    That thing hit so bloody hard at the back of nintronics room (recent rel day)...... Awesome compact (ish) inexpensive (ish) unit.... Thumped a great big smile on my face...... and I'm a moody git.....

      We're glad you liked the HT/1508. It certainly hits hard with that 15" driver.

    Hi terry. I’m curious, if all my speakers in surround sound system is full range, is there actually other information in the LFE channel .1 that isn’t in any of the 5/7/9 or more channels?

    So glad you like the REL sub. I have had a few over the years and love them. Have you tried it with 2-channel music yet, Terry?

      Though the HT/1508 is designed for theater, the light and quick driver makes it a great addition to systems used for both movies and music.

    Hi 2x REL HT1508 or single SVS PB 16 ultra?

    Great review! I’m debating between the 1508 and the Arendal 1723. Do you have any experience with it? If so, which do you prefer between the two. Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate it!

      @@el_projects I actually haven’t made a decision yet. I think for my preferred sound I’m going to get 2 SVS PB-3000’s. I want the punch, don’t need infrasonic frequencies, and think I need 2 subs to help avoid nulls. I can get 2 SVS’s for just a little more than the price of 1 of those and I think the bass will be substantially more pronounced in my space. This is just my opinion for my situation. Hope you are happy with whatever you end up getting.

      @@jasonleonard6260 oh wow. 1 PB-3000 here cost more than anyone of those for me where I live. I think I'm leaning towards 1732 1S, since I live in Sweden.

    The predator doesn’t appear to have the speakon connector correct? I have a large room 30 feet X 15 X 12 feet high. But primarily for music not home theater. What sub would you recommend

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe one / two of the new Serie S subs that are 12 inch 12 passive radiator - they are supposed to be excellent.
      They have the high level speakon connections and look lovely. I will be reviewing them at some point but soon sorry about that. Work load is taken up for a little while

    Honest question looking for frank response: Am I wasting my time/money by not going dual sub setup? I'm looking at the smaller T9i Rel's to pair with smaller Magnepans

    • @clothyardshafts
      @clothyardshafts 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve had the S/812 for two weeks. The sub works with a pair of Recel Ultima Salon2 loudspeakers. Frankly, I don’t know how I lived without a sub for all of these years. The way that the REL integrates with the speakers is uncanny. I wish I had the room for a second unit but I’m loving the one.

    Great video!! I know you had the svs sb13 ultra, do you happen to have any experience with the sb16 ultra? I'm torn between the rel 1508 and the sb16 ultra. I have not seen a direct comparison, but looks Rel in general will be cleaner and more refined, but the sb16 will go much lower down to 16hz. Do you happen to have an opinion? Thanks in advance!!

      @@PursuitPerfectSystem Thank you! They both have solid Home Trials, I suppose I can try both and return one. I just hate wasting a companies money. But for spending 2k, and possible another 2k going dual then I suppose I should.

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MichaelGreco I think both will be excellent and you likely cant do wrong with either. SVS sound a little different to REL but bass is 75% how you set it up and both will deliver barn storming movie bass

      @@PursuitPerfectSystem First World problems for sure. :) I just picked up a Parasound Halo Integrated used, it has what I think is the best implementation of Home Theater Bypass. So my set up with be for music and movies. But probably 75-80% movies. I can't help but think I really want those extra 5hz lower. But, that's the problem with just theory instead of real world use. I'll report back to you in the future!

      @@MichaelGreco the deeper the bass the harder it is to control the pressure in the room when it starts getting really low it's going to be very modal unless your room is like 40x40 ish in size. It's better to have clean from 30-300 than more of 30 and below imo

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Predator is not a REL designed for music over a high level connection only using the low level connection - that might still work for you.
      For music you might be better off with their new Serie S range they are supposed to be very good

    Hi.
    Great videos. I've learnt alot from them and doing a great jobs.
    I'm setting up my home cinema, got the 3020i 3010i and 3090Ci and now buying a subwoofer.
    I listen to music and movies 50/50 and I've decided on a sealed sub. But stuck between the REL ht1205 and SVS sb1000. I don't like the metal grill on the SVS2000 and pro version is above my budget.
    Any advice you can give me?
    Many thanks, Sukh, London

      I have installed a Predator today at a customer place. Very , very good subwoofer... tight and fast with a lot of power. But to be honest, I own a F113 V1 Fathom my self and installed some E 112 subs in general. I think you should compare the Predator more with the E series not the Fathom. I know the Predator needs some run in time because it was brand new. But the E-112 has deeper bass for sure. Imo the E-series is also a little more precise. But I can say it's a close call in my experience. Very good subwoofer for music in two channel but also surround. Very nice kick-bass. If you are looking for deep low lfe experience imo this is not your sub. If you want speed and a tight bass this is the sub for you. I like it 100% but I do favour JL Audio more but that's personal.

    Hi there hope you still read the comments on this topic,reason being is l just purchased a Ht1508 a week ago and from the first time l powered it up there's been a constant medium pitched buzzing sound that emanates from the enclosure, it's clearly audible from 7/8 feet away at my seating position,it does this even when its disconnected from my receiver, did you come across anything similar when you had the rels james

      I still have them and maybe there can be a little hum but not as you describe. Bear in mind inside is a proper transformer and these can hum because of your mains. Best to contact you dealer about it and check with REL sure they will fix it if it's not right
