    Yes I would be interested in buying a "kit" with all the 3d printed parts.

    As somebody new to plasma cutting (and metal work in general) I decided to just take a peek at what people have built and this is really really impressive! I just started building a smaller version, very basic, hopefully it works.

    Can we make the table longer?

    What amps are you cutting at?
    Usually most CNC plasmas are set up to run at the max amps for the fitted consumables, and only the speed is changed for various thicknesses.
    (All within reason of course, fitting 120 amp consumables and running 120 amps to cut 3/32 material is not)
    But 30 amps for plate thinner then 2 mm, 40 amps for 2 to 5 and 55 amps for 5 to 10mm (as an example)akes away a lot of variables, as within the ranges you choose you just have to slow down on thicker material in the range,and run faster on thinner material in the range.

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The plasma cutter came with a book with recommended settings. We ran 55 amps on 1/4". The amperage seems to be similar with what you said but the speeds were way too fast.

    The LTP5500D is not have a CNC port, according to owner manual. How did you use it as a cnc?

    Thanks. I have build the MPCNC frame. I was going to use it with a palm router. But it is not stout enough so I bought a Longmill CNC machine. I plan on making the MPCNC into a CNC plasma machine. I am looking for the right plasma cutter to use.

    If I were to buy $25 Plans, $120 3D Parts and $40 Z axis how much more would I expect to spend to complete build. I have the steel already and Fusion.

    • @jdsgarage701

      If you get the $120 parts option it comes with the Z axis. You can expect to spend an additional $300 to finish the build.

    Hey guys, this is from your neighbor down the street, would it be possible to add one more axis to the plans to control the depth of cut and turn it in to a wood cutting CNC?
    Thanks,

    considering this is not a router setup which would provide resistance(cutter is touch free), couldnt you just use smaller motors with a ramps 2560 board?

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately you still need big motors due to the accelerations involved with the cutting. The Gantry weight around 6 lbs. So you need a bigger motor to deal with the forces involved.

  • @Michael-Gould
    @Michael-Gould ปีที่แล้ว

    This has definitely caught my interest. Does the plans have an idiots guide to motors, controller's, interfaces?

      @jdsgarage701 I found the video for the electronics and you had mentioned that in that video. I'm tempted not gonna lie, only thing off-putting is the the cut size. I'm going to measure bits up this weekend and see if I can live with a 2x2 table. My guts saying go to a 4x2 or 4x4

    Hey JD, iv purchased your trike plans recently which only took me about 4hrs to bend an weld frame(no plates), I'll be customizing it with smaller tubing to add a more streamline look with some panels an further mounted flat foot pegs so legs arnt bunched up an able to sit more comfortable like a Harley bagger lol, along with a diff motor mount set up for a 236cc big bore motor an so the filter isn't infront of the rear tire which shocked those TGV guys haven't changed set up....MORONS 😂, So a Lil wider rear structure to do so doesn't look any different by lookin at it atm, YOUR THE MAN!!! THANKS FOR HELPIN US BLUE COLLAR DIY GUYS! 🎉 can't wait till finished an will take dimensions as once people see photos the 5'10-6ft tall people will love an would email ya the adjustments an pics an sell 2 versions which I wouldn't want anything an just wanna help people like me 👍🏼
