Rory actually mostly screamed on their first few albums. Sleeptalk they sort of went with a more pop feel with more singing. As much as I love their old stuff I feel like the newer stuff is a better fit for his voice
his voice is amazing. his screams are nice but man his voice is amazing.
@@ThatYellowPokemon rory along with noah from bad omens have to be the biggest vocal glow-ups in not just metalcore but music in general - what they've learned to do with their voices in the space of a couple of years is incredible (I think Rory just edges Noah out but the latter will probably surpass him in time). Incredibly nimble and beautiful voices, instantly recognisable. I'm very excited to see just how much better they can get
The old stuff was better. Intense song topics about talking to God and his response, vengeance, drug addiction, miscarriages, suicidal thoughts, just to name a few. Sure his vocals sound amazing these days but a majority of the songs are “oooo girl I miss you” types. Still love them regardless.

Just saw Dayseeker live on their SleepTalk Tour. They were killer live! Also had great support from Caskets, Holding Absence and Thornhill.
Rory's screams are some of my favorite because you can tell how much emotion he puts into them. With Sleeptalk he kind of dialed them back a little and portrayed that emotion with more melodic stuff, but listen to any song on Dayseekers first 2 albums and you'll just hear raw emotion. Amazing albums
