If we stayed in china we are treated as Chinese becuz we are same race not like in America where we got look down and face discrimination, China is home to 56 ethnic groups and we hmong/miao is incuded, hmong China get treated better now so, if wev were still there we would be the same.
We didn't stay in China because the Chinese wanted to erase the Hmong people in China. It was either become Chinese or die. And my Great Grandfather from that time left China as an orphan because everyone else was dead. And how many Hmong-chinese died in the Communist revolution of China??? The full numbers are still unknown to this day. It's better off for me and many other Hmong people not knowing how it would have been like if we had stayed.
@@wtxohnthao2612 your story here makes no sense to me, we left China many centuries before Chinese revolutionary war, the last wave of hmong left China was at Qing dynasty when manchurian ruled China in the 16th to 19th century, we fought manchurian army in the17th & 18th century where we fled to loas, but some of hmoob dawb already moved south way as early as 13th century, that is no hmoob dawb speakers in china. The Chinese communist party started around 1920s, how did you guys got fight with them. Make no sense.
@@wtxohnthao2612 I think you guys outside China know the surface of the history but not what's under the surface. Historically Hmong left China after the failure of Taiping rebellion(mostly Han/Zhuang Chinese but there're other ethnic groups in it too such as Hmong) . Some Hmong and Dong、Shui 、Yao rebelled against the Qing empire as respond to Taiping rebellion. You can loosely lump the Taiping rebellion and Hmong rebellion and all others as one during that period. The last troop of Taiping rebellion led by Li Wen Cai(李文彩, a Zhuang minority)was crushed by the Qing government in Leishan(Leishan county in today's Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture), they're there fighting side by side with the Hmong troop led by Hmong Leader Zhang Xiu Mei (张秀眉), this was also the last Hmong rebellion in Qing dynasty, as they were too crushed in the same last battle (Wuyapo battle 乌鸦坡战役). The battle symbolized 22 years of Taiping Rebellion and 18 years of Hmong rebellion came to an end. The year was 1872. Not just some Hmong (still until this day, 90% remains in China) escaped to South East Asia, many Han and Zhuang too escaped to South East Asia, some Hakka Chinese went as far as Peru. Those rebellions were direct aftermath of 1st Opium war. China lost the war and had to pay billions of dollars(with an annual interest rate of 4 percent for the money that was not paid in a timely manner ) to the British, the Qing government had no other choice except imposing heavy taxes. Opium was legalized, and industrialized machine-made products from the west crushed the Chinese local industries. Life was hard and got harder. And there're famines, people ate dirt and tree barks to survive. (you know, today, Haitians still eat dirt cookies to survive) The Communist revolution, well the full name of the communist army before Japanese invasion was The Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. And by then 90% of Chinese were peasants, I'd say over 95% of Hmong were peasants. So yes, the Hmong in China were basically communist sympathizers. Mao himself as a matter of fact lived in a few dozen Hmong villages during the long march. These villages are called red army villages today. Many Hmong joined the communist army during those days. Some important conference was held in Hmong vilages. The most famous one was Zhaxi(扎西会议) conference, it symbolized Mao became the new core of the communist party and took power, Huangtian Hmong village(荒田苗寨, Yunnan province)was where the conference took place. The Hmong village is quite touristy today. Miao/Hmong was not "the others" as you might perceive in China. Xiong Xi Ling the premier of Republic of China in early 1910s was from today's Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Shen Congwen who is considered to be one of the greatest modern Chinese writers too was Hmong(He was slated to win the 1988 Nobel Prize in Literature, but died before he could be awarded the prize which was revealed in Jeffrey C. Kinkley's book). The founder of Sinovac(which is under severe attack by the western media)Professor Pan Aihua(潘爱华)is a Hmong, the last governor of Liaoning province is Hmong-- Actually the former governor of Washington Gary Locke‘s wife was the grand daughter of Lan Ni(蓝妮) who was a descendant of a Hmong King family from Yunnan province, her father was a Cambridge student who joined Sun Yat Sen's anti-Qing movements, she was also the daughter in law of Sun Yat Sen(founding father of modern China).
The room you speak of is a country. A country that can reunite everyone. If you live in their country, you live by their laws. The Vietnam War was a great example.
Not in America though, Hmong language is dying in America, because government doesn't care about preserving the language, you learn English or you starve

