    It's such an iconic song; and I always thought it was the one thing that Sid did perfectly right. And it came out of nowhere.

    Sid beat up Frank and left him in the trunk of a car . . . .cool post JJ, thanks. Didn't the Pistols do a cover of Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock"?

      That was after John left, with Ten Pole Tudor on vocals. Not a great outing.

    I think Cook and Jonesy played on this.

    • @palacerevolution2000
      @palacerevolution2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not true. Jonesy did eventually overdub guitars at Virgin, but the song was done in Paris. It took several tries to get Sid there, and ready to do it.It was all French musicians who played, and produced the original sessions.

    • @jamesjames9275
      @jamesjames9275  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but Steve actually produced the session and overdubbed some guitar parts. He claims credit for coming up with the idea of transitioning to a fast/punk arrangement for the second half. The original plan was that Sid would just sing it all the way through like the intro part.

    • @palacerevolution2000
      @palacerevolution2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't know that Jones says that. I can tell you for a fact that he was physically present only at one of the sessions, and definitely did not play on the basic tracks, or until after Sid had done the vocals.

      Not the pistols,just a talentless loser . Sid had nothing to do with punk,he was just a poser.

    • @jamesjames9275
      @jamesjames9275  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It could be argued that Sid actually killed punk.

    • @tysonmindham2986
      @tysonmindham2986 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James James What do you mean exactly? I agree when saying that Sid was more of a showman than a musician (obviously).

    • @michaelr4063
      @michaelr4063 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      James James Yeah, no doubt. I don't think he converted many 'Yess' fans with this one. It's funny, whether Lydon was consciously trying or not, a lot of the stuff he said and wrote way back when stands up pretty damn strong as social commentary today. Sid's social commentary was 'I'm gonna pick my nose and wipe it on this shopkeeper's storefront window'. Big fan of your channel btw. I just never message cos I'm such a HUGE fan of 'The 'orrible WHO!' That I would never shut up if I get started. I've also got my own Schecter Diamond Series PT Special, same as yours. Black, double white binding, maple neck. Thing is stupid heavy but It's a mean machine. I think mine's broken though because it never plays those Who tunes as well as yours does, lol. Big, big on The Stones too, Keiths groove and crunch. Thx man. Keep em coming.

      @@jamesjames9275 if Nancy's nickname was punk, I'd say it's possible.
