- First Day in Laos 🇱🇦 First Time in Vientiane! Join us as we start our day trying to find an ATM to take out some local currency while also stumbling upon a market where we enjoy a delicious orange smoothie. Next, we head to the iconic Patuxay, also known as the Victory Monument, where we take in the stunning architecture and panoramic views of the city. To cool off, we indulge in some refreshing coconut ice cream, a delightful treat in the Laotian heat. 🍦🥥 Our days not over yet as we walk to a nice coffee shop, where we relax and enjoy the local coffee culture. After walking back towards home we finish off with some beef jerky and the best noodles! A perfect first day in Laos.

Really enjoyed this adventure in Vientiane! The 1st mall that you were at had a food court on the top floor! Very local, reasonably priced, lots of variety, and I had laab there too! Love that you guys have fun no matter what happens!

Feels like 51...good lawd. When we were living in KL, we had many "feels like 40C" days, and those were absolutely brutal. Can't even imagine more than that. We haven't been to Laos yet, but it's certainly on the list. Hope you guys had a good time there!

I’m glad you guys like the noodles. But, if you guys wants to have the best Larb seen it mean like beef salads . They have a choice like bitter with bile or lime. This kind of real Laos foods like you are looking for is special place and limited ask the local peoples around where is the best place to dine in for best Larb seen. I love to have that too . Wish you come or go back there again to taste. Remember peoples have a different taste. I prefer you guys try bitter and the sour to determine which one you like 👍 wish you the best of luck……! ❤

Looks like the traffic there in Laos is not as chaostic as Vietnam. Poor Shelby could not find Caphe Sua Da, I guess there might be Vietnam Coffee shops avail somewhere overthere, I hope you can find it 😊
Yes the traffic is way more relaxed which is a nice change. ☺️ it’s hard to leave Vietnam after having the best coffee!! 😂

Oh no way! We are from Prince George, practically neighbours ☺️ overall for living Thailand (we are huge suckers for the food and we started our journey there so it’s holds a special place in our hearts) but cost wise.. Vietnam. Both awesome country’s through ☺️
I know PG. I had friends that lived there in the late 80's. When to visit once. It was quite the town back then. You could go to any bar on any day and it would be packed. Lots of disposable income back then and not much else to do. lol
You aren’t wrong! There’s a lot of drinking and not a whole lot else unless you have quads, bikes etc! Which is why the travel life is for us. Had to get out of that town 😂

My husband and I left Quesnel 8 months ago and have been and traveling ever since. We also love Vietnam and we are currently here for 3 months - Thailand is our 2nd favourite country. I know Laos is hot right now especially between March and July. The best time to visit Laos is during the winter months. Just enjoy the trip and see how Laos 🇱🇦 is. Thank you for being so positive about our country, I know Laos is a very small country and not too many people know about it. But Laos just like many countries there good and beautiful people waiting to welcome you. I’m sure you will find some great places to visit and a lot of good foods that you can try.😄😄

So lamb is a Lao traditional dish ? Weird that’s not available everywhere like the Vietnamese banh mi or Pho.
It's a special.dish .. if u not expertise the taste nis not right..u have to pick the right restaurant that cook that dish..
I saw news that almost a half of Laos population already leave the country due to economic recession. That's why is so quiet.
Lao called "kua mee" kinda like Pad Thai..go to Luang Prabang is nicer for a walk.
