Wow loving what he is saying about play - as a pediatric occupational therapist it’s good to remember to embrace joy and play … let’s not be distracted with performance anxiety or the tendency of contemplating a potential disconnection with others. Connection resides here and I value it. Thanks Chris and Josh! ❤ truly.
I have to say that this interview was more interesting than most Hollywood movies I've watched recently. Also I totally understand the part about so many movies being so awfully violent. Sometimes you just want something that's not stupid revenge but uplifting instead!
Mr. Pine has always been my favorite ‘Chris’. I’ve had very severe acne right out of college and it was not fun in the dating world. Thanks for your words, man! You’re the best, Chris!
I lived the beach lifestyle for 5 years until I moved to AZ and became a pool man for 15 years. I HAD to see this movie. Its a funny movie with a light-hearted tone. Chris Pine is an artist and I appreciated every moment of the movie. Plus I adore Danny DeVito. The part with him listening to classical music while cleaning the pool vibed with me. Meditating in the pool was funny as hell and a great idea! Thanks Pine!
Saw Poolman a few weeks ago at a screening in New York that both Chris and Josh were at and thought it was fun as hell! Quirky, funny, and a great performance by Pine himself.
Chris Pine is underrated** in so many regards. On another note, I wish you would do a collab interview with his dad + Chris. Pine Sr. has no idea how impactful he was on several generations as well. We hold them both in high regard.
Chris Pine seems like such a nice guy. I feel bad that POOLMAN is getting so many negative reviews. As always, a fun and entertaining interview Josh. Thank you!
Wow Chris pine is such a cool dude, he is so down to earth and true to himself. I love his confidence in being himself and great for him on making this movie and doing what he loves to do!!!! I will def go see it! Sounds like it’s a fun watch! ❤ Chris Pine❤️
I absolutely love CP’s art and brain. He inspired me to read a couple books he mentioned and is truly so fun. Good guy. Wish I saw the screening in Toronto. Haha not cancelled for the wall art or what not. -Always a solid interviewer, Josh.
Josh has the right approach to criticism. It's okay to make a film that many people will dislike, even my least favorite films have an audience who'll embrace them and I would never want to try to take that away from them or the filmmaker. I might think Poolman sucks, but it will have its cult following and the film is for them.
Can’t wait to see the film. Thanks so much. Chris should be a leading man. Those blue eyes are mesmerizing❣️ Plus Cary Grant was wonderful in his Brioni suit for North by Northwest. He was 55 years old for that film. So you go Chris Pine!
Hollywood wants perfection and money but you know what to me perfection is seeing through these adversities and realizing who people really are and how much you can love them no matter what and the love that they give back to you It's hard to find nowadays social media has ruined too much
Seeing it tonight regardless of reviews since I love the big Lebowski, under the silver lake and stoner noir stuff. Even if it’s not great it’ll be fun I think
Honestly, I thought Poolman turned out to be a really good movie and I can relate to his character a lot in a lot of ways as well as I saw the important points in the movie. If you ever see him or talk to him tell him his biggest fan here said well done.He was very creative and I love how his mind works.
Not gonna lie, while I'm sure Poolman isn't for everyone, the couple reviews i skimmed were so oozing with disdain and hyperbolic, they made me want to see it. Unwitting promoters lol i liked his Neo comparison on wanting to dodge the critics' scorn. It should stream well from the cast alone.
He is one of those that I did not find good or appeal to me earlier in his career. I judged him as this pretty boy, this frat boy but he has done amazing work. I really loved the mystery, noir drama about the Black Daliah, I Am the Night. Underrated AF. That was series that just came and went unnoticed but I loved it! I think I have only seen one of his Star Trek's, did not love. I think this Poolman, or i want it to be a bit like I Am The Night / Inherent Vice / Under The Silver Lake, kind of Mystery. This Paranoid, stoned misunderstanding that disappears when the influence goes after a few hours. I loved Edward Norton's Motherless Brooklyn. I think it's good that we have those.
wow THANK YOU for speaking about acne. It traumatized me badly during college and it wasn't until my late 20s that I was able to get in under control. Truly horrific experience that made me miss a TON of my early adulthood
Saw it a few weeks back. I wasn’t aware that it was getting destroyed in the reviews. There’s nothing really egregious about the movie. It’s just sort of a “regular movie”, for lack of a better term.
Awww! Dangit! I wish I had known about the Q&A before! Also, I think we are all tired of waiting to hear what they're gonna do with the next Star Trek! ..... Like, why don't they just make the movie for goodness' sake???!!!! .... And he's all worried about the pot! LOL No one noticed the pot, Chris! LOL Good interview. Long.... But good. I'm actually interested in seeing Poolboy now.
It's sad cuz society can't see through things like that everybody wants someone that's perfect. I didn't want that. And after she got out of high school she didn't have it anymore she was the most beautiful thing to me before and after. Don't judge a book by it's cover
It's sad that people judge you by how you look. My wife that I was with for 27 years had bad acne and people would make fun of her in high school and I saw through that she was the most beautiful person to me. She had acne on her face and I looked at it as a beautiful thing everyone's not perfect. I ended up marrying her and 27 years
if you enjoyed making Poolman it & didn't hurt anyone financially no biggie. you have the money & clout. but you do choose to make some really awful movies presumably for money like the unwatchable computer games abomination & movie with lady director, didn't see it. l don't know its all MCU cra#p now. no decent acting or scripts since 1960s. don't premature age with this long hair style. children? you need to find some decent scripts. getting funding & people on board will be hard if you make awful films tho. Warren Beatty made some dreadful films too. he's not a Paul Newman. Harrison Ford has only ever played the same character & criticises all his movies, they're all rubbish he did purely for $. Speilberg & Lucas have given up. its all gone. no decent TV or movies anymore. 1940-2010. since streaming its all gone horrribly wrong. big names make box office appeal movies for $ so you can make personal indie projects. beautiful dogs. go have lunch with Bill Shatner while you still can at his Belle Reve Farm.

It was really refreshing that Chris didn't blame the audience for not liking his film, or blame anyone else for the film's bad reviews.
Time stamp for when he talks about this?
That's called having no ego, my friend. It's refreshing.
@@austinbeard1814oh he has one. Ask him about his hair.

I saw Poolman and loved it. It's silly, strange, clever (very clever) and thoroughly enjoyable
Gotta say that given the reviews I hadn’t planned on seeing Poolman, but hearing Chris talk about it I have my ticket for tomorrow night preordered
Nice! Let us know what you think of it please?

It’s in these thoughts and discussions of criticisms where people can learn to be okay with differing opinions people have ❤
I love Hollywood history and stories they are pretty fascinating. Can't wait to see his movie.
