1998-2001 style). For some reason as people get older they believe whatever was in style when they were younger is still in style 10,20 or 30 years later....or beyond!
