Stop just blaming the corporations - blame the consumer who purchases these items! Buy American made products or at least fair-trade. We, as consumers must be ethical. We have buying power - if we don't buy it, they can't manufacture it.

But this time the Asians give colonialism a go. Seems that everyone wants to milk Africa dry.

The issue here really is fast fashion. Constantly competing for lower wages in the fashion industry wouldn't be as much of an issue if people weren't buying new clothing so often.

No, it's not. The issue is the government is corrupt. Read about the EoG prior to 2018.

It doesn't look or sound as if there are many protections and benefits to start with. Slave labour is shameful.

This truly breaks my heart. Is there a more in depth investigative report on this and the current developmental trajectory of Ethiopia. Investigative journalists of Ethiopia are non existent if not still perishing in their prisons...

VoteGreen Always blame the capitalists. They are only doing this in Ethiopia because communists in China fought for better wages.

StephenSchleis - I don't always the capitalists! The corporations must be punished, but the consumers are also responsible.

VoteGreen The owners of the corporations should be thrown in a gulag. And ownership transferred to the workers.

Every possible thing is made to push consumers to buy these products, low prices, billions in marketing, easily accessible warehouses.
Your right that you should buy local and most of all buy as little as possible.
