I’d love to try this sometime but unfortunately where I’m at we have way more UV reactive algae than rocks 😂 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe in spring after some big rains I’ll try. Cool finds! Yooperlites are neat! Also almost all the druse quartz I find glows orange. I’m definitely going to check that out. I have plans for a night hunting video as soon as it warms up
I’m from Columbus and me and my soon to be wife need help getting on a beach up there at night. We have all the gear but not all of the knowledge of Lake Erie and it’s beach entrances. If you could help that would be awesome! I hope to hear back from you!
The Syenite doesn't fluoresce. The Sodalite in the syenite fluoresces. If you're interested in Fluorescent Sodalite in Ohio and the Great Lakes region, find the "FS Hunter" Facebook group. If you're having trouble finding these in Ohio, message me. I live in your area, I can show you guys a few spots.

The UV light is one of my favorite toys at the moment lol. It's fun seeing what sorts of things glow and look wild under the light!
