@@CelebrateNature-BVAS I saw a couple for the first time under the Harford Pier in Avila Beach (6/22/23), but didn't get any good shots of them. I was about to say that Black Oystercatchers would have been lifers for me, but I forgot that I got an inflight shot of a couple of them on Morro Strand State Beach (7/4/19). I'll have to go back and reprocess that shot, now that I can use Adobe Denoise.
And there are a few Black Oystercatchers at La Jolla Cove that are near where the sea lions haul out by the bridge club. Also a hybrid American x Black Oystercatcher frequents the area.
