The Aisha Bawany building brought back a lot of memories. I left Pakistan for the US in 1983 as a teenager. It was a very clean and well laid out city back then. I visited after 26 years in 2010 and it was quite a shock.

I used to travel to saddar,tower,jinnah hospital road on a daily basis,from 1970-1988,then I left for the u.s. I returned to see my beloved city in 2023.it was a huge shock.but I still love my city where I grew up and got my education.
I was not even born by then yet I still feel connected to it

Very memorable clip. Most the shops and businesses in Saddar no longer exist today. Karachi appears to be clean as compared to today.

The days when MQM left no measure to destroy this beautiful city. Nothing much has changed though same cars, same buildings still stand, even after all these years, but I do notice how clean the city is compared to now and how little the traffic is in the video.

the reason our city looks more messy and polluted now is because in the early to mid 2000s it became much easier to buy cars due to bank financing. the roads couldnt handle such a big surge in traffic.
