The Ministry of Enoch
Originally aired: 2/28/2004
Brigham Young University professors discuss the ministry of ancient prophets.
Presenters: Robert Millet, Andrew Skinner, Joseph McCkonkie, Richard Draper, Michael Rhodes
Enoch is my favorite Prophet. He was a man that started from aplace of insecurity and weakness and received power through the lord.
“And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. …
“And I, Moroni, having heard these words, was comforted” (verses 26-27, 29).
He was a good boy
Very grateful to these scholars for sharing their knowledge, and feeding my hunger for this.
Now we witness things from the past coming to fruition once again in our day.
The Ensign from 1973 for several years after (at least every 2 months until 1977,11 parts so far) has Hugh Nibley's "strange thing in the land of Enoch" series. It's amazing!
Cant find it. Which month pls send first link

Think of the most pleasant way to spend now and then
I love these discussions and the positive feedback they give one another. I like to focus on the spiritual nature of these things and not the evil that Enoch has to deal with
Literally fed my soul.
Thank you very much. I have greatly enjoyed the exchanging ideas about the scriptures that are discussed. This is something I've been doing for over three years now. This group always helps me understand a lot of details that would go unnoticed in normal study. Iraja Soares - Recife, Brazil

It's Jan.2023
And I wish you had dates on your videos ❤️📖🙏
What a legendary video.
I have listened to several scholars and not heard the love of God in their teaching. But this (based on what I could hear) seemed accurate; or at least mutually agreed upon to the extent where the teaching seemed trustworthy. But even more than that, there was liberty among the men sharing the word, which means there was also love "wherever the Spirit of the Lord is..."
It is hard, if not impossible to find such a consensus between this level of accuracy combined with freedom. Based on the evidence, I would think this meeting and the content is being guided by the Lord Himself.
Thanks for sharing your feelings :) I love these discussions as well and have the same sentiment as you! I am a member and appreciate others that input. Have a glorious New Year!
Well said, a divine meeting of the minds.
He probably had a stutter or was not well versed and God said you are ENOUGH powerful
Fantastic!
What great words these are.
How amazing that Joesph Smith received information about Enoch
True
You all are my spirit family
This is fantastic.
It's wonderful to listen to scholars discuss the greatest prophets like Enoch and his great works, but no one mentions the elephant that isn't in the room. We just tend to equate Enoch's works with the minimal works of today.
Holy Ghost speaks with power and a convincing voice
.
Truly scripture revealed through a Prophet of God
it would seem responsible that when God anointed Enocks eyes with clay, he removed the Veil from his eyes . Joseph Smith once said " He opened the Veil from my eyes that I might see"...love you guy's
Thank you so much for this discuss on the Ministry of Moses. Please could you share the pdf copy of the scriptural text you are reading from. The book of Moses from whence you read and discuss the ministry of Enoch. Thanks
I can relate to Moses how he had Aaron talk for him when they were talking to the pharaoh 💟💙
They also called John the Baptist a wild man!
The great Joseph Smith, the mighty seer, greatest among the prophets.
I wouldn’t say he was the greatest among the prophets...He was one of the most important tho
@@Chillymosquito well, depending on how you define "most important" or "greatest".
ABSOLUTELY!
At 48:20 -- Truth will I send forth OUT OF the earth (The Book of Mormon). The gold plates were buried in the earth for centuries before Joseph Smith was led to them and translated The Book of Mormon from them.
❤❤❤❤
Hymn 85 is
How firm a foundation.
Enoch was born way later according to various Septuagint readings. The early centuries of the church used the Greek. It was suspected that the Jewish people who still did not receive Jesus as Messiah had changed some begetting ages in Genesis in their Hebrew copies for reasons of discrediting Jesus as the fullness of the times which were thought by some to be 5500 years from Adam.
Just cherish your knowledge
17:18
How do the Greek and Hebrew Septuigents (pardon spelling) play into this?
We understand that His “tabernacle” is not his temple. It is his body/presence which will be in their midst.
