Speak for yourself i loved my gramps but he was a hardass man shaped by a hard life and many bad sights. I have one.....one whole warm memory of him. After my dad went out for milk i was 19 in college and rather then jumping ship and moving in with friends i stayed at home and helped keep a roof over our heads and support my mom.......was the first time he looked me in the eye and said he was proud of me. He always thought i was to soft because i took after my mom......shame it had to take something so shitty to get those words out of him. But it did mean alot to me sitting there in an IHOP over coffee to hear those words from him. I do miss the old man though we lost grandma a week after valentine's day last year and gramps passed on mother's day......tainting my wife's first real mother's day.

Yknow, when looking at the attributes of a real man its interesting, nearly all of them are "Doing x when no one knows/understands" Integrity, Respect, Honor, Dedication all things that don't come to light till in the right moment.

For the few that do see this, know it always gets better, I may not sill have my family but I’m only 29, going to be 30 in August, I will never give up my hope because at a young age I had to learn it’s the only thing I had that couldn’t be taken. My kids are getting better, my back wasn't... I began lifting so I could keep lifting my kids. It doesn't matter how big they get... Their hugs are golden.

This brings tears to my eyes. Christmas just past and it was the first without my grandfather. He was one of if not the strongest man mentally I knew. It was tough to watch him go the way he did being so strong his entire life from serving in the navy to working 3 jobs when I was a kid (I’m 31 now) to being in that hospital bed… I thought this Christmas would’ve been so much harder but when I think about him in paradise, it brings me peace. I love and miss you pawpaw.
This Christmas was the 3rd without my great grandmother. She was the sweetest woman I knew, but also the strongest. When she passed, she was 97, and she died due to her cancer starting to spread very quickly. She had stage 2 breast, which was growing extremely slowly for 6 years, then the 7th, it just suddenly grew much, much larger, and she died. It brings Me peace that she died while asleep so she didn't feel pain, and she is in paradise now. I miss ya GGma🥹.
I just lost my grandpa to, which he and my Nana are the ones who raised me and he is like my dad. he passed away November 11th. I lost my mom when I was 11 which is why they raised me. it hurts so bad I miss them both SO MUCH.

I sorta know how you feel. Lost my grandpa like maybe 2-3 years ago now. He survived through everything. Till one day ill health took a hold of him and he was booked into a hospital, lungs couldn't work on their own anymore... Wouldn't even make it to the ER in time... So when it came time to move him we went to unplug everything seemed stable... Well we took him out of the room and he opened his eyes one last time with a tear he left. I didn't get to spend much time with him as he was always sleeping- and it was too late to realize how much he truly meant to me in the family... Now I sometimes just wish I could go back and spend more time I took for granted.
I thought he wanted to be a body builder, but really he just wanted to be strong enough to lift his grand daughter, amazing ❤

This remind me of my grandpa, even though I am small due to dwarfism but his only wish after he quit drinking was to lift me to put the star on top on Christmas tree.. But sadly he passed away due to many uncurable illness.. Although I hate him so much bcs of his nonstop drinking but still love him bcs there is a time that he make me happy.. We all know he only had few time to live but my only wish is that I'll be able to say one last time goodbye to him before he passed.. But I didn't have time to say goodbye to him bcs he already passed away when I was still at class..😢we all glad he is gone now bcs that way he wouldn't be bearing all the pain he carried.. R.I.P grandpa😭

This brings tears to my eyes. Christmas just past and it was the first without my grandfather. He was one of if not the strongest man mentally I knew. It was tough to watch him go the way he did being so strong his entire life from serving in the navy to working 3 jobs when I was a kid (I’m 31 now) to being in that hospital bed… I thought this Christmas would’ve been so much harder but when I think about him in paradise, it brings me peace.

This Christmas was the 3rd without my great grandmother. She was the sweetest woman I knew, but also the strongest. When she passed, she was 97, and she died due to her cancer starting to spread very quickly. She had stage 2 breast, which was growing extremely slowly for 6 years, then the 7th, it just suddenly grew much, much larger, and she died. It brings Me peace that she died while asleep so she didn't feel pain, and she is in paradise now. I miss ya GGma🥹.
I just lost my grandpa to, which he and my Nana are the ones who raised me and he is like my dad. he passed away November 11th. I lost my mom when I was 11 which is why they raised me. it hurts so bad I miss them both SO MUCH.
I haven't felt actual happiness or anything like that for 10 years... but this fuckin' Granddad changed my view on a lot of fuckin' things... W for him man... fuckin' best person in the world right there.

I sorta know how you feel. Lost my grandpa like maybe 2-3 years ago now. He survived through everything. Till one day ill health took a hold of him and he was booked into a hospital, lungs couldn't work on their own anymore... Wouldn't even make it to the ER in time... So when it came time to move him we went to unplug everything seemed stable... Well we took him out of the room and he opened his eyes one last time with a tear he left. I didn't get to spend much time with him as he was always sleeping- and it was too late to realize how much he truly meant to me in the family... Now I sometimes just wish I could go back and spend more time I took for granted.
We do what we must to provide,care and not disappoint the ones we love, that's a true man!