Its call respect and showing love for every tribe in his country. Its just sad that not all emperor/president and king will have the same love for his/her people. There will be a generation that's full of Hate and another with A lot of Respect....but Love will not come easy unless blood is shed.
As a Hmong American who has visited the Hmong in China, I would like you to understand something about the Hmong in China. The CCP has been the kindest and most benevolent government of China towards the Hmong people. For most of human history the various Chinese dynasties and kingdoms have sometimes caused conflict between the Hmong and other ethnic groups. But the CCP is the first government of China that recognizes the rights of Hmong people as equal citizens in China. They work hard to bring prosperity and development to the Hmong people. You say you ask for Hmong people to have a country but what you ask for is conflict and ethnic tensions. The Hmong and the Chinese have lived in peace and created mutual prosperity in China for generations under the CCP. Many Hmong people there love and support the CCP. They enjoy freedom, autonomy, and increasing prosperity. Why would they give up all that they have spent generations building for ethnic conflict?
@@RiceBowl14 TLDR, I will tell you what I think, But I know that you (as well as most Hmong people) will not be happy to hear it. Hmong people have a strong sense of pride in our identity but deep down we know we are not any more moral or noble than others. Our culture fundamentally lacks objective morality. Like all peoples and cultures that lack objective morality, we will abandon moral courage. This will lead to all the problems that will prevent Hmong people from ever becoming civilized: choosing bad leaders, tolerating injustice, and a general sense of pessimism and malaise. I have come to admit that other more developed and civilized cultures have done these thing much better than us. We can always learn and change.

Well, people who think like you have a narrow mind & you don’t know your history too well! Do you know that in China there are 56 recognized ethnic groups?? All are considered Chinese I’m sure. And that our Hmong/Miao people is one of the largest group? We’re like 5th or 6th on the list. We used to be 3rd largest group not too long ago. SO yes, We came out of China and we too are Chinese!! As for me, I grew up in the US.. but growing up I felt I had no identity & like our Hmong people didn’t belong anywhere. I wondered why we had no country & why we are so few. But when I found out we are a people from China, I felt like I finally got all my answers! And I felt like China was my home country. It was where I came from, it was my identity. 😊
What a stupid thought! If you didn't lose anybody how could you become a leader. Wherever we live we must cooperate with that country to fight the intruders or their enemies this is something we must do to help that country.

This is awesome!! Sometimes I wonder how our lives would be like if we stayed in China
(you know, today, Haitians still eat dirt cookies to survive)
The Communist revolution, well the full name of the communist army before Japanese invasion was The Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.
The founder of Sinovac(which is under severe attack by the western media)Professor Pan Aihua(潘爱华)is a Hmong, the last governor of Liaoning province is Hmong--
Actually the former governor of Washington Gary Locke‘s wife was the grand daughter of Lan Ni(蓝妮) who was a descendant of a Hmong King family from Yunnan province, her father was a Cambridge student who joined Sun Yat Sen's anti-Qing movements, she was also the daughter in law of Sun Yat Sen(founding father of modern China).

@@billgigolo7783 its meanning how delicious a dog meet in vietcong city?
The room you speak of is a country. A country that can reunite everyone. If you live in their country, you live by their laws. The Vietnam War was a great example.
Not in America though, Hmong language is dying in America, because government doesn't care about preserving the language, you learn English or you starve

Tell the CCP to give Miao/Hmong a country.
You right
And pick me to be president cause I'm the one who tell the world help the poor
That’s not possible because they live all over southern China

Well, people who think like you have a narrow mind & you don’t know your history too well!
Do you know that in China there are
56 recognized ethnic groups??
All are considered Chinese I’m sure.
And that our Hmong/Miao people is one of the largest group?
We’re like 5th or 6th on the list.
We used to be 3rd largest group not too long ago.
SO yes,
We came out of China and we too are Chinese!!
It was where I came from,
it was my identity. 😊
