i will forever have a soft spot for adrianne lenker. her music makes me so emotional and has gotten me through so much. i love love love her voice she’s just so perfect.
@@jonathanxavier2026 Despite knowing the other person is not good to her, she tries to save the crumbling relationship using whatever charm she has left. She views it as a weapon-a powerful juxtaposition-her smile, kindness or sense of humor compared to the edge of a blade. In this context, ‘letter’ may act as a synecdoche for the other person’s last name. Through marriage she would take on the other person’s last name as her own. (I stole this from genius btw)
@@OrangeCrush_Brandon for some reason my first thought was knife being a double entendre for a letter opener, and it's being used to open up and steal something from inside the other person. as if the person was the envelope and whatever she figuratively stole was the letter.
i love adrianne lenker. her music feels like a mother hugging me until i fall asleep. her voice makes me irresistably sleepy, like a comfort in my life i will never have, adrianne lenker is half of my life
“In your dearest fantasy, was to grow a baby in me. I could be a good mother and I wanna be your wife.” This shit has me bawling my eyes out wtf. Beautiful as fuck, keep up the great work!
the amounts of time i watch this and it gets even better. the energy captured in this is unmatched and could be watched for hours. it's insane how perfect it is
Everytime i listen to this album its so pretty it just takes me to a warm cozy spot and shelters me from everything bad, no more loneliness or regret, just safeness and the sense everything will be fine
There's just something so special about the virtuosity of her guitar playing with lyrics that seem like they are the emotional musings of a deeply hurt inner child. She constantly makes me tear up.😢❤
Her songwriting and voice get the due credit but I swear if you don’t play guitar you can’t get a handle on how complex her Travis picking patterns are.. they are SILLYYYYY tough to learn
This video must be in reverse image. Not complaining at all. If Adrianne is able to play guitar left handed as well as right handed... Wow! Wonderful songs, thank you for sharing.
@@xqueencheese5385 of course they do. My point being, if she can play both ways that well; that is amazing! That lady is one talented individual. I hope that is clear. Thanks for sharing

I know, right?!?!
100% would buy an album of her tuning a guitar.
"I wanna be your wife, so I hold you to my knife, and I steal your letter.."
Wow. Incredible line.

Besides Alex G, she’s this generation’s Elliot Smith
Three of the best guitarists and singer-songwriters of alll time without a doubt
though thankfully Big Thief is getting the recognition it deserves while it’s still around, unlike heatmiser
Her writing and guitar work is definitely the best of our generation
Her music is a little more hopeful than Elliot Smiths
You should check out Elliot fullam!

Indeed, best tune in the 2020s
Thank you, universe, for making Adrianne.

this is an absolutely beautiful performance. you can hear and see that she has put her entire soul into this. makes me want to cry

these songs make me so unbelievably emotional

This shit rips into my soul.
Thanks for posting! I've been searching for a live version of not a lot, just forever
I used to strum my guitar for hours, picking the strings in similar fashion. This reminds me ...
Yes it’s so nice. I started learning guitar this year and it’s such an engaging and liberating creative outlet
What an amazing artist.

Great musician and performer, is there a bit of Nick Drake in your background?
I don't know who you are talking to. I'm not Adrianne, I just uploaded an archived video from her Instagram. but I do like a bit of Nick Drake
holy god i just astral projected
très beau
Anyone's got any idea which guitar she uses in this?
does anyone know the tuning for not a lot just forever? its so beautiful
From low (pitch) string to high, it's C#, G#, C#, F#, A#, C#
she uses dadf#ad for most of this album sometimes with a capo
I’m obsessed. Wish she was my BF
hate to be that guy but does anyone know her tunings for these? I know she changes them more often than Nick Drake but good to at least try and play along!
DADF#AD with a capo is a common tuning for her
she breaks my heart. She reminds me of my ex girlfriend. I hurt her, I wish she would forgive me.
Is her guitar tuning standard or different ? If so what tuning is she using ?
She does some songs in double drop D
she uses a variety of alternate tunings
