One Kit Wonder: Architects delivers the huge and punchy modern drum sounds that Architects drummer Dan Searle is famous for. So famous, in fact, that we’ve been getting requests for an Architects library for years!
These samples are from the exact setup used for their recent record “For Those That Wish To Exist”, for which the drums were engineered by our founder Nolly. He then mixed the samples using similar techniques and tools to those used during the mixing of their prior album “Holy Hell”, so this One Kit Wonder represents the most recent era of Architects sound.
Dan’s kit comprises a big kick drum and floor toms, with a tone-full single rack tom and hefty, low-tuned, dry snare. He plays quite an extensive array of fairly dark Zildjian cymbals, with big crashes, big hi-hats, some very cool FX cymbals, a pair of x-hats, and also an extremely crashable ride, something we know lots of GGD users have been calling out for.
It’ll come as no surprise, to those in the know, that the Middle Farm Studios live room provides an exciting and enveloping ambience that you can turn up loud for rich and organic results without washing out the punch of the close mics.
The samples in this pack are unashamedly heavily processed to give you a polished commercial sound, but the library was also recorded in more detail than any other of our releases to date. There’s an unparalleled dynamic range, which gives an extremely realistic result when playing on an e-kit or doing in-depth programming.
Despite being a signature library, this kit is also going to be great for other styles like active rock and metalcore, even country-rock… anything that requires a combination of blunt, punchy drums with washy traditional-sounding cymbals and a killer room sound.
It’s our hope that this sample library will remove frustrating barriers in your creative process so that you can enjoy making music to the fullest.

Architects is what made me into who I am right now as a drummer. I loved Dan’s drum tones so this is just a dream come true.
Please, please, please get a kit map selector for Roland drum kits. Its an epic pain in the ass setting it up and getting all the articulations of the hi-hat working. Thanks again 🤘keep well.

Architects vs P4 for modern metal-esque music, any thoughts about which one provide more versatility? I know they are probably both comparably good with their flavors, but hot damn, I cannot decide which one to snag in order "not to need anything else for some time", and since I'm already getting Cali Oversized and Nolly/Gojira plugins as well, I want to limit myself to one paid drum library this time, and tbh the first paid one ❤
